  1. OK thanks Big Boy10.... I was assuming and I have been told never to do that the changes were across the board. I guess that is how it is now isn't it?
  2. I have one question since I don't keep up with Memphis hoop, did Penny take the job or not? The earlier blog showed a statement that he was not taking it did he take it or is he as good at lying as he is at playing bball?
  3. How you think this new classification will help Shelby County and Western Tn. in their continual sucess in winning State Championships in basketball? The Memphis area has been strong for years and the double AA schools in rural West Tn., have started to become a bit successful in recent years. While on the girls side rural West Tn. has been a force to be reckon with for years with the new classifications do you think this will make this part of the state stronger in boys and girls hoop or do you all think it will make us weaker? Everyone's opinions are welcomed
  4. How you think this new classification will help Shelby County in basketball? The Memphis area has been stronger for years with the new classification do you think this will make them stronger or should I take this over to the basketball board?
  5. Great job on the part of your coaches, and thanks for not putting that info. on here. I made some comments earlier in the season about some of the QB's shortcomings, and the following weeks he seem to have settled down. Perhaps he or the party that enlighten me about his many roles on the team following that comment will see this and have a chat with him or look at the film and see what he is doing. I do know that out of habit some athletes have rituals that they follow through unknowingly. I have seen basketball players who were great free throw shooters step to the line and go through the same ritual every time and not miss, but when that ritual was changed they could not drop a rock in the ocean. Probably a learned behavior, and whatever the QB is doing he probably does not realizeit and it is part of his regular routine. The (D'burg) quarterback will be the best one to figure it out and use it to his advantage the rest of the way. Thanks again BigPurple and good luck tonight...
  6. Yes, my thinking DHSTennis looks like Ripley and Haywood always have the athletes only the coaching at both places not to good. In this case Ripley is hungry as was Milan and when a team is hungry beware.......
  7. Slick1 here and notice not one post on the game here tomorrow with Ripley. Do not take the Tigers for granted and it has been a few years since they have been a threat however this might be their year as they are sporting a record I think of 4 -4. Trojans 35 -14 over Ripley
  8. That's much better Trojan fan and Milan dude..... sometimes it is good to take a step back, get a breath and re evaluate the situation. Now we can return to normalcy well most of us anyway...... There are times when it's good to lose a game... so the experts say, I don't like losing ever, but I have seen it happen to good teams and it is like a light or a switch is flipped on and the team or person becomes responsive. If that is the case then Trojans let's go do this thang....Heatwave let's hope that Crockett gets tested before the playoffs, because sometimes when a good team like the one you have gets into tight games they don't respond good. Not wishing any misfortune on you unless you are playing the Trojans, but when the heat is on it's nice to know that you work good under pressure and you don't crack.
  9. WOW... thanks Heatwave.... a positive coming from you that is not seen very often but I guess that keeps us on our toes.
  10. dhs tennis..... I heard a similar comment well maybe not as bad as Milan having the worse team in years but there were comments about them not having another not so stellar year and how the Trojan Train was coming down to Gibson county.... I think Heatwave described it as a 'tornado'. Look what happen..... records don't always count and Lexington just like Milan has a lot of pride and tradition. No I don't keep up with all the teams just the ones I deem for REAL" or worthy of my time.... I thought Lexington was fielding a pretty good team. my error... I do still think Crockett will win.....
  11. Base off the fact I have seen Crockett play. I am hoping that the Cavs are focus and not looking toward the district finale next week at Martin Westview. This game is scheduled for Halloween night but like many teams in the area this could change. I do know of at least one Cavs fan that is looking past the remaining season and post season all he sees is the State Championship Trophy with the Cavs holding it, make me think anything short of that will be futile to him or her. I will however stay with the Cavs....too much Jones, final score Crockett 28 Lexington 20
  12. I had no idea these two teams played. Crockett has two very difficult games to close out their season and both are on the road. This week the first of the two is Lexington Tigers, are the undefeated or did Chester County after around 15 yrs of oppression from Lexington finally win? Either way this has the makings of a playoff atmosphere and a game the fans of the winning team will love because it will motivate their repective squad. However the fans of the opposing team can start hopefully looking forward to a rematch somewhere in the playoffs.
  13. Heatwave, imagine my dissappointment Friday night after the D'burg/Milan game. The drive home was a long hard one but guess what, the sun was still shining on Saturday and I was able to move on. I am a man who continually tries to be one that stands by his word and one of my points was now the season was getting to the point that we would see the teams that are "for real" and the "pretenders"..... my Trojans definitely audition very good for the part this past week. Milan has not played that good in a very long time, I listened on the radio as I made the long wet (sobbing tears uncontrolablly) drive home. I continually heard how bad Dyersburg played lets attribute our poor play to the Milan defense. If Milan plays that way the rest of the season "Watch out" and if Dyersburg plays the way they did Friday...... they will get the Emmy at the end of the season for "Best supporting Role of a High School Football team". I love my "Trojans" but good teams handle business and stay focus. I can say this much Friday night proved another thing for me and that is I never thought Northside was as good as the pollsters and everyone else did. I still don't think Liberty is as good as Crockett, but I have not seen them play and as we saw last week on any given night any team can beat another one if everything falls into play. If Northside was indeed as good as everyone thought I don't think they would have got shellack at the reservation like they did. Trojans, we have two very important games left both at home. These are probably our last two games this season in the friendly confines of JC Sawyers stadium. I hope that you will recommit and focus, this Friday a rested Ripley team who has also had two weeks to prepare for you (as did Milan) comes to town. Please work hard and let's handle business. We can take our eyes off playing anyone down the road in the playoffs. Currently, our focus is to win out the remainder of the season and hopefully winning a game or two in the playoffs. in order to gain a little respect. I love my team but Heatwave I did not subscribe to a pair of those 'Rose Colored' eye wear that you are peeping through. It would take a miraculous miracle for us to win any type of championship this year in football. I did not say it would not or couldn't happen, but base off the facts and what I have seen securing a playoff spot and maybe winning a game or two in the playoffs would be the wraps of a pretty good season for the Trojans . Crockett may do better in fact I hope they do, because the better they do in the playoffs, the more respect it brings to west Tn. and our district. Have a great day guys....

  15. Heatwave, you are good live entertainment and you are all over the place. Either you know a lot about football or you enjoy life to the fullest and you love to create chaos. I don't know much about Milan, never been to the school for anything and I know even less about Huntingdon. Therefore I had to surf the net and find out a little about both looks like Huntingdon has a pretty good record. I see they also played Martin Westview hmmmm and lost but so did Milan..... I also saw where there has been a lot of history between these two teams down through the years. Heatwave according to your heading Milan is at Huntingdon.... so I guess considering the home field advantage favors Huntingdon I will go with the Mustangs. Although if by chance on tomorrow night, the Bulldogs should play the game of the year and the Trojans should stink up the Milan football field a Bulldog upset here could renew the Bulldogs momemtum and propel them into the playoffs. Life is short, and now the creme of our districts are starting to rise to the top. I think I said a few weeks ago shortly everyone would start seeing the teams that are "for real" separating themselves from the pretenders. In my opinion there are still some 'Pretenders" out there ranked hiding behind records built on lack luster competition...... YOU WILL BE EXPOSED SOONER THEN YOU THINK.... Go Trojan Train .... choo choo.........
  16. Heatwave, you are a character ( no disrespect intended), you definitely must be very young your posts are a definite indicator. I admire your enthusiasm for your team but honestly (State Championship)? I would settle for a district regular season championship first. You are right ,looks like you will not get beat during the regular season unless there is a miracle in Martin October 31, 2014, however in the playoffs anything can happen. I remember one year the Trojans entered the playoff undefeated all caught up in themselves played the first playoff game at home and got beat...... Be careful because if that happens I am sure me and the other guys will not be seeing you again unless of course it is under some other name. I want you to remember this and I have said it before it's not good to put all your eggs in one basket as great as Crockett Cty., is in your world and in the world of a few others at the end of the day...... TEAM....... working together to win.
  17. Bartlettgrad....I am only seeing your post about the game Friday today, guess it's too late huh? Bartlett has improved since last year so you guys are headed in the right direction. The Trojan train started off slow, but once they got on track you saw the steam roll. We have a multitude of strong backs, each of them can take it to the house at any given point. especially with that young offensive line improving week after week. They are becoming young "beasts' in the trenches. We have another big test this week away from home...we are visiting perennial powerhouse Milan.... I will keep you posted... later dude.
  18. TRJFan1 great assessment of my post, perhaps I speak from the stand point of always wanting more. Now I did not realize the quarterback played as much however I did realized the others players did. This was a very good point, and I value that information and maybe I won't cringe as bad Friday. Just so you know I cringe a lot when Justin Worley goes back in the pocket to throw, especially when he is being chased by the other team defensive backs.... LOL. I am one of those who always want more push push and push and more push. Over the summer I would on occassion see players working out. Now, all of us can see their voluntarily coming to the gym lifting weights and putting in the off season effort, is paying off. I realize the Bulldogs are hungry, and they are at home, but believe me the Trojans are wanting to finish the season 9-1 and hoping to make a deep run in the playoffs. Both teams know what it takes and will bring their A games... on Friday..... Welcome to the page TRJFan my first time seeing you here, glad to have you represent The Black and Gold.
  19. Saw this on the news over the weekend, did not realize they had lost so many. I hate to see community literally give up on their teams, i would think that there would be great talent in that area. I guess need the administration to get serious about sports and start investing in the kids.... Keep it going Golden Wildcats.
  20. @ Black Senator actually my question was to the board, or anyone that had information on Bartlett's team. Thank you Bartlett grad for answering my question, hopefully this will be a good game. Channel Five news is predicting chances of rainon Friday I hope that is after the game. I know there have been several showers in Memphis this week, seeing that Bartlett (I think) is a county school hopefully this mean that their field will be in good condition. Do not want any injuries and definitely not wanting to play on a sloppy field.
  21. As far as pospects go, I assume you are meaning outstanding stellar atheletes on the DHS team. This is a very young team so young in fact a local sports writer mention that most of them are still getting picked up after practice by their moms. Although that is not what a lot of coaches like rest assured that Coach Stowe and his staff have these young men very well coached and they will represent very well. Last week against the 4th ranked and undefeated team from Martin we gained nearly 600 yrds. I am sure that being from Memphis you all are familiar with quickness that will be the case on Friday night as well, because the team is very quick and the defense can definitely get to the ball fast. Not counting Bartlett out because they are I think 6 A, but lets hope the Panthers are overlooking the Trojans. We have a lot to play for and a lot riding on all of our remaining games.
  22. Our team has a date with the Bartlett Panthers this Friday, what is your team record? What notables teams have you beaten?
  23. Rellim51 thanks for the honesty and support, both teams were good on Friday in this case and on this night Dyerburg had a few more weapons at their disposal. , and was able to use them to exploit a few weaknesses of Westview. MG glad to see that someone finally looked at the game program and could see that the 'Trojans" are very young. You are correct that the middle school youth league and YMCA all supportive of our county football. Many of these teams are having great seasons and are feeder systems for both the city school (DHS) and the county (that other in Tn that wears orange). For the Trojans this was suppose to be a down year after all that we lost last year. Everyone was talking about all the youth we had coming back, but the staff and those guys work ethic has paid dividends thus far this season. The Trojans fans are hoping that we can stay focus, and win out the rest of the season positioning us for a long run in the playoffs. You notice we have not gotten very much respect in any of the State. Our getting into the playoffs and pulling some upsets might be what we need to make everyone aware that you can never count the Trojans out.
  24. BPM ..... THANKS we take on all supporters. Yes, the turnovers were a contributing factor, but something I had heard earlier in related posts after the HS vs Crockett game was a attribute to the great defense that Crockett put on the field. The Cavaliers were hungrier on that night then we were. Not saying we were not but their committment to making it happen was a priority. Now if the opportunity should rise again it will be war, especially if we maintain control of the bal...... BPM base off your knowledable posts I think you are a man of sports and there is not truer saying then the one in basketball about "it's hard to beat a good team three times in one season".... ditto "beating a good team two times in football isn't an easy accomplishment either".
  25. Very true JJ about out team speed, and to see that defense and how quick they get to the ball...... great skill set and they are relatively young. Many of them will be back next year, especially the Thomas kid who was the leading rusher last Friday night. If you have seen Crockett Cty's offensive line ....there is one word WOW.... those holes they were creating against Dyersburg my old behind could have gotten at least one touchdown. This is the difference in this years team and last years..... we were bigger, especially our offensive line however....... The Black and Gold is improving there was a noticeable difference this past Friday and this was noted against a quality opponent. "Heatwave" I am not sure who you are referring to when you imply about the 'Beatdown' on the 17th., but I will be glad to escape with a victory. All of us know never take any opponent lightly especially a hungry Bulldog team. The name of the game is to stay focus and committed to achieving the district championship. Yes, the Trojans did get side-tracked but how many times have we seen a team win during the regular season and if or when the rematch came around things were totally different.
