Who will finish the regular season in last place for Region 1 6A and earn the priviledge of facing the top seed in Region 2? The contenders are Bearden, William Blount, and Jefferson County. All three teams have the same 1-5 region record with Bearden's and Jefferson County's lone win coming against William Blount while the Governors' lone win came against Dobyns-Bennett. While the DB game was a great win for WB, it may have had a different outcome had Dobyns-Bennett not lost their starting quarterback while leading 21-7. Maybe not. Looking back, it appears the Bearden and William Blount have both been much more competetive against region opponents than Jefferson County. The Patriots come into this week on a 3 game losing streak having been blown out by Hardin Valley, Science Hill, and Dobyns-Bennett the past three weeks. Bearden come in on a 4 game losing streak with a blowout loss to Maryville, and competetive losses to Bradley Central, Dobyns-Bennett, and Science Hill. The Govs enter the final regular season week on a 6 game slide with blowout losses Maryville and Science Hill and close losses to Heritage, Bearden, Jefferson County, and Hardin Valley. Jefferson County plays at Bearden while William Blount plays a Bradley Central team that has dropped their last 2 games since their All Region QB went down with a separated shoulder.

Who isn't banged up at this point?

Without Copeland, WB has a legitimate chance in this matchup. I was a little surprised at how close their game was against HVA. WB is definitely getting better.

In an attempt to get this thread back on track I will say that HVA should have a running clock at some point in the second half. #3 will run all over WB.

Well, that could not have gone much worse. HVA wins 35-0. I hope the Patriots can figure it out soon or they may not win another game.

The Patriots travel to Hardin Valley this week to take on the Hawks. The Patriots are coming of a 26-17 Homecoming win over William Blount while HVA is coming off a 23-7 win at Science Hill. Jefferson County is 1-2 in Region play with a win over William Blount and losses to Maryville and Bradley Central. Hardin Valley is 2-1 with wins over Bearden and Science Hill and a loss to Dobyns-Bennett Who wins?

I always thought the bands were supposed to stop playing during plays but that is obviously not the case. It should be.

Jefferson County had 3 turnovers too, one of them was a fumble on the goal which WB recovered for a touchback. I was pretty close on the score. I predicted 27-17 and the score was 26-17.

If I read it right, the teams Oakland has played have scored less points and allowed less points so far this season. Is that because the defenses are better or because the offenses are worse? I assume it's because the defenses are better.

Jefferson County has their bye week this week also. I'm hoping they will use it to correct some of mistakes they made against Bradley Central and Morristown West. I hope we have a big crowd for William Blount since it will be homecoming.

Yep, we led both Maryville and Bradley Central 7-0 and then got outscored 41-10 and 44-7 after the opening possessions.

Congrats on the win and good luck the rest of the season. I wish we could have given you a better game but we got pushed around all night. It was very disheartening.

I hope all of your best players are in the Homecoming Court and they miss the halftime adjustments. Of course, I also hope you have to make halftime adjustments.
