it's not ideal to be in 3rd and 16. Heck our players are probably so shocked to see a ball in the air it freaks up their minds. Seriously you split Brandon Baker out on one side and Ben Clifft on the other. Put Dodson in the slot. We would seldom have to throw the ball to them but just the threat of it would open up our running game.

That's what this type of offense is designed to do control the ball, control the clock. Lineman toe to heel packed in like sardines. Sounded like some crap Swenson told him, I almost had a stomach aneurism I laughed so long and hard...anyway the basis of packing all your players between the hashes is to expose the corners, get the ball outside dang sure not to run it up the middle except when you can get the defense flowing to the outside then you pop them with a dive play. It's just cockiness, the players see the ineptitude. What success we had up the middle was because our best lineman big CJ was clearing a path before he got hurt. I think out DC must have something on Swenson lol. Same old ineptitude. Same stupid bs defensive alignments. Let's see? Mitchell, Westview, Mckenzie, Milan. Basically all have drubbed us because we can't seem to figure out that we are not good enough to play press coverage without some safety help. Those blitzes look great when we get those hits in the backfield but how about the the 70-80 yard touchdowns those same blitzes cause? While I'm at it our homer radio announcers need to quit whining and making excuses for this coaching staff. It's embarrassing. I'm done.

You should be watching from over in the home stands If you want sad. I've NEVER seen a Huntingdon team regress like this in my lifetime. Taking nothing away from Milan. Good team who could have folded when their QB went down but are rolling along now. Gotta respect that. Good luck.

We actually did drop a safety back the one series in the first half that y'all didn't score. The next series went right back to what we had been doing and Mckenzie scores again. Blitzing linebackers won't keep them home and this when we knew you were gonna run it right up the middle. It's hilarious to me that the oppositions fans even question why. Embarrassed by the ineptitude of our schemes on defense and imagination on offense. Total lack of focus. The team that was better prepared and coached up took us to the woodshed. No, I didn't make any derogatory posts about TCA then and am not trying to now. I realize you had many starters out then. I am basing my opinion on your total points allowed in the regular season. 23 is too many. Hunting dons problem has been putting the ball on the ground too much. I feel like TCAS problem is allowing too many points in general.

I know TCA is giving up approx 26 points a game. Once the playoffs start nobody's opinions will matter. You might beat Westview, you might not. You might beat Northside, you might not. Who cares? It will all be settled on the field in November in 2A. My opinion is that if Huntingdon takes care of the football they will be hard to beat. It's all about who gets hot at the right time. We lost our best olineman with an acl tear I'm told so that will be a big factor for us the rest of the season. Can't wait for the playoffs, that's when the rubber meets the road.

TCA has a prolific offense but a little too soft on defense for me to rank any higher. I'm a Huntingdon fan and actually think that TCA/Adamsville/Huntingdon/Trenton are toss ups in 2A. I think whoever comes out of 2A on this side has a great shot at a state championship this year.

Total annihilation. Great leadership. Great coaching adjustments. I think we grew up tonight.

I wasn't saying that UC didn't wear us down physically, simply that I was impressed with my team that we were able to a point to match UC physically, athletically, and speed wise. I give all the credit in the world to the UC players and coaches.

I liked your coach going for it with the game tied at 7 all on 4th and 1 on his own 40. It showed a lot of confidence in his team. Took some huge ones. He fails there and we score before halftime and have the ball to open the 2nd half? Who knows? With UC line and fullback it probably wasn't as much of a gamble as I'm making it out to be. But....you convert it and you score to go up 14-7 before half, we have three turnovers after halftime and it's ball game. I'm extremely proud of my Mustangs effort in this game. I truly believe we won't face a better team the rest of the season all the way to the state championship game if we are fortunate enough to make it that far. If we cut out the mental errors and protect the football we will be a hard team to beat in our own right. UC , Don't fall victim to your own press clippings, stay hungry and humble and you will be king of the mountain in 1A again in 2014. I saw nothing tonight to make me believe you won't do all the above.

UC is a dominating team. The Plus for Huntingdon, they mostly held up physically. Mentally we made too many poor decisions. Credit UC, they wear you down physically and mentally. Let's learn from it and get better. Good luck to UC the rest of the season.

Just for conversations sake, who has the greater chance of pulling the upset this weekend, Huntingdon or UT? Both are HUGE UNDERDOGS.

Well I will say this. The last "unbeatable" team I remember from this area was Milan 2003. And I think we all remember what happened on their way to the state championship. I will give you Milan folks credit for 1999, that team was AWESOME. Poster above made a good point that 99 team dominated Huntingdon....but Huntingdon still made it to the 2A state championship game in 99. This Huntingdon/UC matchup is for nothing but bragging rights and a measuring stick. As a fan I just want to see how our men stack up against UC and pray for no injuries on either side. Always had great admiration for the UC program coach shanks, coach barnes. I remember the "Hogs". I hope for a well played and well coached game.

Agree ^ except I would add in the word "possibly" upsetting the champs. There's no dishonor in losing to UC if we put forth our best effort. This game will help us get better win or lose. No pressure on the Stangs, nobody outside Huntingdon expects you to stay within 21 points.

I believe it may be the fastest played game in high school history! Our best defense will be our offense. Keep UC O off the field. We have to play an error free game and get a break or two and we are capable of making it close with a chance to pull it out. I hope.
