  1. I would hope so that they can give deliver this district more respect than losing to RBS. RBS is doing better but still its RBS... I hope they pull it out
  2. I want to say RBS wins this one and will probably happen but I got to go with 8AA on this one. I would hope that Cannon County could represent enough to beat a team that has not had much success over the past few years. Granted Cannon County has not had much success neither but RBS is on the rise and has been impressing me with there scores against their opponents lately. CC wins 26-19 but would be a big win for RBS if they could pull it out.
  3. I clicked on this forum on the last page looking for some more football talk. Why are we talking about Jordan Craighead and his sports after high school? He didn't even play football in high school? He is irreverent on this forum... I might understand if we were talking about SC baseball but we are not! Lets get back to talking about 8AA football!!!!!
  4. I hate to break it to you but I don't see Clay County being this close to Upperman when the final buzzer goes off. Also Upperman best chance of being a threat for winning 3A was last year and that is long gone. I will be impressed if they win the first round but first got to have a good enough record to make the playoffs. Upperman wins this game by three scores for a homecoming win.
  5. This comment is about par for the course when it comes from a comment from you on a Upperman thread
  6. Dang I sure as heck thought you had more sense than that. LA would beat them by two scores at LA no doubt in my mind
  7. Really? The big guy for York really quit? That was one of York's strong points was height.
  8. I agree, Angel is not a SEC caliber player but the Johnson kid does play harder and does not crumble when the going gets tough. York and McCoin would run circles around him literally. I will give the Angel kid though he does have some size.
  9. Amen. You would think he had a history of years of coaching for the Odessa Permian Panthers or something!! That is it!!!! UCM is Billy Bob Thornton.... how could we be so blind
  10. I have watched Cookeville in two scrimmages against 8AA and they have not impressed me at all. LA mopped the floor with them in every form and fashion, the angel kid has not impressed me at all. Upperman scrimmaged them in the spring and granted it was the spring, but they just did not kill us in all aspects of the game. I honestly think SC will come into this game fired up against some of these seniors old head coach. I think SC will give them a ball game but honestly Cookeville because of depth will win by ONE score. I've heard also from Cookeville natives that if they were in 8AA they would win the district every year... My opinion they would not just dominate it, however they would be contenders.
  11. I just hope it is a healthy game for both sides and that everybody comes out injury free. Last year at Celina the team was dropping like flies. They also did not have too many dressed out, I hope it is a different Celina team with some more players coming out and playing. Although I do think we handle them pretty well, they had two brothers last year that were numbers 22 and 23 I think. They were the best weapons Clay county had and the number 22 was pretty quick, he returned a kickoff once or twice on our own 40 last year. Pretty quick athlete
  12. Well it is homecoming week for the Bees down in Baxter. After a heart breaking loss last week, I expect this game to get out of hand real quick.
  13. Let's be realistic here Tiger fans. I was very impressed with the win on the Creekbank, I was there cheering y'all on for a matter of fact. I do think that this game will not be close though. LA has so much fire power it is unreal. I do give it to MC the QB looks good and I'm sure he will progress as the season goes on but it will be too much for him friday night. LA wins this by three scores, but best of luck to MC would love to watch them beat the Hog-eye at home.
  14. Glad to see 8AA play open up for the bees this week. I tell you what they sure did impress me more than I thought coming in. You do also have to look at the level of talent they were playing against friday night. With that being said a shut out in the first game against any team is pretty impressive I do not care what you say. They do have a good looking WR core and that makes Phillips even more dangerous. He is no York but he can make plays and can throw the ball when needed. This week will really test everything on all cylinders this week. Smith county will be ready and even if Milan sits out or plays they will still be talented and also coming off a big in county rivalry... they will be stoked. The Bees will have to be firing on all cylinders and more and SC needs to have a few turnovers to win this one. "The Hole" is a intimidating place no doubt and there will be a hostile crowd. It will be interesting to see what happens friday night. My prediction is SC comes out on top 35-14.
  15. Central Magnet was a shot in the dark really when I threw them on there. You would think they could get some talent being from Rutherford county. There is obviously talent from all the bigger schools in that county maybe they just do not have anything to work with after all of those schools get the athletes. Cannon is always a competitor just did not really know who all they had returning I know they lost two or three seniors I thought.
  16. We made a statement no doubt last year across the upper cumberland with the talent we had. It is just hard to fill the shoes of those players after what a great season they had. Just seconding what you are saying I hope we can continue at least some consistent competitiveness and keep this thing rolling not some 2-8 season or more 4-6 seasons.
  17. To be a little off topic here. Harper is no doubt the difference in the ball game maybe two touchdowns better. Macon just wanted it more and caught so many breaks it wasn't funny. Hartsville shot themselves in the foot all night long. Also did not see the logic in putting Harper in for one play in the second overtime.
  18. It will be a barn burner folks! I do think that SC has more talent on offense that will trump the Gordonsville's defense. Carthage wins this by a score. Great rivalry.
  19. Lets not get ahead of ourselves here boys. We have a chance to compete this year in 8AA but i don't know about a long playoff run. If they get second round I will be impressed. It is hard to replace 20 seniors and the talent they had last year. They were arguably the best team to ever come through Upperman hands down.
  20. Very well said and yes I did not understand bringing in Harper for that one play when he was limping on and off the field. He did not contribute that play because he was obviously in pain
  21. Huge win for District 8AA last night on the CreekBank! My first visit ever there and it was one for the books. QB for MC had a brain fart every now and then, like one time he threw it to a wide open hartsville's defender and nobody was around him and he does not stay in the pocket long but he does make plays. He will develop into a very good QB to say the least. He can run the ball to and does not care to run you over. This is twice this has happened that two 8AA teams knock off the defending stat champs in week 0. Last year with Upperman over Gordonsville and now Macon county over TC. It will be a game I will remember for a long time.
  22. Thoughts on this in county rivalry matchup? The way the wildcats sounded like they played Cookeville last night is a little promising now granted they are Cookeville and have depth but that brings a little ray of hope that they are down. I've changed my mind to what I have thought of earlier in the week. If the Bees do not come in with a big head and think they are going to walk over them, we could win by two or maybe even three scores and if we don't it will be a long and dragging season for us Bee fans.
