  1. The thing is about those numbers is this year way more mercy games this season and most of the points are on the freshman team in second half. Marion's first team defense has gave up 27 points in the last 8 games. 21 of those 27 points came against a spread heavy offense in the first half of the Chatt. Christian game before it got out of hand. They have given up 56 points total points in the season to date. Last season our first team gave up 203 points. Its not even close to being comparable.
  2. For Marion that will be their key to the game. But if TC is expecting the same defense that showed up to the Creek Bank then they will be surprised. We had very little defense under the previous regime. Up to this point it's been a total turn around on that side of the ball
  3. As expected sounds like yall are more healthy than you let on. TC is Just like everyone at this point, a lot of nicked up players but they will all try to play thru it.
  4. Nope whistle is still running. The original whistle trailer is down this year because of compressor issue so the whistle has been installed above the band in the stands with a new compressor.
  5. The coaches and team spent a lot of time on punt team this week. Anyone that has seen film on us vs Jackson Co is going to try to go after one. After they made some adjustments to the team and how they will line up, it looked a lot better this week in practice, but we will soon see. Win or Lose, the team is prepared. Ross does a great job on preparing them in practice for what they will see. There is a reason our Defense has made leaps and bounds his year. All you have do is watch a few minutes of practice versus the last few years. Ross has them in position, we just gotta make the plays and get 5 on the ground. Marion sure looks the part all week, each day better than the last, now it has to carry over to game day. Will soon see. Good luck MC and safe travels for Trousdale. MC 27 TC 14
  6. Both teams have a large task at hand I believe. Marion is coming in confident and I think with a bit of a chip on there shoulder. Is say Marion 31-21
  7. i never said he was better, but will he be as good or better, I believe so. Will he ever be able to duplicate that type of success? i don't know, but from a attention to detail, film study and applying it to what has to happen to win the game, its a step up. He may never win a title, but I guarantee you no coach will look forward to playing them. Roy, as long as he sticks around, your going to get a belly full of him. Your already hoping he leaves.
  8. After watching Ross and his OC work this year, practice mostly, we are in better hands than maybe ever, IMO. B. Zemen will be huge loss next year,no doubt. He that makes our young O-line this year look above average which includes three sophomores. Next year that experience on that line will make an average high school back look like all state. When you have depth and 50-60+ kids out playing, those once in a decade players are not as significant in the win loss column as they are as say a 1A school with 25 kids playing. A Zemen type player can and will make a difference if you win state or not though. But Zemen or any other player is not going to make or break Ross and his coaching. I would go out on a big limb and say that Trousdale is way more reliant on Harper being in the game with only 26 players on the team as Marion is with Zemen. Both are very important to the teams success, but depth always helps.
  9. Just curious, why are you so confident in a Marion win? hope you are right, but how do you see this game playing out?
  10. Yes it will. Ross was not happy with the schedule he was dealt this year. Sale Creek and Lookout Valley has to go. Couple things is for sure that will drive future schedules with Ross; 1) Region Games 2) Better Competition 3) Better Gates
  11. Reliable word on the street, Unless something falls thru, Marion will be playing Sequatchie and South Pitt. Sounds like we may be picking up the boys on Signal.....Mutual interest involved. Whitwell and Grundy on the other hand doesn't look like it will happen.
  12. I expect TC to bring one of the biggest crowds Marion has seen all year. There will be a lot of people from the valley make the game as well. Should be a large turn out.
  13. Unless I am totally mistaken, That's if you have the same seeding. If both were #1 seeds, then it goes to the even quad. But if one team is a higher seed ( #1 vs. #2), then the higher seed gets to host not matter which quad.
  14. Your first prediction was bad neither. Thought the same thing but not 49-0 at the half. Over before it started.
  15. End of 1 st quarter 14-0 mc Marion is 1-9 about to score Jack may have 20 total yards and has 1 first down
