As a coach why would you not teach your catcher how to call the game.

I feel like our catchers know how to call a game, but I also feel a cy young winner would be better :)  And thus, improving the catcher's knowledge of calling the game going forward in their journey.

I'm not so sure that CPA is in trouble.  But this hire does show how much Boyd Buchanan is putting into the football program.  This hire is a game changer.

Looks like there will be only next year to see once this proposal is passed:

    • Division II-AAA must have a minimum of 12 schools. The remaining DII classes — DII-A and DII-AA — would be split evenly by enrollment with about 18 schools in each classification.
    • When school enrollments are gathered after the 2024-25 school year begins, each DII school playing football must declare if it plans on participating in Class AAA for the upcoming cycle. If less than 12 schools announce they will be in DII-AAA, a success ratings formula would be used to select the number of schools to reach the 12-school minimum. The highest-ranked schools not committed to DII-AAA would be moved up.

If Mater Dei Monarchs or Desoto Eagles come to Tennessee they would mercy rule Lipscomb Mustangs too. It would happen. I guarantee it. Do you want to bet me? I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.

I believe that CaptainGuru is an AI program that is using CoachT as a knowledge builder. I actually chuckled a couple of times last week at it. Sign of the times… @Booger, what do you think?

Lipscomb is an anomaly, when you bring on out of state kids, I truly forgot about how lopsided some of those games are, but that’s done now. Lipscomb isn’t what they were two years ago, also I don’t get what this point about Desoto and Mater Dei is. BGA’s goal isn’t to mercy rule CPA, nobody’s goal was. Lipscombs goal was to build a program to boost enrollment and the name of the school, and most importantly, get Dilfer a better job, but yes while the only school to mercy rule CPA was Lipscomb, it won’t happen again. Captain Guru gotta read better.

A funny CPA mercy rule story involves Knox Catholic. We mercy ruled them in 2015, I think it surprised and ticked them off. They went on to win 4A by mercy ruling PC.

In 2016 they were laser focused with Amari Rodgers scoring 5 or 6 TDs in the first half. During halftime a crazy lightning storm  descended and the game was called 45-0. I kinda always thought God called it for mercy, because I believe they would have done their best to hang a 100 on us that night…

I agree that the middle region is the toughest in AA, and it’s not close.

Re-classification after next year could get interesting for D2. Wouldn’t be shocked to see teams split evenly into 3 classifications. Would likely put CPA and Lipscomb up in AAA. East teams on that line, according to last cycle’s numbers, would be CCS and Knox Webb.

Very much likely. We already play in the biggest division in baseball and other sports and I enjoy it more.

    Awesome movie!

Remember the chest beating preseason about the D2AAA East being the fourth best division in the nation? That worked out well…

At least the D2 boards have been more active this year…

provide a link so I can check it out. It is not on the           M  Preps site that most schools use for such things.

I don’t think there is a traditional listing of their stats on Instagram that you’d normally be able to pour over, but I think this is the post he is referring to. You don’t have to have instagram, just this URL in a browser

Isn’t that for all day Thursday? I don’t think they had a way to count the specific crowd at the AAA game. Huge crowd regardless!

TSSAA realigns DIV II into two classes instead of three , I would assume it will benefit Goodpasture.

They are talking about 3 classes with equal number of schools and maybe have success be a factor in classification. I think it’s scheduled for a February meeting.

.....give the GOAT another year or two then that story real.....

After hearing the news yesterday about a possible / probable change in D2 only where success may play a factor in the still too many 3 classes and TSSAA may split the number of the 3 classes so there is an even number in each…. Interesting it’s D2 only.

Anyway, next year probably will be the last year we are in the same class for a little while, if that stuff comes to pass. Who knows? I think we’ll be happy playing wherever we are told again :)

Would he be able to make it back in time for the Championship? Having that Thanksgiving week off to refresh and deal with some soreness would help most teams right now.

Nah, had knee surgery. Same with a good special teams player.

    who's out?

    #1 GA commit CB/WR

He was out last game after have knee surgery the week before.

I blame myself, the week before I had just said, can you imagine kicking off to us with a GA commit and a GA offer sophomore back deep to return with a UTK commit playing up a little from them for the short kicks.

  13. I’m surprised to see nobody has mentioned CPA’s #1 player in the state per recruiting services being out… I think CPA’s defense is so good / deep it doesn’t matter.

I’m going with DA again in a close one. #53 being the difference.

At some point don't you think we'll get tired of getting destroyed by these Nashville teams. You think there's a chance that we start recruiting for football because I think that last game showed everyone at USJ what it takes to be successful in AA.

As a CPA guy, I am so thankful for the years of success we’ve had in athletics. I think the biggest “recruitment” factor is the reputation of the brand. Dads and moms want to get their kids into CPA in elementary school so they can play for Ingle, or baseball, soccer, track & field, etc.  Not making a decision just based on sports alone but the culture of what it means to be on a CPA team and having those leaders be the biggest positive influence to their kids.

Generally, I think the majority of schools are like this across the state. You just have to be the one in your target market area, and that takes a lot better public relations person than I am to explain how!

The TSSAA controls all of the video broadcast rights for the post-season. No school can stream except thru NFHS and they must be a member of that organization. BCHS is a member and will be streaming on NFHS beginning about 6:30. The audio will be the live radio play-by-play from Talk 101.3 The Buzz, synched with the video. The Buzz has carried BCHS football for many years.

I’m curious, is there a fee or anything that schools can pay and still do their own? NFHS can be garbage a lot of the times…

At $7 a baseball, darn skippy.

I bought my son a dozen NCAA baseballs before heading back to school in August....$136/dozen!!

You guys would get a good chuckle if you saw the condition of the balls everyone except pitchers use to practice with… I think it is some kind of contest and we’re winning!

BT I just want to know the softball budget at CPA. They must lose 1000 balls a season behind the backstop. LOL.

Larry would have the whole baseball team going on a ball hunt if his field was like that.

I have seen Ingle walking through those bamboos, talking on the phone, picking one up and chucking it so far, I didn’t see it land!

Pontoons MM76! It’s weak thinking not to tell other people what to do with the substantial extra resources that you know exist just because you have a login to CoachT.
