  1. I don't know what will happen in the playoffs or next year. All I know that Friday night our boys were shaken at the start of the game as one of their peers left in an ambulance. One TE out, the other gets injured and it slowed our Offense. Excuse maybe. It threw a wrench in the system. If you replace a 6'6 260 pounder with a 6'2 205 pounder blocking on the edge it makes a difference. You claim to know so much about Cookeville, then you know that the TE is a big part of the running game. The back-up did well, but he was playing injured and both ways. Then didn't play for a spell. It had an impact on the game. How much, we will never know. You two Upperman homers can slam Cookeville all you want. I have watched games for years. I have watch Cookeville for years. This team isn't Blackman and Oakland. I know that. Riverdale and Siegel are the next tier. Then you have Smyrna and Lavergne. Then Stewarts Creek. Where Cookeville falls, who knows. I think in the middle (wrong or right). UCM, I think you should go see Coach Maynord and help him with the schedule. You are very obsessed with what he does and who he schedules. I
  2. How many appearance would RuCo have if it weren't for taking each other out and Maryville??? Cookeville is a work in progress. This team is better than most Cookeville teams that I have seen. I think Coach Maynord has them going in the right direction. It will be hard week in and week out in Murfreesboro. We will see. I give the RuCo schools their props. They are SEC of 6A. Maryville/Whitehaven are others that you have to deal with yearly. The rest of us are trying to get there.
  3. Cookeville football is not where it needs to be!!!! I think anyone around their program would tell you that. They have a long way to go to compete with Blackman and Oakland. I personally think that they can play with the rest of the RuCo teams this year. It was a close game until late in the fourth quarter. I do think that they kinda let up after coming up short on fourth down. It went from 24-17 to 38-17 quick. However I do think it was a very very competitve game. Cookeville played without their starting TE, who is a big key in the offense(blocking). They didn't know that he wasn't playing until 2 minutes before kickoff. Be interesting to see how Lavergne and Siegel play out this week. UCM-we know how you feel about Cookeville, their coaches, players, and program. Therapy Man. Therapy. Johnny-guess Cookeville should schedule the powerhouse Bee's in the future.
  4. There you go again. Lavergne was the better team on this night. Do you even know the entire story of how the game unfolded. It was a bad night for the Cavs even before the game. The score doesn't indicate how the game went. I would say that these two teams are again pretty similar. Very close game until the Cavs failed on forth and five.
  5. I expect this to be a good game. Should be worth the price of admission. WCP glad to see you are still keeping up with Cookeville. Haven't heard from you in a while.
  6. UCM=biggest Cookeville hater of all time. We will talk Saturday morning.
  7. You can't help yourself can you???? Your hate for Cookeville is glaring. What is the real reason?
  8. Hearing more than that. Better jump now UHSMAN (UCMAN)......
  9. I will agree that culture is different in Cookeville. I also think that it may be a sleeping giant about to be woke up. Track team at state, baseball at state, tennis at state, soccer at state, softball one out away from state. I do think that football and basketball have been lacking. However i think football is on the upswing, give it time. I think the politics and papas will not influence Jimmy Maynord. i think that last year he made a mistake by playing two qb's and will not let it happen again. I think the mind set of this years team will be completely different. I sure hope so. That is what i have been hearing at work every other day. If they stay healthy then they should surprise even you.
  10. Cookeville is playing in the playoffs the teams of which you speak. You speak so magically about Gordonsville, LA, Dekalb-How many times did they beat a Jimmy Maynord coached team. I can tell you. Gordonsville-0, La-1, Dekalb-1, and just for giggles UHS-0. I think that for some reason you have a problem with Cookeville sports in general. Give Jimmy Maynord the chance and he will turn it around. By the looks of the scrimmage, it is changing. I know that almost every kid with talent in the school has been asked to play. They are playing with what showed up. Numbers are numbers, and players are players. I think that Jimmy Maynord will get the best out of what shows up. PS-I think that these scrimmages that you hold in such esteem are looked at by different people. For instance, UHS stormed the field last year verses CHS. CHS just went about their business this year playing different kids and working on different things. UHS played about 15 kids. CHS played about 65. Scrimmages mean nothing. I have seen a scrimmage where Ensworth mopped the field with Maryville. That didn't mean squat. Maryville got much better all year long. Ensworth was exactly the same the few times that i watched them. At the end of the year it would have been a better matchup. That is why Saban calls it a process. Not a win all end all on each day. Big Reid, I have watched Jimmy enough to know if he don't like whats going on he lets everyone know. Quite a tantrum thrower. Tantrums seem to get results.
  11. Rhea Co. was one of the top teams in 5A last year, and will be again this year. I myself predict them to win the district and make a long playoff run, along with Cleveland. Again, the current staff didn't make the schedule. However, Lebanon, Lavergne, are from different regions and decent. Not great but decent. I guess we could play UHS schedule. The Cavs schedule will get tougher as the years go by. They may even bite the bullet and step up and play UHS. That would really toughen up the schedule. Then when they beat UHS handily, you will say poor 3A playing big bad 6A. If they don't play, then you will say CHS was scared. You need to quit talking out both sides, and just say why you really don't like CHS. Daddy ball and politics, sure. The real reason. On a side note. Pemberton was at Catholic for two of those. One and one at Macon. One at Rhea. I will give you that point. First one that you were clear and concise with. However when CHS beats Rhea this year, then I want to hear you give them their due credit because they aren't supposed to win. I know that will be hard for you. PS-I'm not a stalker, just trying to keep up with the spewing of one person. I have read his stuff for over a year. He is very outspoken, and very biased towards certain places. Some of my coworkers encouraged me to do this as he is typing about some of their kids.
  12. Some did talk SEC, and most talked body builder. You only know the ones on here. I worked with many who said otherwise. No one cares what you think Posty. We only hear from you when Westy is decent. When they aren't then you go and hide. How long will it be until you hide again??? SC has had a pretty good 15 year run. Talent runs in cycles and right now I hear it is down. I also hear that there is some on the way. However those good folks don't run and hide, they just keep on keeping on. When they get good again UCM and Posty can have a party together.
  13. You need to go look at combine numbers on laser forties. Predicting 8AA has been pretty easy. SC and then LA. Now its LA (POST Maynord 11-1 vs LA). UHS had its one year wonder. Back to the real world for them. iSince you are so good at predictions go to Vegas and win you some money. Manning was always talked about about his physical stature, not his performance. He is one rocked up kid, which made him too stiff to be a complete back. Most from SC said that from the get go. He gets his chance to play at TTU, and prove everyone wrong. However you keep acting like you know everything. We are listening.
  14. RCS BIRMINGHAM OUTSTANDING UNDERCLASSMEN TE GABE ANGEL, COOKEVILLE (TENN.) (2016) Angel was the most athletic tight end at the camp and created separation with consistency. The only problem was that his quarterbacks constantly overshot him, which made for a frustrating day. But it's easy to see why Tennessee and Vanderbilt are trying to keep him in state. 8. RB GABE ANGEL, LEBANON (TENN.) WILSON CENTRAL Angel is a big power back who showed he can catch out of the backfield. He made a few grabs downfield on wheel routes and was consistently able to create separation. If Angel continues to grow, some recruiting pundits may try to insist on a switch to defense. However, right now he is at his best with the ball in his hands. Angel was a very impressive young man on Sunday at the DI training facility in Franklin, TN. He was one of the top overall athletes competing Sunday and looked well beyond his years with his mature body and talents on the field. Angel can seriously run for his size and could translate to many positions on the field on the college level. He was previously recruited by the old Vanderbilt staff as a running back but it is unknown at this time where the new staff likes him. He is one of the top targets not only on Vanderbilt’s recruiting list for 2016 but also many, many others. Angel has enough talents to either be a pass catching tight end on offense or even possibly a rush linebacker on defense. He is still growing and maturing but is looked at as one of the top prospects nationally in the recruiting class of 2016. There are many more articles. You can research and read yourself. Of course I'm sure you will have more to say.
  15. 4 TE Gabe Angel Cookeville (Tenn.) (2016) Angel is relatively new to the tight end position, but he's taken to it quite well and looks like he'll end up being one of the state's top pass catchers in his class. He showed good speed and very good hands will blowing by linebackers in one-on-ones. Angel began his career as a running back and his athleticism serves him very well in the passing game.
  16. UCM. I don't know much about a lot of things, but recruiting is one. Especially UT recruiting. Gabe Angel has been to camps all over the US. In every camp that he has attended, he has been on the Top Performers list. That includes running a 4.58 at the Rivals Camp in January, and a 4.61 Laser time at IMF camp in May. That is not world class speed, but it is pretty dang good. The SEC schools say he is plenty of fast enough for what they want him for. His ability to compete, get open, and maneuver his large frame is uncanny for someone with his size and weight. He trains every Sunday with the best in Middle TN at IFM. Scouts say he holds his own and even impresses. We know you have a biased. If he was at Upperman, you would be worshipping him. IE the way you did Conner. Conner was a good player. He ended up with basically a Walk-On offer at ETSU and TTU (Was told this personally by his head coach). Angel has committable offers from 5 SEC schools. Please keep showing your biased..
  17. You proved my point. Cookeville in the second round would be better than last year. Just keep flapping them fingers and sit behind that computer and spit at CHS. I put CHS to make a decent run. Maybe third round depending on the draw. Maybe at some point you will give this currrent team and coaches a little credit, until then.
  18. It is an 8AA thread. The scrimmage was against your beloved 8AA Upperman Bees. Angel was on the field for 10 offensive plays and 10 defensive plays. Touched the ball around 5 times. Believe what you want. Barring any injuries, the Cavs will be much better. They handled Upperman with ease Friday. If you quit spitting CHS name, then I will quit posting. I am sure that I will talk to you again when CHS/Livingston plays in the Jamboree. I have been a long time follower of the Upper Cumberland. I made this name to keep up with you. You talk out both sides of your neck. I have been on CoachT since 2003. I just didn't want to post under my other account. I will be following your posts, and see which team you bash, which team you support. Happy posting!!!
  19. Well a lot of the stuff you say reflect back on the current staff. If you respect Coach Maynord so much, then you might want to be more specific. It seems like you are typing alot of venom. There are alot of kids walking the halls at CHS. I have been told by some teachers that this staff has beat the hallways asking anyone who is tough enough to come out and give it shot. The ones that showed are on the team. The others don't have what it takes, or are already trying to specialize in something else. Your point is given with Boro schools. I think what you mean to say is the demographics are much different and year in and year out CHS has had a hard time keeping up. Maybe that will change, maybe it won't. You might want to try supporting the current staff instead of slamming CHS everytime you type. I think Jimmy did fine while at SCHS, and given time will get it right at CHS. Don't jump on the bandwagon when it gets going. I think it is beginning to roll. Didn't you see alot of difference from last year??
  20. Thought you would be on here chirping. Took longer than expected though. You refuse to give Cookeville any credit. Is it CHS or Jimmy Maynord that you don't like. It is obvious that you have some sort of issue. I hope you can get over it at some point. No one said Cookeville was world beaters, but even ole UCM can see that the Cavs are going to be better and you can't stand it. By the way, the schedule was made be the last group of coaches, not the current one. However, I'm sure the CAVS would greatly appreciate your support, and quit bashing the coaches and kids!!!!! By the way, since you watched the scrimmage, how was the daddy ball????
