  1. Whoa now. You guys have 2 losses. Bearden and Science Hill. Both at your home. Before the excuses roll in, Bearden had to play in the same elements that BC did as well. I've already said it, and I know our game was a 1 point game, but without a ridiculous comeback that rainy night, Bearden wins it going away. 28-14 w/ 4:20 left in the game (w/ a fumbled snap going in @ the 1 yard line). Bearden's QB also out gained Bradley's through the air by 50 yards (225-176). Again, on the same slop for both sides. Big time win for the Bears last night, and Bearden will definitely be the underdog next Friday, and rightfully so, but before you crown yourself top two in the conference, remember you're 2-2 just like DB, HVA, and Bearden. Science Hill also beat you as well. And they're 3-1. Just saying.
  2. Not hoping. I don't have a dog in the fight. Nothing will make me feel better about that thumping we took. Just stating facts. Farragut is good, and West isn't as good this year. It will be a multi-score game. Farragut, Oak Ridge, and Morristown West are the upper-tier teams of East Tennessee in 5A. West and Sevier County aren't up there.
  3. Stop it. You're sandbagging. You know what's about to happen.
  4. Our guy over here at Bearden ain't too bad either. Good frame. Pretty mobile. Checked the stats the other day, and he's creeping in on 1300 yards of passing. He's gotta have 200 on the ground. Had over 200 passing and 4 TD's in the win against Bradley. Known the kid his whole life. Grew up a few years ahead of my boy. Glad he's succeeding. If someone takes a chance on him at the next level, they'll have a gem. Great kid. Always has been.
  5. Hey, maybe you two ^^^^^ are right. I just feel like from the West I've seen, they're too sporadic to pull this win out. We shall see this Friday. Heck, I may even make it over. We have a bye anyway.
  6. Farragut won 40-9. The only reason I'm taking the Admirals is because of the eye test. I watched the West vs. Hardin Valley game and saw a West team that could barely move the ball except for 1 drive. West has lost its best running back also. Farragut's defense is extremely sound. Much better than a Hardin Valley or Sevier County. They are also much more than just #1. They have a really good O-Line with some pretty talented receivers who catch everything. I'm going to get a lot of junk for this statement, but this year's Farragut team is a poor man's version of this year's Maryville team. Solid up front on both sides. A QB who knows and runs the offense with efficiency. WR's who catch everything. A defense that doesn't miss tackles. Not to mention they have a kicker and punter who never put their defense in bad situations, and will get points when given the opportunity. They obviously aren't Maryville, but I just don't think this year's West team has a chance to play with this year's Farragut team.
  7. As much as I hate to say it, Farragut will roll in this one. This team is the real deal. 38-7 Farragut.
  8. I'd love to see it happen. Especially since we don't play. HaHa
  9. No problem. Rooting for you guys this week. Would love to come watch this game. I'd love to see spots 2-7 in this region be a free for all. I think Maryville has the top spot pretty well locked and William Blount has the bottom pretty well secured. I'd love to see some of these favorites knocked off in the next 2-3 weeks. I feel like the middle teams are much more even than some think.
  10. Really athletic perimeter players and linebackers. Tackle well. Fast and physical. They have really good athletes but are not disciplined and imo poorly coached. Should finish 2nd or 3rd in the conference with the ball players they have, but underachieve. If Bearden don't give up a 90 yard run after they take the lead in the 3rd quarter they hold momentum and beat them. You guys seem very similar to us from what I hear and with scores. This will be a tough week for you guys, but it's a real possibility you pull the upset. Play sound and capitalize on their mistakes, because they will make them.
  11. I'd move. The fact that he says too much is annoying, but I don't know how he keeps his job because he is just so flippant with his words. Last night when the big WR for Bradley made the huge catch for the last touchdown, he literally said, "He's had a few drops tonight, but he didn't drop that one." What adult calls a kid out like that? Who in the Bradley Central athletic department feels like it's a good idea to let that fly?
  12. Oh and by the way, not to add salt to the wound, but that PA guy is extremely annoying. Somebody let him know that he's the Public Address Announcer and not the color commentary on the radio.
  13. DB might score some serious points, but don't be too sure this is a complete runaway. You'd think after being beat down by Maryville like everybody else, DB might realize they're not so special. 49-0 in the second quarter? UGH! You'll have your hands full with BC's QB if it's a dry night. After what I saw on TV the other night, it won't be too hard to run by those defensive backs. DB has a late score and wins 41-20.
  14. Crazy game last night. Glad to escape with a W. Looking at the future schedule for BC, I think if it's a dry night, you guys can beat Hardin Valley. They are extremely undisciplined and your QB can keep you in any game IMO. I am getting a little frustrated with the whole, "Bearden only beats bad teams" or "Bearden only wins games that other teams gives away" montra. I realize that BC played a rough game last night, but Bearden was far from perfect. You all do realize that Bearden was up 28-14 with 4:20 left when earlier in the 3rd quarter we squandered an opportunity at the 1 yard line by fumbling a snap when going in for the score right? Could've easily been 35-14 at the 4:20 mark with no chance for BC. So although it was an ugly game and BC battled back to be a half yard short from winning it, our guys deserve some credit for not folding at the 1 and EARNING the win in an extremely ugly game.
  15. Keep the updates coming gov. I'm starting to feel better about the rest of the season.
  16. This may be a shootout. I'd kind of like to see a 77-70 type of game. What do you think alt? You in?
  17. It's been a rough weekend for ole Bulldog here. I know Maryville is Maryville, but if the O can't get back to moving the football any better than they did the other night, it might be a long night for us. The QB I keep hearing about has me scared to death. It will be nice to have a change in scenery coming down to Bradley County though. Looking forward to the game.
  18. Judging by the last few posts you have made, it seems like you may not be just a "high school football fan." It looks like you may have a little bit more of a connection to Bearden than your name suggests. Especially with information like you claim to be privy to. Regardless, it's definitely gonna be an uphill battle tonight. Bearden is better this year than last. Hopefully, the kids can show that tonight. Bearden has some talent that is flying under the radar because of how bad they were last year and the quality of wins this year. Maybe Maryville will sweat for a half a quarter. Hoping for safe travels and a safe game for all involved tonight.
  19. Whoa Whoa Whoa! I was responding to the guy blatantly disrespecting by saying we only scored on Karns. By no means am I comparing scores or think that by doing that it can show the outcome of this or any other game. Read the comments.
  20. Come on now Stars. You're about to get me killed on here now.
  21. Also scored 44 on William Blount...Alcoa scored 35 and DB scored 41. Also scored 31 on Hardin Valley...DB scored 24 and West scored 16 I recognize those aren't Maryville, as long as you recognize it's not just Karns...
  22. Looking forward to you all coming on over to the dawg house. Always enjoy the fan base and atmosphere that comes with the Rebels.
  23. From just having a boy around the program the last 3 years, this is not the same William Blount. Wins aren't coming in the first season. Shadowens has changed that place. He knows what he's doing. Stay with him. In all seriousness, Bearden just had a few more ball players and a little bit more big play ability. We've grown this year from last year as well. Hats off to your kids for a well fought ball game. It's a tough bunch that doesn't lay down.
