Peabody by a ton. Hopefully they will take the opportunity to get some work in

I feel bad for Huntingdon, realignment has killed their schedule, especially with their rich football tradition. Unfortunately besides Wayne Co, the region games don't give the mediocre or average joe football fans a reason to make the road trips, and it's a shame because they have a good team this year, see yall come playoff time, looking forward to seeing it unfold. This game might be interesting, have heard Lake Co has great athletes with a couple of home run threats. Think they may be able to hang in there for 1 to 2 quarters before Dresden's depth wins out. Dresden by 24

. Okay ysoangry, I can agree with most of this, Union City should be #1 for sure, and I think Huntingdon deserves to be higher, I'd put them at 2 or 3. Also think Dresden deserves to be in the top 5 or 6 at this time since I've heard they are vastly improved, but in all fairness they haven't played a quality opponent yet (Westview is closest and they are far from what they used to be). And hey they may be that good, just hard to judge by the competition thus far. But that will be determined soon. Even though Trenton has had problems getting everybody on the field at the same time, they are 3-1 and battle tested, I mean they played union city toe to toe and their record is more indicative of how good they are than some of these other teams. For once I agree with a Huntingdon fan. lol Personally, I have no issue with NCS being #2 and UC is hands down #1 until they suffer a loss (big if there). Being a Dresden fan I'm glad to see us at #3. I do think Trenton is a little high after what Huntingdon did to Milan last week and Trenton had to go to OT to beat Milan. Coalfield being undefeated and making it to the ship last year deserves top 5. Guess what I'm saying is I think Trenton should be 6 and Huntingdon 4 or 5. Next four weeks I can see lots of changes with 1,3 and 4 playing each other. Huntingdon will leapfrog a couple teams cause you wont be tested until Wayne County.

. 140 yards a game against south Fulton and Memphis mitchell is different than doing it against a quality opponent. I think he definitely does a great job running the veer and offense, executes great. I'd still take my chances making him take it downfield over the other backs though, just a one game observationUC quarterback ran for about 140yds/game in 1st 2 games of season. Last night's game Trenton's defense keying on containing quarterback, leaving option pitch open most of night.

2. Trenton Peabody is right up there as well. Definitely hope they meet again, a few plays here and there and the outcome could have been different. They have great athletes and without a question showed last night that they are a great team and its not just the Malone show. And with their balanced passing and running attack when they are full strength, they can play with anyone in west tennessee. They just need to get the full squad on the field at all times! After watching this game, it appears to me that this year it goes without saying that 1A football is as good as it's ever been in West TN. I would say without a doubt in my mind, that's its head and shoulders stronger than 2A this year, and the top teams could win against 75 percent of 3A.

First off, I'd like to congratulate both teams on a great game, well worth the price of admission. Two of the best high school teams I've seen at the 1A level period! As a fan of neither team, here are my takeaways from last night. 1. Union City is still the best team in 1A, but they are a little more vulnerable this year, especially against a team who can throw the ball downfield, and has size and depth in their lines. However stopping the veer is another matter, dang near impossible. But I think If a team decided to sell out on the pitch and force their quarterback to hold on to the ball when they go outside the box, that might eliminate the big play, don't know for sure but the QB didn't look like a big play threat last night compared to their RBs. But on the other side, that veer and those big linemen just wear you down, and that is what makes them so dominant. It's possible to win but very, very hard. Their consistency to get the 1st down and have long, physical drives makes it a mammoth task to stop them. Congratulations Tornadoes.
