Not too surprised by them going this direction. Coffee County was a young team last year, and there first string  QB was out most of the season. They should be better next year, but unfortunately they are in a very tough region, and will probably be in this region for awhile.

Same here, in a good year they'll be in the hunt for the 4th seed, which could be next yr, alot of 3-6A teams will be in rebuild mode

2 things that surprise me looking at each rooster via another website. 1. How big PC is.  Lots of size on the trenches. Makes the tean speed even more effective. More size than I remember them having in the past. 2. How young UHS is. QB, RB, top 2 WR, the LB group and most of the lineman are all coming back. That sophomore group is absolutely loaded.

PC is basically the 4A version of Oakland

Quite a few still do. Not an optimum situation, but we still do a lot. You play with what you have.

The problem is in many places the numbers of kids willing to do the work to play are down. At one time it was not unusual to see 80 to 90 kids on the Bradley sidelines all the time. Cleveland had 40 to 60 and even Charleston had good numbers.

Oakland and teams like them that still have good numbers need to enjoy it. I really see the continuing drop in numbers of kids willing to get out and do the practices in the heat cold and rain to play football.

This year's Copper Basin had a total of 18 players on a 1A team.

Oakland's numbers actually are down compared to 15 years ago, but for RuCo schools that's largely bc of the addition of new schools. Until its growth slows, I don't think schools in Middle Tennessee have to worry about numbers at the medium and large school level any time soon.

Like you said, being able to have guys go one way is a luxury

I watched his first game in an Oakland uniform, because it was on ESPN. At least I think it was his first game.

I believe the ESPN game (MRA) was the 2nd game of the season

I heard a rumor and I’m sure you have to. I hope it’s not true because I’m so tired of them taking players out of our state but it may be best for him.

With the current state of things in HSFB, I don't really concern myself with rumors, they usually balance themselves out, or they have for Oakland. Last year TT Hill transfer to BA and Morris transferred to Oakland not even 48 hours later.

One thing the Stats don't show is Boo's 46-yard KO return.

And after that Oakland kicked out of bounds or onsides every time.

But next year all the Tennessee fans in Oakland will be cheering for him and bragging about how good he is, I bet. :D

Oakland only had 1 more KO after his one return.Prior to that, he cost them more yardage on KO's than helped. Whether it's 77 or 31, still way below his average. You can admire a player's skill and still brag

This is from an outsider looking in, so keep that in mind.....    From what I have been able to see Oakland just basically lines up and runs the ball right at you for 4 quarters.     Not trying to act like an NFL throw-it-60x type of offense.         Upperman apparently does the same thing and ran all over Greeneville last night.          My opinion, and that's all it is, is that too much emphasis is placed on HS teams trying to run a spread NFL offense with complicated schemes and routes, instead of focusing on doing the basic fundamentals better than all the other teams you play.       It can be done at the HS level for sure, but year-in & year-out very few schools have the skillsets necessary to successfully live and die on a NFL offense.            Now maybe that only works with the right personnel, i.e., O-line that averages 290 plus a group of tough hard-nosed RB's who are not afraid of collision.      Plus, let's face it, 5 yards & a cloud of dust is a rather boring offensive scheme, so could it be that egos demand looking like a mini NFL team?                 Whatever your view on this, keep in mind that Oakland & Upperman are in their respective title games next week while the rest of us are out Christmas shopping.

Oakland has just always been a team that will pound the ball, that goes back to every title team we have had, even before Creasy. It's about knowing your personnel. There have been some years where Oakland threw for 2,000 yards.

Running the ball isn't always exciting or pretty, but it's hard to win a title in December slinging it all over the place

MTF yall better slow down or taxes is about to go up in the community, somebody has to pay for the extra trophy cases.

As for the game hats off to Oakland and Bc for giving us what we wanted, this was build from the beginning of the season,  I personally eye rolled at first cause them guys from 825 run region 1 and 2 and Bc proved me wrong, Boo is better than advertised, Martin, Rodgers and tito are legit, Bc shouldn't hang their heads, most knew it was going to take a herculean effort to take down Goliath. From my understanding this was the best year for now to take out Oakland, Bc announcers said this team was basically juniors and sophomores

If they need the space, I'll hold onto a few of them.

I wouldn't call Oakland a young team bc we have alot of great seniors like Hewitt, Riggs, Smith, Ellison, Taylor and a bunch of others that contribute. That said, this team did have a very 2017 feel that you better get them this year bc there were alot of guys making plays on that field last night that are coming back

I had some friends that used to set up at that church and make several hundred dollars a game. Drive around behind the school three or four minutes and park where others park. Don’t worry, you won’t get lost or shot. It’s easier to get to the visitor stands anyway if you park behind the school. Murvil should talk with that church. It’s ridiculous to take advantage of the out of towners IMO.

I've parked behind the visitor side each time and have never paid a cent

Upperman enjoy the win but if you lose next week this game doesn’t matter. As far as Greeneville their offense is always one person and you shut that person down they don’t have a clue what to do. The year Elizabethton beat them at Greeneville they shut down that RB and Greeneville didn’t have a plan B even with all the receivers they had.

I'd wager most ppl at Upperman feel different. 1st trip to the title game will def matter to everyone around Baxter, win or lose

Maryville players and fans are way classier than Oakland could ever be. It’s because Maryville is used to winning. Oakland is pretty much the UGA of Tennessee football. They’re having their run sure and they are acting like buffoons in the process

Maryville folks (and everyone else for that matter) get along with us just fine. Unlike GA, we didn't go 40 years bewteen titles.

It’s all fun and games haha my buddy from the army is coming down from Indiana and he said we’re hurting is Oakland is our best high school program lol center grove is already out… they didn’t even go far this year so see it comes from every direction. There are teams that would embarrass Oakland just as bad as they did Bradley. Imagine IMG or mater dei… it’d be 80 or 90 to 0

Center Grove lost the game before the state championship,  that's pretty far

  12. Hats off to Bradley. They showed alot of heart battling back from 17 down and the result tonight doesn't diminish what a great team they have. Unfortunately for them, they haven't faced a team that could match up with their talent and it showed.

So proud of my Patriots, only giving up a combined 20 pts to 3 really goes offenses in Gallatin, Riverdale and Bradley. Watson has done a heckuva job with the defense. Having to win 3 road games to get back to the BCB just warms the heart and another great performance from Morris. Hopefully we can clean up the mistakes, Houston will not be an easy game, they dominated a very good Brentwood team

    GO PATS
