The district may be weaker compared to teams outside the district but it has been more competitive against each other than I would have thought. Dekalb is better than I would have thought, UHS worse than I expected. I saw Smith's JV a couple of times last year and thought they would be better this year and they are. Macon better than past years as well. Cannon & York about as expected and look at LA's scores, they aren't as bad as their record might indicate. MCM's issue is their defense. Lost a couple of good defenders but still much worse than it should be. Not helped by a rotating SS position on one hand and playing others consistently at other positions in spite of double digit errors. It will cost them at a crucial moment in the post season.

Should have stuck the layup but still an incredibly crappy call. I didn't see any chin up just trying to protect himself from players underneath, there was nothing to showboat he missed the dunk. I'd have to see the tape to prove he pulled himself up.

Macon by 8-10. One thing of note in the game at Macon was that Central had a 4 point lead until Macon finished on a 19-4 run. The game was closer than the final score might indicate.

Bats should still be good, Lost Mackenzie Jackson & Sullivan but still have Sarge, Jordan Jackson, Duffield and several other juniors that played some last year that should be much improved.

Central has 5 juniors coming back from last year, Touchton, Johnson, Duffield, Jenkins, and Cambell. Didn't lose any pitching and they're a year older.

It's my understanding that you can't officially commit until the Fall of your senior year. Anyone in the 2017 class like Jennings can only verbally commit at this point.

Glad he is healthy but it won't really matter at that point, both teams will have qualified for regionals if they play each other in the district title game. The district title game is for seeding only to determine if your first regional game is at home or on the road so I doubt he would even pitch that game. You typically use your ace for the Monday/Friday games for the 1st regional game and the sectional game.

If they get on a roll into the district tournament you never know. That is true with any team for that matter. It will depend on how our sophomore pitching develops thru the course of the year, so far so good. Hopefully our schedule will have us ready for Upperman's pitching when the time comes.

I agree, Macon was the last team knocked out on our side (MCM) of the district bracket last year and I don't know that they lost a lot.
