  1. I agree, pretty bold comments before district tourney time, where anything can happen. However, I do agree that the district is weak overall. My question is how well can they do against 5-AAA teams come region time?
  2. Walker Valley wins 7-6 over Ooltewah. WV took a 7-0 lead into the 7th inning, but opened the inning with two costly errors and a bad hop to give Ooltewah a chance to win.
  3. They lost today to East Hamilton as well. I haven't seen them play lately, but have heard that their overall performance has dropped since the beginning of the season. However, Walker Valley has also been battling injuries throughout the course of the season. Their pitcher has been battling injuries all year, the 2013 all-state Hallie Davis just came back Monday from an ankle injury, and they had an outfielder out today at EH. Make no mistake, any of the top four teams in District 5-AAA could win the District Tournament next week including Walker Valley, especially if they get healed up. That district this year has been very competitive.

Walker Valley (26-10) - Key Wins: East Hamilton, Soddy Daisy, Cookeville 6. East Hamilton (16-7) - Key Wins: Ooltewah, Silverdale, Soddy 7. Whitwell (17-4) - Key Wins: Marion (2), Ooltewah (2) 8. Silverdale (16-9) - Key Wins: Soddy Daisy, CSAS 9. Marion County (21-5) - Key Wins: CSAS, Sequatchie 10. CSAS (12-7-2) - Key Wins: Walker Valley As of late Ooltewah has been hot, it will be interesting as they have two matchups with Walker Valley this week. East Hamilton also has Walker Valley this week. So, alot on the line in District 5-AAA this week.
  5. You're right! Thanks for catching that!
  6. Lady Trojan Invitational Gold Bracket Winner is Soddy Daisy over Wilson Central. Silver bracket winner is Silverdale over Knox Powell.
  7. They have a couple of quality wins, but have been very inconsistent.... And the district is very weak. However, one could definitely argue with them being in one of the last couple slots.
  8. Another exciting week of softball in the Chattanooga area in the books. A lot of exciting games being played. Top 10 For 4/13-4/20 1. Baylor (19-3-1) 2. Soddy Daisy (18-6) 3. GPS (10-4) 4. 9. East Hamilton moves to 1st in District 5-AAA. Soddy, Walker Valley, and Ooltewah follow them in that order.
  10. The District 5-AAA race is heating up, here are the standings per available reported scores: 1. Walker Valley (5-1) - Losses: Bradley Central 2. East Hamilton (5-2) - Losses: Walker Valley, Ooltewah 3. Soddy Daisy (5-2) - Losses: Walker Valley, East Hamilton 4. Ooltewah (5-3) - Losses: Soddy Daisy (2), East Hamilton 5. McMinn County (2-5) - Wins: Cleveland, Bradley Central 6. Bradley Central (2-5) - Wins: Walker Valley, Cleveland 7. Cleveland (0-7) - Wins: None
  11. Walker Valley gets upset by Bradley in district 5-AAA, 4-2. A real shocker right there. Ooltewah thumps Cleveland.
  12. In District 5-AAA McMinn County beat Cleveland yesterday, 14-3. Then, McMinn County traveled to Walker Valley today and lost, 11-1 in 5.
  13. Good win for East Hamilton! Will definitely by an exciting race down the stretch in 5-AAA. If Ooltewah gets hot at the right time, it could be the most competitive 5-AAA tournament we have ever seen.
  14. Interesting article about the success that young pitchers in this area have enjoyed in the TFP today. Also interesting is that two of the better teams in this area, Soddy Daisy and Walker Valley, have held out their stats to this point in the season.
  15. Top 10 for 3/30-4/5 1. Baylor (10-1) 2. Walker Valley (14-3) 3. Soddy Daisy (10-3) 4. GPS (4-1) 5. Silverdale Baptist (11-3) 6. Whitwell (11-1) 7. Marion County (10-3) 8. East Hamilton (7-2) 9. CSAS 10. Meigs County Records are based mostly off the CoachT reported scores, so some records are not correct. Haven't had a chance to see some of the smaller teams play, so last part is a toss up.
  16. Yes, meant they were distancing themselves as one of the top two in the district. Big rematch between the two in 2 weeks.
  17. Final Scores from the Summit: Ooltewah - 0 Central - 2 Silverdale Baptist - 4 Farragut - 5 Soddy Daisy - 7 Farragut - 2 Soddy Daisy - 0 Silverdale Baptist - 2 Big win for Silverdale. Lost one run games to Central, East Hamilton, and Farragut, nice to see them come up with a good win.
  18. Wrong choice of wording Sent home with loss. Marion County takes a 10-5 victory over Coffee County. With the rain heading in, looks like the awesome lineup of games at the Choo Choo Classic will be in danger this weekend.
  19. Walker Valley bows out of the Gulf Coast Classic with a loss in the 2nd round. Finished 5-2 to push their record to 14-3. Soddy Daisy beat Ooltewah again 13-0 to distance themselves from the rest of the 5-AAA field. Upcoming Soddy, East Hamilton game should be interesting.
  20. Polk County pushes their record to 9-2 with a win over Sequoyah today (8-6). Walker Valley takes two games in Alabama to push record to 13-2.
  21. East Hamilton edge Silverdale Baptist 6-5. Walker Valley goes 2-1 in the Gulf Shores Classic. Soddy Daisy went 4-1 in the Chevron Tournament this past weekend in Kentucky, then went to watch former Soddy Daisy standout Kelsey Nunley pitch for the University of Kentucky.
  22. Top 10 for the Week of 3/23-3/29 1. Baylor 2. Walker Valley (9-1) 3. Soddy Daisy (7-1) 4. GPS 5. Silverdale Baptist (9-0) 6. Whitwell 7. CSAS 8. East Hamilton 9. Central 10. Meigs Not many schedule on CoachT are filled our, so the records may not reflect completely.
  23. Soddy Daisy - 10 Ooltewah - 0 Soddy Daisy rode a freshman pitcher (Shonna Penney, I believe) in that game. She'll be a good one for Soddy down the road!
  24. Good wins for Whitwell Ooltewah has also picked up two district 5-AAA wins the past two days: Yesterday: Ooltewah - 11 Bradley Central - 1 Ooltewah - 12 McMinn County - 2
  25. Very exciting Soddy Daisy/Walker Valley game. They are the clear-cut top two teams in district 5-AAA. Will be fun to watch these two teams duke it out in the second regular season game and in the district tournament.
