Interesting....I think Coach Clapp at Page, Coach Felzien at White House, and Coach Roach/Coach Kirby at Heritage would disagree. Coaching matters a whole lot! No doubt! However, quality talent usually wins out. Ridgeway was loaded with offensive firepower those years. Speed galore! You can coach first touch, movement off the ball, formational awareness, etc. You can not coach speed and athleticism. It is definitely a mix, and private schools are winning out on the talent, not the coaching. IMO, the coaches mentioned above do as good of a job as anyone in the state with the talent they are provided.

Very true! CPA would be big favorites over Heritage. If the regional championships go the same as the district championships, then this would be the matchup. A White House-Page match-up could be a very good one as well! I would actually probably give the edge to the young White House team in that one. I am totally a neutral observer; however, teams that are explosive have always been fun to watch. That is why I have found myself watching teams like USN, CPA, Heritage, and Clarksville. They can score at any minute.

I totally agree with you. Heritage seems to be a total wild card. I believe it is due to their skill level being lower than a top team, but their athleticism seems to be higher than those top teams. They do not seem to be true soccer players; instead, they are just raw athletes playing soccer. Make sense?

Outside of Jackson Christian a team from the West is setting themselves up to get pummeled. May be a rough one for that region 7 winner.

I believe Ridgeway won back to back state titles in thrashing fashion in the 00-01 seasons. I believe this is the last public school to win a A/AA state championship. White House and Page have both made the semis in the past 5 years, but that is as close as a team as gotten. 'Nuff said...

Interesting...I saw the White House-White House Heritage game earlier in the year (4-4 Tie) and Heritage looked by far like the better team. White House was very fortunate to leave the field with a tie. I was not at the district finals rematch, so I do not know what happened. I think that match and CPA-Page are the two most interesting A-AA matches tonight. Either one could most definitely go either way.

Agreed the A/AA state tournament is alphabet soup with the private school acronyms. Page, Greeneville, and the White House schools are the only ones that seem to compete these days with them. Something should obviously be changed.

CPA is trending neither up nor down in my opinion. Still solid. BGA= trending up, definite title contender again. USN= trending way up, frontrunner to win the state tournament in their classification. White House= trending way up, shaky start and looking impressive now. WH-Heritage better watch out for the Lady Devils in their district. MLK= neither up nor down. Page= MOST IMPRESSIVE TRENDING UP TEAM! CPA will be tested tonight BIG time. FRA= definitely trending up! Another title contender. DCA= neutral. Better soccer in the upcoming years for these girls. *These are some of the teams you mentioned in your post. Obviously, this is just one outsider's perspective.

If I am correct, all of these teams will meet in sub-state games. Therefore, only two teams will go to state out of CPA, Page, Spring Hill, WHH, and White House. Yikes! Tough sledding...
