Big Bigby, Could you give your opinion on the best football coach in Middle Tennessee on the thread under football? Also some of the MP parents said Bradley was in town on Thursday looking at homes and trying to see if he is going to be able to hire a couple of assistants. Any coaches in the area you think would be good assistants he could hire. Seems like you follow football in MP more than anyone(also W Holder). What are your thoughts? Thanks for your info!

Walt Smith - Giles County- I have seen him coach several years at MTP and Zion. Runner-up in the state this year at Giles County. At MTP he had some very good football players at skill positions and on the line. He has a great offensive mind and is able to motivate he kids to mesh together. At Zion, he took some average kids and made them believe they could win. He got them to the playoffs and had some big wins. I sure did hate to see him leave the Eagles Nest but I understand he had higher dreams. Once again at Giles, he has taken great talent and gotten them to believe in the team concept. I have talked to some of his past players and they say he is a players coach. He puts his players in good situations to make big plays. Go Eagles! Go Tigers!

Big Bigby, Of all people to get on here and tell me what to do! You have consistently dogged the administration and AD at MTP for not letting you know what's going on as far as the hiring is concerned. You acted like you are the MTP - Director of Football Operations! That's all you talked about for about three pages. And questioning that's all you have done to AD and school. I was not baiting Wildcat89, even told him thanks for his kind words. I watch MTP play because I have some friends who have kids that play. I usually see MTP play when Zion is on the road because Zion plays so far away in D2. How many games have you listened or gone too in the last few years? The Brewer guy does a great job on the radio but I have heard him say many times how bad of calls the refs have made against MTP. Maybe you don't think it is a race thing, but I do at times. MTP is one of the only teams that has blacks on their team in the Region. A lot of the refs are guys that come from the old school of thinking. Maybe not their fault but definitely a different mindset. (Again just my opinion). I do like Zion but I also like MTP but you act like you don't want anyone else to support MTP. I never had any problem with Wildcat89 seems like a " cool cat."So just make sure before you throw a stone, look at yourself in the mirror first. Regardless, I will still support MTP when I can and start that D2 thread soon, hope you stop by to comment. What do you know about Coach Bradley?

Thanks for your kind words! I just get tired of MP getting a bad rap from other teams because they have blacks on their team. I'm not saying that's what you meant. But a lot of people say MP has athletes not good football players and also have discipline problems. I have seen many teams in the region who looks like they have discipline problems also but no one on hear says a word about it cause their kids are white. Wildcat89, I'm just curious, what do you mean about discipline? I know several players on the team and they seemed to be disciplined the last several years. When you say athletes what does they mean? The players love the hire and I think he will do well. I trust their feeling on this one.

Sorry late getting in on the situation but why should TSSAA worry about transfers when they can make 6 digit salaries and let it go. I have watched high school athletics the last few years and it continues to get worse. There are some cases that should be approved but how many transfers have you heard of that have been denied. Probably none! Because most of the time parents are lying so their kids can play at a better program. This is what a Athletic Director told me once at my high school. The only way a school will get in trouble is if they turn themselves in it looks like. Why want they split private and public schools ? I believe the TSSAA is afraid they will lose their 6 digit salaries. I wish they could hire some more people and check the transfer more closely. Thanks! I respect everyone's opinion!

Big Bigby, Boy this is a tough start for a new head coach. The first four games are against tough opponents for sure. I just feel like Williams and the committee will get a good coach. Williams was on the committee that brought in Coach W. Smith. He turned out to be a great coach for the Tigers, Eagles and the Bobcats now. I thought Smith did a great job at Zion with only a little talent. He always assembles a great staff. I heard the reason it is hard to get coaches in Maury co. School system is because they did away with athletics during the school day. Anybody that wants to say Williams was on the committee that hired Hoath is correct but really had no final say on the hire. This is what the MP players parents have told me for the last two years. Big Bigby besides Crawford and Smith who else will the Tigers count upon this year? W. Holder did you work on Smith's staff your name looks familiar. Man when ya came to Zion in the Marco Dailey years, I don't think we ever touched him. Where is he now? One of the best high school football players I have ever seen in person. I saw him against Zion and in some playoff games. Hope ya get a good coach! I believe Williams and company will pull another Smith out of the hat. Since getting out of school I have always enjoyed going to MP football games. Maybe should have put Wolavert ( was that the MP principal? ) on the committee as a consultant. What isn Hamilton's coaching background? Did he coach at P.C. As an assitant?

What happened to Hamilton and MP girls job ? Is he from MP?
