  1. I think the Clarksville folks are talking about basketball or soccer or water polo or something.
  2. As much as I hate it, I'm going to have to agree with Brother Bump on the playoff opponents. The days of playing Melrose, Ridgeway. or even a stout Memphis East squad (at times) in the second and third rounds are over. This may well be the easiest road to the Semifinals ever. But, the question remains, will it help HC or hurt? I feel this is where coaching comes into play. The Patriot coaching staff knows quite well how to prepare the team mentally and physically for this situation. And, therefore, I think it helps them. They should be well rested, healthy, and extremely prepared. And my prediction for this week...HC keeps Northeast's whole team quiet. 56-0
  3. You can say that. Just don't mention that we're going to keep their running back quiet.
  4. It'll be hard to accumulate ten year's worth of stats, but I'll take the win-loss stat anyday. Beech and Henry County have been the elite of 5A (especially in Middle/West TN) for many years now. We can probably agree that both squads have had to be solid in all three phases of the game to experience the amount of success that they have.
  5. Amazing how one little ole word like "quiet" can ruffle so many feathers. The history of Henry County Defenses has accomplished keeping run-oriented offenses Quiet. Yes, there are occasions when this may not have been true. (Jaylen Hurd's 5,000 yard rushing night in Paris comes to mind). But, overall, Henry County's rush defense has been smothering. This fact has attributed to the numerous deep playoff runs and two gold balls over the last 15 years. And, once again, this will be a fact tonight. (54-0)
  6. Henry County has a history of keeping "great" backs quiet. Especially when the offense is as one dimensional as Brighton's. With no passing game, there's no way to keep the Patriot defense honest. The 28 point spread is generous to the Cardinals.
  7. Nice Weather Friday Night. This one gets ugly. BHS won't be facing Charmin Co. defense this week. HC 54 Brighton 0
  8. Milan won't play unless they know for certain that they will win. They finally agreed to play Henry County when HC was struggling to win 2 or 3 games a year. Then, when the program was getting turned around they dropped HC like a hot potato. There is a new regime in Milan, however, so who knows.
  9. Sorry, As Joe Biden says, I Choose Truth over Facts!
  10. Henry County ROLLS thru the Eagles. Close in the 1st quarter, then the wheels come off for NE. Running clock half way thru the 4th quarter. HC 48 Northeast 6
  11. Henry County Middle 20 West Creek 14 in Overtime
  12. Each of these teams is moving in opposite directions. HC will score a lot. The Wave's frustrations will truly show up this week. HC rolls 48-7
  13. Yanker has apparently tapped out, so I'll take over his "ALL-KNOWINGNESS". Since I was only one point off from perfection last week, I believe I have earned it. This is a snoozer... HC 62 Kenwood 13
  14. Big Red Rolls in this one: HC 33 Brentwood 10
  15. Looooooong Night for the Choctaws. A year's worth of frustration and a loss less than a week ago spells trouble for the Dyer boys. Henry Co. 42 Choctaws 0
  16. To quote the legend, Dandy Don Meredith, "If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, wouldn't it be a Merry Christmas"
  17. I would love for this to become a rivalry, but there are certain ingredients that must exist for this to happen. All the games not ending with a running clock is a start.
  18. That's it...Cancel the game Friday. Dyer has four all-stars. NO WAY the poor little Patriots can compete with that. And if I've learned anything over the years, there's nothing political about all-star rosters
  19. Now there's something we can definitely agree on!
