  1. My post is a matter of perception. White county has a very good team and did what good teams do, ( find ways to get around what the other team has to do to win.) And in my opinion that is exactly what White County was able to accomplish. In no way am I or was I trying to deminish White County as a team. I believe their record speaks for itself. So as an avid basketball fan, my post stated what White was able to do and what CCHS was unable to do. I honestly can't wait for to watch both teams okay each other over the next fee years as it will definitely make for some exciting basketball in 6AAA.
  2. Why would they deny this? Did they give the boys and explanation as to why they chose not to accept this option?
  3. Why would they deny this? Did they give the boys an explanation as to why it was denied?
  4. I hate it for the young men, especially after all of the hard work they have put in this season. It is a shame that the admin or coaches didnt work as hard for them by exploring all possible options.
  5. Hats off to White County, they have a well rounded team that work and play very well together. I have to say Crosland is just a beast. Definately exciting to watch. I thought CCHS played a little better tonight than they have as of late. Although, their still seems to be something off.
  6. Congrats to White County on the win. For me, the game really came down to a few key factors. White County was able to take advantage of every opportunity they were given by CCHS to score. They were also able to get CCHS lop sided on defense leaving an open person under the basket. CCHS had a really poor shooting night and missed some easy opportunities in lay-ups as well as missed shots from the free throw line. CCHS also failed to play defense in the second half, failed to call out picks and communicate wether or not to switch or stay on their player. As i said in an earlier post. One of the keys to the game is for CCHS to not lose focus coming out of half time.
  7. If CCHS will show up, play as a team, and have fun playing the game, they can definately make it and interesting contest. It's going to take some leadership from their senior guard, a good shooting night for the Smith kid, and for the Clark boy to just keep doing what he is doing. They are going to have to rebound and play defense without getting into foul trouble, their three posts are going to have to step up and play like they are 6"7". The bench will need to have a stellar night as well. Subs need to come in and ensure their is no let off while they are on the floor. Last but not least. The coaching staff needs to help put the team in a position to win. I have seen the momentum of the game changed to many times this year from sub par game management and team building skills. Good luck to both teams. I hope for a good contest and for both teams to stay healthy.
  8. "VERY" well put Tenntwin. The reference from Matthew definately applies. Questions are: How do you get buy in from everyone involved? How do you break the 'status quo" that has existed for the last twenty-five years? Each individual group (that you stated above) has to be prepared to take ownership for their respective part of the equation.
  9. I personaly do not have a problem with sophmores playing either. I think it benefits both freshmen and sophnores tremendously. It gives freshmen better comppetition (in most cases) than they have played in elementary or middle school and supplies sophmores with more playing time than they would normally see as well as allows them to polish some of their skills that may be lacking. Better competition / more court time can turn mediocre players into good players and good players into great players. You don't see many players getting better from sitting on the bench or the couch. Its the ones who hustle in practice, hustle every time they step foot on the floor, and are out shooting, dribbling at home that have the greatest chance to succeed.
  10. We are roughly thirty hours away from what could be the first of several very close games between CCHS and White County. I think both teams match up well against one another in playing style as well as athletic ability. What can White county do to exploit some of CCHS's weaknesses? What can CCHS do to put the game out of reach quickly, control White County's offensive scoring ability, and not lose focus coming out of halftime?
