  1. I earlier said that CC deserved without doubt to win that game and win it handily, they made us play at their tempo. I have not ever at any point made a reference to take away credit from your team. But at the same time, you can't take a dominating victory without singling out York kids and coaches? All I am saying, and I'm sure this will be misunderstood, is York Institute has by every account exceeded expectations this season. Most people had them picked 6th or 7th in the district when the season started. The coaches and players have done this while under the shadow of the TSSAA penalties. They have done this by being hard nosed and not taking a backward step to anyone or anything. If they lose they don't go down without resistance. I appreciate the toughness (I guess you call that dirty) to not be run over. I would think that all things considered this team could get a little recognition for what they have achieved and how hard they play.
  2. Eldridge is an outstanding player but the comparison is not the same. LA has a better core of talent around him (at this time). Harder for teams to "sell the farm" to defend him (that's a compliment to LAs program by the way). To say York Institute has players & coaches that are dirty, cheap shot artists is a joke. Pile on York this year, while you still can. because the clock is ticking on the 2015-16 season.
  3. You have no clue why York received a 2 yr ban. I am pretty sure you weren't at Pickett County last year. I hope someday you can understand what happens on a basketball court as well as you capitalize every word you type. Again, if your players were held, shoved, jersey pulled every game (funny how nobody else gets defended in that manner), you would be running through the crowd screaming "Citzens Arrest, Citzens Arrest" while pressing the panic button on your car keys. I Will Say This So Even You Can Possibly Understand It.....If The Officials Controlled The Physical Nature In Which Teams Defend Blevins Then All Of Your Complaints Become Irrelevant.
  4. You want to talk about dirty play. Almost every team in this district uses physical, borderline dirty tactics to defend Blevins. If ANY of the other top players had to deal with this all of you homers would be on here raising Cain. First of all a it was an intentional foul, no punches thrown or fists balled up. Again, if any of your kids had to put up with the holding, grabbing, shoving, etc. that Blevins does (from 2 defenders minimum) for one game, let alone every trip down the court you would have a much different opinion. I don't blame any team for doing it. But these coaches that make it part of the gameplan are "great leaders" and above reproach? The double standard is hard not to notice. The officials are to blame for letting it occur in the first place!
  5. There is not a coach worth his salt that has not told his team at some point or another to foul hard to make sure no free layups are made. Not dirty at all, it's called basketball. Not one York kid undercut, cheap-shotted or intentionally tried to injure any one tonight. To imply otherwise is absolutely wrong. Good luck to you as well.
  6. If one riding him with the body and another hanging on his shooting arm is a blocked shot then yes it was after that play he got the intentional. Coaches were assessed techs for arguing the no call on the shot. That gets called then there is no intentional or technicals called following it. Not in any way trying to imply CC didn't deserve to win. They sped us up and made us play at a pace we were obviously not comfortable with. All credit to the CC players. But I will take exception to the implication we have coaches who are not good leaders. That couldn't be further from the truth.
  7. Your either blind or a fool, maybe both. The Blevins kid gets physically assaulted every trip down the floor and can't break wind in anybody's direction without drawing a foul. Officials let it happen. Looks like every team in this district knows we are on probation and know we aren't able to fight back without the TSSAA looming over us with their threat of further punishment. Say what you want but it has happened in almost every district game this season. Enjoy it while you can cause next year we are back.
  8. It's always nice to see some local kids getting recognized. If I looked at that list correctly it did not mention Henderson (White Co) or Blevins (York) at all. If those two are not even listed then I think the list may be a little suspect.
  9. Be interesting too see how all the different "regulars" on here would rank district teams at this point. Predictions on how final regular season district standings will end up?
  10. York over Macon in an ugly offensive game from both teams. York 45, Macon Co 43
  11. York Boys beat Cumberland County tonight. The final was 73-63, I think. Might've been 73-61, either way its on to Livingston Tuesday night. Time to see what we are made of.
  12. York & Cannon 60-60 at the end of regulation
  13. Cannon & York tied at 30 at the half.
  14. York was down 14 midway through 3rd. Knocked down some big shots to take lead late, Upperman had 2 shots to win it in regulation (61-61). York sealed it with FTs, 69-63 final. Good win on the road for inexperienced Dragons.
  15. Coe misses at buzzer, Clarkrange is a winner 49-47.
  16. Cooper scores with :03 left. Clarkrange up 49-47. Timeout Jackson County.
  17. 47-47, 10.5 seconds left. Clarkrange to in bound.
  18. 40-37 Clarkrange with 3:37 left. Don't think Coe has double figures if she does it's barely.
  19. Championship Games set for this Saturday, Feb 1st: Class A- York vs Lancaster Christian Class AA- South Cumberland vs Pickett County Class AAA- West vs Cornerstone
