Folks in West TN "tight-lipped" to the reasons on why the Crockett Co girls coaching position is open...

It's official, Nolen let Barrett go.. His job is now posted on the RCS HR website..

Got word Smyrna filled its spot with an assistant.. Also, was told at the girls state tourney from a Riverdale booster, the Riverdale girls job will be open soon.. It was also rumored that Santa Fe will also have an opening and wont announce til close to the end of the school year.. BGA girls is also open and the admin is courting Ryan Cahak (salesmen for NSG) to come there to coach.. Any other positions anybody knows about in the Middle TN area?

Different subject.. John Overton boys job was posted.. Anyone have any info on this position? What do they have coming back?

Cornersville boys are open since the coach was recently named the head coach for football..

Malcolm Montgomery to Gallatin is the word ... I believe he is from the area...

With tournaments already underway, who are some teams in middle tennessee area that will be looking for a new head coach..

Got word from a Wayne co source the two transfers from Miami are very good and will help the team tremendously plus they have four starters back.. The Prater and Brashier kid are much improved.. They also got a new coach with experience .. It will be interesting to see how they pan out this year..

Predictions ... District 11A - it is wide open because this is a district where any team can end up on top... Santa Fe, Cornersville, CA, Richland and MP will all be improved this year.. Hampshire will continue to be on the bottom.. Santa Fe has a good group of freshmen as well as returning players that got a lot of experience last year... Cville is always in the mix.. CA has new coach and also a couple of transfers (Shelbyville and Culleoka), CA won lots of games over the summer and the new coach has brought a sense of energy along with winning attitude to the team.. MP also has new coach and she is very similar to the style of CA's new coach, MP returns four starters and a few good freshmen, they too won some games over the summer.. It will be interesting to see how District 11 A pans out.. District 12 A is a different breed.. 1) Summertown - loaded with talent and also got 3/4 transfers from Lawrence Co High.. they will he hard pressed to beat.. 2) Loretto - new coach and return several starters from last year plus have some good freshmen.. they can give Stown a good game.. 3) Collinwood - they have arguably the best player in the district with some talent to help.. they will be the one to upset Summertown if they play to their capabilities.. 4) Wayne Co - pretty much the same nucleus returning.. 4) Perry Co - pretty much the same nucleus returning .. 4) Frank Hughes - pretty much the same nucleus returning.. Note: WC , C'wood and PC are up in the air for 4th spot...

Predictions... District 11A District 12A Columbia Academy Loretto Mt. Pleasant Wayne Co Richland Frank Hughes Santa Fe Summertown Cornersville Collinwood Hampshire Perry Co MP's best player is out for the year with torn ACL, believe his last name is Smith, but MP returns 3 solid starters and they are very athletic.. CA returns Cary twins and multi purpose athlete, Thompson.. Richland will be better since they were young last year.. Santa Fe has big guy Winchester back.. Cville loses top three scorers and Hampshire also loses "the big three" that accounted for 98 percent of the scoring.. Loretto returns just about everybody, but with some injuries to football players, they should be strong come Dec or Jan.. Wayne Co also returns 3 starters .. Frank Hughes returns 4 starters, plus got two transfers from Miami.. Summertown will be about the same as last year but with no post player, it will hurt them..Collinwood loses entire starting lineup. PC loses 7/8 seniors from last year ..

Been told here in west tn that an AAU coach named Jim Cole (?) has been named the "interim coach".. he is the coach of the AAU team Extreme... it was rumored he was hired to help the new girls coach at Columbia Academy but when the Central job came open, he applied.. Reason for the interim tag is because he is not a certified teacher and will not be on the faculty at Central.. only to coach.. biggest controversy on this is about how Maury Co Schools is paying him... I rather not disclose it since I do not know for sure if it is true or not.. but it is a bit controversial..

Lincoln Co beats Columbia Central 17-0... Is Lincoln back from their glory days or is Central that bad? I really thought Central was gonna beat them since they re-loaded their coaching staff..

It can be 8 TDs but Riverside will be playing their JV pretty much the entire 2nd half... lets face it.. PC has no depth, no discipline, no line blocking, no coaching... I have seen them play 3 times in past 2 years and in all 3 games.. a player or two from PC was either ejected or asked to come out of the game for fighting...
