  1. I've heard the Pioneers will be much improved this year. The new coach has brought in much needed discipline and a toughness not seen in a few years, hopefully this will transfer onto the game field. What is the rest of Pioneer Nation thinking? (all you dekalb people we really don't care what ya'll think)
  2. How is spring going? Are the numbers still up
  3. From what I heard the Pioneers didn't look too shabby, picking up the offense pretty good for first day out in pads. It should be interesting to see how things shake out in the QB battle because I was told They have two or three receivers that are a threat and whoever the new rb that wears 1 is turning some heads. If the o line and defense come around as some think it will, things might be turning around in McMinnville.
  4. 87 is a great number to have. One of the problem areas in the past has been depth at every position. Hopefully all those kids can develop and allow the Pioneers to play 4 quarters and not fade. Keep up the good work and it'll pay off
  5. I believe the Pioneers start spring practice on April 21. Who are the people to be looking out for, do they have any scrimmages lined up? A lot of questions to be answered for Coach Smith and the team.
  6. My good friend had a son play in this game last and he said they had a great experience. I think it was only about $250 for a great week of football and the best part was that it was held during the dead period so it didn't keep him from any high school team activities.
  7. Great addition to the staff. He will ruffle a few parent feathers but will bring some much needed toughness to the team. I heard he will be working mostly with the freshman but hope he works with the varsity defensive line.
  8. The most important thing the Pioneers and their fan base needs is to be patient. It took over 20 years for the program to get this bad and it won't be fixed over night. The second most important thing they need to do is take a good look in the mirror, there have been a lot of coaches in those 20 years and not much success yet a lot of those coaches have went on to be successful at other places. Quit all the bickering about "my kid was a star in youth ball so he should be the star now". I hope Coach Smith can turn it around and I believe he can as long as all the "experts" let him. It's almost like the scenes from the barber shop in the movie "Radio". At least let the man go thru spring practice before ya'll start complaining.
