  1. No I do it just because I know it makes you a little angry haha. WCP isn't here to do it.
  2. The other side of this is he has won 10 games since taking over a 13 win team. With 15 losses on top of that (to this point). If he knows what play they are going to run, why doesn't he do something to stop it? If it is a matter of translating it to the field then he needs to figure out why things aren't producing and try to make something happen. After watching his current team play I see that he has a couple studs in the backfield but not a lot out wide. Why are you running a spread offense if this is the case? Go to a power run game and use the run to open up the passing game not the pass to open up the running game. My dad once told me that if I was no longer going to be a good investment then he would no longer invest in me. If he watches this much opponent's film then maybe he needs to watch his own film in the same way and see where his investment of time is taking him and cut out what isn't paying. Greg Abner is only slightly better than his brother who didn't work out at Hendersonville because he had too many vices. Wilhoit is a great kicking coach and sent many kids to college, but what was the field goal percentage last year ( I will say the kid they have now is good)? Levi Brown, great Quarterback, but still yet to be seen as an offensive coordinator because he isn't adjusting his team to what he has on the field. This reminds me of the defensive coordinator that UT brought in that finally brought Dooley down. Great position coach, but refuses to change to a fault. Coach Perry (old one) was a great coach and I remember always scrimmaging them at Hendersonville because Coach Hatfield wanted us to be a tougher team. Coach Perry (younger one) can't get out of his daddy's shadow unless he makes it his team and wins with it. If the Athletic Director doesn't grab the reins here he might not have a say in the matter when Mel Brown drops the hammer. You might be right since you spend so much time with them, but what the rest of the town sees is something else and at some point the kids that would have thought about going over to MJ will take a trip the other direction to WC.
  3. What keeps MJ in this game is they know they are supposed to beat Lebanon. I am excited to see the outcome.
  4. I don't think it is all bad, but I do think that you have more bad than good. The coach you are talking about at MJ is the brother in law of the HC and I feel that he is in a bad situation. He is a former player and was a great player while at MJ. He bleeds black and gold (not silver). I hope that if something were to happen he would stay at MJ. I know for a fact that he does great things with the middle school and weight lifting program.
  5. I think that WC has been the the best team in the county the last two years, but something mentally keeps them from winning against MJ. I think they have them this year. Good luck to your son and tell him to keep playing hard and they will break the mental part of it this year. I've been hearing a lot of good things going on with WC and it looks like they have turned some kids lives around for the better including a former MJ player that I bet they are missing on the field right now.
  6. Sure... that is why I took the time to type it out.
  7. I don't think he gets fired, however, if he doesn't get the wins up he is already on the hotseat with the school/community. He can no longer go off of the success of his father and the 2 semifinal teams when he wasn't head coach. He has twitter wars with students and former players. The students at the school support the team, but not him. I think this goes for his the teachers at MJ as well. Yes, the facilities are amazing, but MJ also has the second highest disposable income in the state behind Franklin and can afford to help the school in these ways. I never heard of a team that only takes a travel team on the road and not the entire varsity team that is at practice everyday. I would think all hands on deck would apply in the case when you are 1-3. When you look at programs that are successful year in a year out you see some sort of consistency, especially in the coaching staff. His longest tenured coach on varsity is his brother-in-law and a wide receivers coach that never played varsity football (from my understanding not proven). I have watched a MJ practice once or twice and have seen him belittle his coaches in from of the players to the point where they just shook their heads and gave less effort than before. Only certain coaches are allowed to address the team after the games and after practice. There has to be something to this and why they don't win. When you make a position coach look bad in front of his players the players question things. They will then do one of two things back their position coach and try hard for them or quit trying as hard because you don't believe. There is no psychology of coaching with this and does not benefit the teams success on the field
  8. As an outsider living in wilson county I see this as a chance to be as unbiased as they come on this board. Lebanon has a lot of talent at the school, however, they do not get those kids to play as many sports as you would at a school like MJ. Is Lebanon better than they have been in years past, yes. Are they better than MJ, maybe. There is no way to say that either team is better than the other. I do know that Lebanon has been with Harp long enough that his senior class will have been in the system to learn it now, and will have taken advantage of his workout program for the past three years. Since I live in MJ I don't really know what his program consists of, but to win as many championships, regardless of classification, as he has it must work. Lebanon is by no means a state championship caliber team, but they are definitely better than they were last year. Quality of wins on both sides are not very strong though. All teams Lebanon has beaten combine for one win as does MJ's lone win against a one win team. I thought Ravenwood was a better team than what I saw on TV friday night, but they looked sloppy against a very talented Centennial team. I tend to agree that the students and community have taken a wait and see approach to the MJ staff now that papa has taken a backseat to the baby bear. In MJ it's almost like talking to someone in Stalingrad during communism. No one wants to discuss the feelings of the coaches around each other because it sounds like he takes it out on the kids of those that quit while at school and talks bad about them. I think that he has lost support of those who he needs to have the support of. Sometimes kids need football more than football needs the kids playing. Sorry it is so long, but I think that Lebanon has a strong chance of winning this one based off of MJ's arrogance that they are the better team and Lebanon knows they have to reassert themselves in the county as well as an up and coming program. Lebanon by 7 BTW Kisler I talked to someone that knows Coach Worsham who was at MJ and was told he is still coaching with a middle school team outside of cookeville and currently undefeated. I remember you talking about him before and thought you would want to know.
  9. Agree, Lebanon is just excited they finally won a game. CR took the Commandos to the 3rd quarter. I still think they will be a tough game for the bears, but they have played a tougher schedule than most to this point. Wilson central might be the better Wilson county team this year, but they have been in the past too and still can't win the games they need to.
  10. I'll eat a little crow on that one! Great game bears! Keep getting better
  11. I'm pretty sure he wasn't dogging the talent. He was questioning if the players were in the best place to make plays.
  12. So is Roger not doing anything now? I know I've seen him on the sideline.
  13. Last time I checked you got served by Kisler
  14. no, QB from last year that made plays happen. he was slicker than wet glass.
  15. I would think that as a coach you would have to realize you must base your offense and defense off what you have in the pantry, not what you would like to buy from the store. Ravenwood can put up the points though and outscore their opponent. They gave up 27 points to siegal and 17 to brentwood which are two teams year in and year out that are good teams. I think both are down this year, but will bounce back. Whoever said that MJ is in a rut hit the nail on the head. They are like their jerseys/helmets, no identity. They have to find who and what works for them and be realistic about it. They do not have the talent oakland and blackman have to run a spread offense. I think it worked (edit* sort of) last year because Chowbay made it work.
  16. it had not occurred to me Ravenwood has given up 44 point through the first 2 games. Not that it will make much difference this week, but that won't work down the road.
  17. I forgot about lebanon. I like a good blue uniform. White house has some good ones too.
  18. I thought that the new logo they put on several years ago was a much needed change. I love Hendersonville's helmets, I think that Gallatin has good jerseys that are timeless (not in grey however), but the helmet/jersey combination is one of my favorite with MJ. Not anymore though, the grey jerseys looked bad last year. The claw marks on the numbers look worse this year. Beech tries to look like UT though and it looks terrible. Hendersonville's camo numbers I like, a little, and glad that they are at least playoff jerseys. Station Camp's numbers look bad and I can't stand them anyway!
