I have known HTV for many years, 26 is the number of years I believe, and even though he is loyal to the Panthers and my being the head coach at Halls, never had a problem with him. Always straight and up front with me. I followed his son in sports and afterward and he followed mine in sports and afterward. Hope Powell wins every game EXCEPT when they play the Red Devils. I believe HTV would say that about Halls.

Years ago I was broadcasting a Karns game and a coach by the name of Bankston (first name escapes me) kicked a "field goal" instead of punting because he had a tremendous place kicker, name was Foster if memory serves, and didn't have anybody who could put it 20 yards. I thought he was nuts the first time I saw it, but as the game went on I began to understand why he did it.
HTV,
I think his name was David, but don't bet the ranch on it. His brother played at Auburn and transferred to APSU. His name was Craig and I think a 3rd brother was a G.A. at Marshall along the time of their plane crash.
Pretty sure the kicking team can't recover a missed FG att before the ball reaches the end zone and retain possession.

HTV - very good games, rivalries, and friendships, except for those game weeks.

Been in a few of these. Three words...Go Red Devils

The QB left the program and also a RB left the program, is what I was told. QB played at NE in 16,17, played in Ky in 18, NE again in 19 and now he transferred to Ga.
How do you place blame on last year?

I believe based on Friday night and what is to come Clarksville will be #3 in Region 7 while and face Southwind as of right now. I am not looking for a good night on Friday for my Eagles.....Too many people leaving the team.
What is happening on Trenton Rd? Saw them play Rossview and was shocked at things that happened during the game.

Halls is playing Union County. Not smart. Absolutely nothing to gain and everything to lose. Better keep your eyes open Red Devils, you never know who might be watching!

Scott is doing a heck of a job with Halls thus far. Granted, the competition hasn't been great, but they are winning games they are supposed to win and winning convincingly.
HTV,
I need to talk with you when you have a minute.

wacojaco,
I believe Teddy Gaines coached at Webb School in Knoxville and also at ETSU. Think he played at UT and had a cup of coffee in the NFL. With being said, think that probably qualifies him to coach the db's at DB.

Oklahoma is weird because they have the five super schools in enrollment, with the top four all being in Tulsa County, but separate school districts. The 6A Class started in 1992 and split into 6A-I and 6A-II in 2014. Since 1996 every state champ has been from Tulsa County in 6A.
Then they have a ton of smaller schools. The OSSAA has enrollment info on 479 schools. 258 play 11 man football and 79 play 8 man football for a total of 337. They have a lot of tiny districts that co-op. 6A-I is 16 teams and 8 make the playoffs. 6A-II is 16 teams and 8 make the playoffs. 5A, 4A, and 3A are 32 teams and 16 make the playoffs. Class 2A is 64 teams and 32 make the playoffs. Class A is 66 teams and 32 make the playoffs. Class B and C are 8-man football. The schools that play 8-man can only be the size of the Class A. A school larger than class A can't play 8-man. Class B has 47 schools ant 32 make the playoffs. Class C has 32 and 16 make the playoffs.
So one can say that we are comparable in terms of pure # of football playing schools. The only difference is that they have 100+/- more schools than we do and those schools that don't play football can coop with another school.
Have you looked at how Tennessee would be if we went to this method?
What if Tennessee did the following: 4A-I has 40 schools and 16 make the playoffs, 4A-II has 40 schools and 16 make the playoffs. Then you take 3A, 2A, 1A each class has 72 teams and 32 make the playoffs. Privates have 2 classes divided equally, say 25 in each class and 8 make the playoffs. Pretty sure my numbers are not exact but you get my point. All I did is eliminate 1 public class and 1 private class.

Does Oklahoma have 5 rounds of playoffs to determine State Champions like Tennessee? If yes, I'm guessing there are teams in the playoffs with losing records just like Tennessee. Oklahoma has 192 football playing schools in 2A through 6A. How many Class A football playing teams do they have?

OK, thanks. Hadn't seen D-B in years since their renovation. We scrimmaged them every spring and fall from 97 through 04, with each booster club feeding both teams depending on location. Normally, we went to DB in spring and they came to us in the fall. Really good memories with coaches visiting with coaches, players with players, etc. Graham and I have talked weekly for the past 22+ years. Good to see him back in coaching.

How does Melvin Cole become the Guardian of 5 football players in Memphis? To me, that's a red flag right there. I am guessing he is their legal educational guardian.

A question that has absolutely nothing to do with the Riverdale-Stratford-PC-MJ conversation.
MidTennFootball, I just looked up your profile and want to know where the stadium is located that is on your profile. I do follow MJ some, since we lived there for over 5 years back on the mid-late 80's.

I just saw a college game last week and a member of the kickoff team cut a blocker and it was called. Heard a coach at a meeting tell all in attendance that the opponent ran the counter trey/sweep and they have told their DE's to squeeze and cut the lead puller.
Have not always seen it called by dang sure have heard it mentioned to officials.
