  1. I am trying to pick who wins, not who I want to win (pulling for Peabody). To earn more points in this bracket competition, I have to bet on who has the best chance and I just think that is NCS. Go Peabody...beat the out of NCS!
  2. Greenback over Columbia Academy NCS over Peabody Hate picking NCS, just breaks my teenage candy crush loving heart
  3. Round 3 Harriman over Greenback Columbia Academy over South Pitt NCS over WC (although that will break my little candy crush loving heart) Peabody over Dresden
  4. Maybe we will see him playing in orange. It is a tough transition from high school to college ball, especially coming from 1A. But with his size, if he works hard, he might take the field someday. What is happening with Booker, who played at NCS a few years ago. Is he still playing? That kid was fast! Congrats to NCS for the win last night. In true form though, pulling for WC!
  5. Okay, you are right. Coming from the 3 to the house, that is great. Props to NCS for that.
  6. Do not let these guys score on a punt return. Make them earn it. Come on Mustangs. Send NCS home! Update please/

  8. Hey stirringitup, you talking to this fish? If NCS says ALL the starters were out by half, then I totally believe them. After all, they are a Christian school and would never do anything suspicious. When they did substitute, will agree their freshman and sophomores still beat up on CA. Friday night, CA was severely outmatched. But when you have 70 players on a team, you seem to have more depth to choose from. Don't know if they have 70, but they have a heck of a lot more players than most 1A schools.
  9. Explain to me again how many hours a week your recruits "work" on and around campus to pay off the hefty NCS tuition? Please tell me so I can convince my parents we can "afford" NCS. I want to be a Eagle and play with the greatest team ever. Please tell me quick, this "young un" has homework to do.
  10. Can either of you NCS dads answer the question, is NCS moving out of 1A or is that just smack talk? And how is this for class...when your up and have a running clock, why not pull the starters and not run up the score? Oh forgot, your NCS. Btw, looks like the recruiting went exceptionally well again this season. Work study is really "paying" off. Really, really hope your season ends Friday night.
  11. Pulling for Huntingdon on this one, much classier team than NCS. I have seen Huntingdon play earlier in the season and wow, such a talented team. This was before the injuries so I am hoping they bring it all and send NCS home for the season. Is the chatter about NCS moving to 2A true?
  12. Heard on twitter NCS players are saying that hit was pay back for I'm guessing the blocking to your son last season. The difference, with CA, it was scared small players that thought your son was the easiest to block. But last night was a grown man weighing about 230 hitting a somewhat lanky kid weighing 140. Was it targeting...I don't know? I certainly hope not. Have heard the CA player is okay, just recovering from the biggest hit he ever got. I guess he should get ready if he plays D1 college ball because on that field, they are all grown men. Just thankful he will be okay and no one else was seriously injured.

  14. NCS coach is smart and others need to take a lesson from him to not play starters after the half, especially if ahead. Don't know why some coaches continue to play starters to the last second, even when the score is way up or if you are so far behind there is no chance at all. At that point, build for the future. Also, not worth the added risk of injuring starters when you have a small roster to begin with. Maybe if you were 5A or 6A, you could afford to lose a few, but most of these teams don't have the numbers or players that could (minus several from NCS and a few from other schools) play above 1A and ever see the field. Not worth the risk and now going into the playoffs, lots of teams are hurting and scrambling.
  15. The freshman QB is very good mechanically and despite being so small, will do well playing in 1A. He has been and will continue be a great asset for CA in the coming years. He should absolutely be commended for stepping in as a freshman and playing so tough and taking lots of big hits. I heard he broke his collar bone against HC so he probably is done for the season. As far as #15, the senior QB, that has been a loss for CA. With him in, the run game is harder to stop. I heard Hood has been holding him out for the playoffs so if he is back, CA might give NCS more competition Friday night. Now I don't think CA can pull out the win, but at least with #15, they might be able to put some points on the board.
  16. The entire 1A league has been weak the past few seasons. If you notice, when CA in particular wins big, it is against almost "youth ball type" teams. But when they play a good team, WC or Huntington, they can't keep up. I do though want to be positive and reiterate what the previous poster said, that CA has done very well with low numbers. If anything, they are more conditioned than other teams often giving them a competitive edge.
  17. Wishing HC the best and hoping they get the win over JB. What a great group of players and coaches. To bring this team from where they were last season to the play offs, incredible. Predicting a close game, HC 21, JB 14.
  18. Sorry bigb31072 for not answering your question, yes I was at the game and agree with TheUcAlumni it was not much of one. UC executed and ran the ball down NCS's throat the entire game.
  19. Well said. UC absolutely gave the NCS D1 players a real taste of getting hit and playing against kids their own size and look what happened...35-0, 33 yards of offense. If you are truly D1 it is a game changer especially in 1A football. But that didn't happen last night. Congrats again UC.
  20. So with LSU, UT and Ole Miss the score was what....35-0? And with three D1 recruits there was only 33 yards of offense. Not an expert, not a scout, and have nothing to offer but an opinion; one view on an open message board voiced by many. My view still stands that playing D1 is tough and if that was D1 talent playing last night the outcome should have been different. But I guess those that are experts who are making the offers see something I don't. If these players ever actually step on the field and play a down I will admit I was wrong (not that it matters or I matter because again I am just a fan offering an opinion that means nothing to these players or their futures). I honestly wish them luck in college because college ball from NAIA to SEC is no joke...it is definitely NOT 1A ball.
  21. Just saying until they actually play in a college game.... Did make some poor predictions this past season, probably just hopeful predictions. And not pretending to be an expert. But as I said, until these players put on the uniform and play a down, keep living the dream!
  22. Exactly. Not at all criticizing the kids...they are good 1A players. But they are not D1 players. Sorry have been around too many legit D1 players throughout the years and these kids aren't it. Again not saying they aren't good, just doubt they will ever see playing time in the SEC. And after being around legit D1 SEC talent, one player like that can truly put a team (especially in 1A) on his back and get a W or at least contribute to a team scoring and getting more than 33 yards of offense. Sorry NCS fans but you do NOT have 6 D1 players.... Don't worry though, you are not the only team that is living in a dream world. What these players (and parents) don't get is that THIS IS 1A ball....you are playing against 5'6" 150 pound kids. Try playing and actually starting on a 5A or 6A school and then talk. But even then the chances are slim unless you are genetically blessed or can run a legit time...not the 'fat finger" or padding the stats (you know who you are). Laughable that so many of these young players claim they run a 40 faster than men (yes they are men, not boys) leaving college getting drafted in the NFL. And to clarify, anyone can "walk on" at these D1 schools...they need a practice squad. Until you actually suit up and play in a game, you are not a D1 player. Sure you can say "I played at a D1 school," but guess what... you really didn't! Congrats again to UC for a total dominant performance against NCS. Have no doubt you will win the gold ball next week. And for the poster that wrote that all the awards are meaningless and the gold ball is all that matters, YOU ARE RIGHT! I bet every player out there would gladly give back their district awards voted on by coaches or team awards voted on by fellow players to get a gold ball. Another positive, with UC losing so many starters, NCS will probably be the team to beat next season in 1A to get the gold ball.
