    Ok, this thread needs to be about the game, but I need to get this out. The disrespect that Summertown High School has received is purely dispicable. The Eagles flip flopped their record from 2-8 in their very FIRST year to 8-2 and playoff birth in their second year. The offense has gone from averaging 11 points a game last season to 32 points a game. Chase Mote has 1116 rushing yards and 21 total touchdown and has 127 tackles. Yet not much is said other than in Lawrence County. How many other teams do you see in a BRAND NEW program winning 8 games and making the playoff. That being said let's talk about the match up. Whitwell is 5-5 and 2nd in their region. Summertown is 8-2 and 3rd in their region. Who wins?

    This guy is an idiot. Kinda reminds me of me. Yikes Haha. But thanks for the poster board material. This could go either way. I say Waverly wins but not sure by how much. Blue White Tiger Pride.

    Oh wait breaking news # 5 had to be taken off the field #11 has lost his favorite target for the rebels.
    we are coming for the tigers with some hard hits they havent felt all year with the weak schedule and region they play. look what we did to riverside. where was #10 friday night for riverside. #11 might want to give him a call and see what pointers he can get on how that bench feels

    I gotta know? If Summertown couldn't stop CA in the second half, why is it that CA only scored 9 points. As to it being CA making mistakes, your pretty good at placing blame on kids. How old are you? You are on here talking about kids. Hey you know what, Mason Williams is really good at this game. His brother Jackson, he is as well. I played

    D-Line, so I naturally pay attention to D-Line. Columbia Academy didn't struggle with blocking because they just couldn't hold their blocks. Summertown is well coached. I was right below the D-Line coach. He does a great job. Strategy and effort from those boys is what hurt your running game. You took over rushing in the 2nd half because of your stable of backs. You had much better depth. That's ok though. We are the 2nd year program that forced the TN associated Press #8 to kick a field goal with 52 seconds remaining in the game. It's pretty crappy that you don't give these teenage kids credit and then downgrade the players your supposed to support.

     

    CA is just as good as I thought. They just played a horrible 1st half. Mainly the line. They weren't holding blocks like they know how so they were able to get through and stop the play easily. They fixed that in the second half, and Stown couldn't do anything to stop the run.

    There were lots of penalties that held CA back from scoring a lot more tonight. Stupid penalties. That kick off return TD should've never been called back though. I'm sure coach L will go hard on them this week making sure there aren't stupid penalties in this coming game.

    Just want to address this post. This is what I do for a living. CA 5 penalty 40 yards. Summertown 8 penalty 60 yards. Don't make excuses.

    That fan was me, never mentioned how the game would play out, but I'm sure if I had, Mr Rudy would had allowed it to go in one ear and out the other. Dude you have serious problems. Especially if you think that a fan could convince a well known media member to attend a game because that fan believes it'll be an upset. Wow. 😂😂😂😂

     

    Word on the street is channel 4 is gonna be at the game on Friday cause summertown fans convinced him it's gonna be a huge upset. Lol.

    I will tell you like I do the left wing idiots I encounter, show me where we have acted cocky? This forum gives you the ability to quote people. As earlier stated by someone earlier, VandyChris does not speak for the whole Summertown fan based.

     

    the reason I said what I did was because the Eagles have seemed to be pretty cocky on here so it's time for the Bulldogs to shut that up

    They graduated all 5 starters from last year.. But Trotter is a great coach.. They should compete for 2nd or 3rd in the district... Jordan Hughey... 6'5 post got his tooth drove into his gum against Harpeth... Waverly best play Taylor Rudolph is still adusting from Football to Basketball but they should be ok..

  22. 104 Fouls called in Summertown @ Eagleville games...

    I don't doubt the officiating wasn't great... But the foul numbers you posted don't seem back up the claim that the officials cost them the game. Yes, it's a lot of fouls and I'm sure it made the games unpleasant... But the foul numbers were fairly close. 29-22 and 31-22 aren't way out of balance toward one team. Timing of fouls... Well that's possibly a different matter.

    I see your point, but in the girls game they fouled out our best  player and the last foul called on her was bogus... That really costed the girls... As I said though the one quarter where the fouls were not outrageous Summertown clearly played better than Eagleville. Then the fouls started being called again and Eagleville pulled away.. Eagleville had fouls called on them but it seemed like they were only after Summertown had scored. One of the biggest issues last night was a Summertown boys player drove to the basket and got clotheslined and then had a charge called on him... Had the fouls not been called both Eaglesville teams could had still won, we will never know but the 104 fouls called was definitely ridiclous...

    Since there was no thread for the District I created one. Who finishes where. My thoughts.

     

    1-2 will come down between Perry County and Summertown... Do not know much about the Vikings but the Eagles are returning all 5 starters from last years District Title team. With a host of young core players coming off the bench. They are led by Mckenzie Kilburn who is a Trevecca Signee.

     

    3. Loretto- Coached by second year head coach Ashley Rutledge. They won last night by 52 against Cornersville.

     

    4. Frank Hughes- Last years District Runner up. Not a clue about them

     

    5. Collinwood- They graduated  3 starters.

     

    6. Wayne County- Graduated all 5 starters from last year.

     

    4, 5, and 6 are pretty much unknown to me so do not hold me to what I have said. Just based on what I have seen. Go Eagles.

    Summertown lost 83-72 to Eagleville last night. The officiating crew was the worst I have ever seen in the years I have been watching High School ball (9 years). 104 fouls were called in both boys and girls game combined. The Eagles boys seemed pretty tough. Played very hard and got out of the whole twice to bring the game within in 1 possesion twice, but the fear of the players fouling out costed them. They were not allowed to play defense without something being called. I hope we do not have that problem all year but we will see.. To top it off Eagleville had a 6'5 180 lbs freshmen playing point guard for them last night. He dropped 4 long 3-point shots. Beware playing Eagleville if they are on your schedule that kid is good.
