1. i think folks underestimate the type of impact that almader can have in a game. she is so crucial to oakland's success and can light you up if any team decides to zone Oakland. The Lady Patriots are on a mission and i just dont see them losing again till at least the region finals, like tdluna said, the seniors will be the difference

  2. We've got some confident District 7 posters here.  All this talk about sweep and rematches.  Let's not forget that basketball actually is played outside of Murfreesboro, and the Lions from Columbia will prove it to you next week. Columbia by 7 over Riverdale.

im sure all of us that follow district 7-aaa know their is bball played outside of the boro, im just confident with the 4 district 7-aaa has. 3 of the 4 teams from district 7 have at least 20 wins(riverdale, siegel, oakland)and the one that doesnt has 19 wins(lebanon) to me, i think lebanon-shelbyville will the most exciting with the way those 2 teams like to press

  3. OHS has got to get their fouls under control. We cannot do w/o Allen and Dixon down the stretch.

But definitely Allen and Boyd will have my eye in this one. Both will step up and give 120%.

    825587378

i think a lot of those fouls tonight were just out of fatigue. once you play that 3rd night in a row, it starts to wear on ya. Hopefully Oakland will be firing on all cylinders on offense, boyd and allen are great offensive talents, but so are joines( head up matt, you will rebound, you always do) dixon and martin

  4. Oh I definitely do LOVE the girl. And I always have confidence in my teams.....

    825587331

well you have picked a good one, i think everybody saw how valuable she was when she was out against riverdale. Not looking forward to making the trek to 231 to lincoln co but i want to be there to see my pats advance thumb

i feel extremely good about our chances of making the region championship with our bracket, no white co, shelbyville or columbia

  5. Oakland with Almader leading the way!

Congrats to Riddle and Asberry for making All -Tourney! Both ladies deserved the honor.

    825587290

Love your confidence 2priceless and wish i could share it, but im a habitual worrier(if there is such a thing). I believe Lincoln Co's strength is in their post play, and if it is, i feel that we have to be considered the favorites since Oakland has 2 great post players as well, so that counters LC's strength. Tabitha seemed to not miss a beat in the win over cookeville, which is extremely good news for the lady pats.

As for tab's injury, it is now listed as a severe bruise. Apparently it wasnt a full break and they were able to move the cartilage back into place, tabnow just has a big stretch mark at the top of her nose. gotta love the girl, she's a tough one thats for sure

  6. Congratulations to both Oakland and Siegel for playing a game that went down to the wire. You definitely got your money's worth with this one. This is the kind of game that makes you sad to se anyone lose.

I think it was a very aggressive game and the defense dominated causing the low score.

Geez if any more of my favorites get smacked in the nose, they may have to carry me out on a stretcher. NINJA you showed what you are made of tonight by returning to the floor after your injury. Of course I expected nothing less from you.You are truly a pleasure to watch.

I will have to say that I am solidly a Devin Boyd fan. He has come along so well this season. Truly a dominating performance tonight from him. No surprise that he was  All Tourney. I would like to go back and revise my picks for All District because I would put him #1 on my list now.

I think our district will be represented well in regions and hope we take all 4 games. Best of luck to all teams, players, and coaches.

Here Here. Really felt that tonight was the night that oakland was going to be able to beat the stars, played at a nice, slow tempo, which is what oakland needed to do to win. If Oakland plays defense with that kind of intensity on a regular basis, there is little doubt in my mind that they will still be playing a week from now

  7. Gator, thanks for the bracket and all your hard work to keep us updated. GEEZ......another possibility of another Lebanon/ Siegel matchup and a Riverdale/ Oakland one........I am not sure my heart can take it!

    825587278

another riverdale/oakland game will be iffy but riverdale is not your average 4 seed. i think you have to consider lebanon, siegel and oakland the favorites in their games

  8. congrats to siegel, game wasnt the prettiest, but they found a way to win, a mark of a great team. the intensity bewteen both teams was just amazing( and so was the defense) even with the loss, im extremely proud with the effort put forth by the patriots, they left it all on the floor and thats all you can ask for.

  9. to me, the key for this game is can oakland handle siegel when they go into multiple defensive sets late in the game. this has been the reason why siegel has been able to pull out the win the last 2 times in my opinion. Oakland and Siegel will both want to win this one very badly, but it all comes down to execution. If Oakland can get Siegel to play a halfcourt tempo like they did the first time, then i think Oakland can win this one. But if its a up-tempo game, it will just a repeat of what happened in the last game bewteen these 2 teams.

  10. how do u know how physical the game is. u dont play and u never have. i have so i know. to hit someone with enuff force to break her nose and split open her face sounds like it was right on target.

she will be back cuz she is a champion & play harder than ever.

    825586008

i know because i was a student manager for 3 years and i have a tremendous amount of respect for those who do play the game. how bout you oakland fans quit accusing riverdale of dirty play and give them the credit they deserve?

  11. Oakland... here we go again.  One right after another.  You are the biggest fair weather, wishy-washy fan I have ever seen.  Let me start by saying that no one on here said that Lannings intentions for the night were to eliminate Almater.  Obviously this is what happed and MOST OHS fans are devistated.  You of all people, should be.  But let me think for a minute, this is the same guy who was downing Riddle earlier in the season.  Lanning is a good player and nobody has said otherwise.  Matter of fact she got a wonderful compliment from the person I respect most, Grandstaff.  I think that Almater being taken out of the game played a huge role in the turnabouts of the game.  Fans are upset as they have the right to be.  You on the other hand, are not a fan!  Everyone on here that has read YOU, since your "new ID," knows that you have let your obsession with this Priceless dude effect your ability to think with a clear head.  By the way... did you not say... that you DO not get on here to make friends.  Well you better wipe that off the end of your nose  ;)  starting to be kinda obvious.  Maybe tonight you should sit on the Cookvile side, and wash that nasty green shirt.

    825586254

go back and check and you will find that i was discouraged in riddle and felt she could play better(and she has) also in the first game against cookeville, i was defending riddle left and right against a person that was criticizng for her play.

folks, anne marie plays hard, the way she plays will rub some people the wrong way, but i can guarantee you that anne marie didnt have malicious intent towards tabitha, had that been the case, grandstaff would have been livid about it.

i have disagreed with priceless on this thread because of 2 things he has said: 1. he said that we would dominate the district tournament when almost all oakland fans(including myself) knew it wouldnt. 2. implying that riverdale was trying to take almader out of the game. Was tabitha being knocked out for the 2nd half a big factor? absolutely, but oakland still had plenty enough talent on the floor to win this game, i have said all year that without almader we dont win a few games, but a team has to be prepared in the case that she does go down, and oakland wasnt prepared for it. i love his support and confidence of the lady patriots and i hope it continues, but i do not let him or any poster on this site affect the way i think, so there goes that theory.

Oakland loses so it has to be that riverdale played dirty. come on guys, oakland lost fair and square, give riverdale the credit they deserve.

  12. There is NOTHING that will keep Tabatha Almader from playing anything less than  top of the line. Expect her to make a statement tonight........she is the heart, soul, and hustle of this Oakland team. All the pieces of the puzzle are needed for a win....everyone must do their part. But anyone that has followed or watches OHS girls basketball know that Tababtha MUST be given her due.....as the court general. Her absence in the game for over a half was definitely a factor, although I am certainly not knocking Riverdale's play.

But  that was why it was necessary for her to be "taken out of her game" by Riverdale.

    825585666

basketball is a physical sport thatis supposed to be played hard. im very confident that nobody from riverdale had the intent of taking out tabitha. both Oakland and Riverdale have players with an intense desire to win, and sometimes that will lead to rough play. had riverdale gone after tabitha with malicious, believe me when i say coach grandstaff would have been all over coach burt about it

  13. oakland grad, how could this happen? u already had your state tourn. seats didn't u.

    825585599

find a post where i said we are a shoe in to state. going into this tournament, i knew it was gonna be tough to win it because oakland is the hunted, we get the best game from every team and sometimes you just dont have enough gas to beat a team that brings it. however, this loss could prove to be a blessing in disguise assuming oakland and columbia both win tommorrow. as far as tab goes, she a tough girl, shes gonna have to alot worse than a broken nose to keep her out of the game.

however, i wish to address this issue before we get too far into the postseason. lady patriots, i want to say how proud i am of you girls for your play on the court, but more importantly, the way you have carried yourselves off the court. a lot of lady patriots are very involved in the lives of children and those kids look up to them as role models. this team is as tight as a team can be as far as friendships go and it shows on the court. regardless of what happens in the upcoming games and weeks, i just want to let the lady pats know that this community and their school are extremely proud of them thumb

  14. first off, hats off to riverdale, you girls played a good game and deserved to beat oakland. almader or no almader, there is no need to make excuses for the loss. this one hurt because i thought our girls played with so much character in the 2nd half and looked like they were gonna pull it out, but riverdale showed just as much character by overcoming a deficit(and a fairly sizeable one at that) to come back to win. i can guarantee you that us true Oakland bball fans knew going into this tournament that we werent going to dominate, so 2priceless is not the majority voice as far as oakland's attitude towards the district tournament.

i always try to see the good in everything, so i guess oakland by losing tonight will put them in the bracket opposite of columbia, assuming oakland wins tommorrow afternoon. i feel confident if our bracket comes out as such opposite columbia, although it will still be a tough road ahead with oakland having a potential road game at lincoln county. Sometimes it does a team good to lose a game that they probably should have won, it gets the ole motivation kicked up another notch. as for almader, diagnosis is a broken nose, however, she will be able to play with a mask, so all is not lost. i think a lot of us oakland fans were starting to the succes of the team and almader for granted and we saw tonight how much she means to the team. its my hope through this inury, tabitha can still play at a high level. regardless of what happens from here on out, i am extremely proud of these lady patriots as players, but more importantly, as young ladies, they set a great example off the court for their school and their community

  15. Agreed, should be two classics tonight.

    825584389

well patriots4, you hit right on the head, both games were classics and oakland didnt get it" handed to them" by riverdale. i like the intensity and effort and oakland, didnt allow riverdale to get on any big runs and were able to dictate the tempo at a pace that we were comfortable with. great win tonight by the patriots, another classic chapter added to the battle of the boro

  16. Look for Oakland tonight.  Coach King will have them completely ready for Riverdale.  Patriots always play well against Riverdale when it counts.  Go Pats.

    825583837

you make a good point patriots4. riverdale hasnt beaten oakland in the postseason since 2001  was satisfied to a degree what i saw tuesday night, heres hoping that adareus can stay out of foul trouble for this game.
