Hypothetical: Oak Ridge beats Clinton, Clinton beats AC, AC beats OR. who's the county champ?
So the only way there's a champ is if one teams beats both the other two.
Couldn't you just follow the tie breaking rules that TSSAA uses? go to over all record after the tie?

That was the underlying point of the post. Looking at the numbers of the other sports, its clear that there is some type of system used to determine how many classifications are justified... However TSSAA just threw that out the window for Football and made up its own system to maximize profits.
Until we get rid of coaches like the wrestling coach at Halls, other sports will never be treated equal.

Great results but a great AD would give all this credit to his coaches. No athletic director should tie himself to championships. Field upgrades, facility upgrades, coaches integrity, athletes grades and overall department moral should be associated with the AD's success.
A great friend of mine does an unreal job at AE Jeff Black and he hasn't even been mentioned. The work he does behind the scenes to better the coaches and athletes lives is second to none. I doubt many of the AD's mentioned would even take a shot to do the work he has done.
Someone else who will do wonders with his leadership with in his community is Coach Black at Fulton.
I agree with you. Jeff is one of the best AD in Knox County if not the state for the time and effort he puts in to his community.

I stand in the box and I wouldn't consider myself a coach, although i'd love to call a play or two.
You must carry the chains

I believe your only under the coaching tree if your listed on TSSAA coaching portal for the school. If your at the school doing drills with the players during high school practice then yes they could/should be considered. Many though don't list all their coaches and i'm sure its not for this reason.
There are rules being broke specifically dead period rules with coaches in contact and campus access that happens at every school every year. I believe its just a fish TSSAA isn't willing to cast a line to catch. You see it but you don't want to have that carp on your line because of the fight and once you get it on board its not worth anything.
Sorry for the fishing reference I have been doing a lot of fishing in the evenings now with more free time.
I think the TSSAA takes a more common sense approach then most assume in these situations. It is easy for one to look at a person running/training athletes in 7 v 7 or sports specific camps for that matter, using the same concepts as the inseason play calling, riding buses paid for by the AD, and standing inside the box or in the booth on top of the barn with Davy is a connection or link if you will regardless who is listed on the portal

Yep, Bow yourn head when you say the name of the great John Bean.
these morons in the stands that criticize and second guess these coaches, don't even have a clue how little they really know about what is going on down on the field. It drives me crazy, I cannot sit in the stands anymore, just can't take it.
Nor does anyone else that has said they are not a coach and have been on the sidelines. Coaches stand inside the box, everyone else stands down on one end or another.

I stand on the sidelines at away games, I'm no coach. I just walk out there like I belong and nobody says a thing. ha ha
Yeah but you don't stand in the box cat

I have stood on the sidelines of AC games but I don't think anyone would consider me a coach.
Have you stood on the sideline for every home game?

My vote is a tie between Gary “ol hickory” terry and Scotty boy out at ol Billy B! Pretty tough job week in and week out getting people kind of excited for games! GT, besides throwing out his own resume on coach t is a class act. It’s hard to make the argument he doesn’t care about other sports when I personally have seen him laying down painters tape for soccer lines on the football field and they were pretty straight too

He's more than a name. He's a guy with a solid history, and his NFL experience and contacts more than offset a lack of coaching years experience. He knows a little about the game.
We'll find out soon.
It will be interesting

I didn't think I would ever see him leave the first time, so never say never.
And on Webb, hearing they are going out of state for a prominent alum who is the current head coach at a similar private school. And if he wants the job I don't see the trustees offering anybody else.
I think the Trustees think the Lowe can foster a better more similar culture in the program than Chad can right now. Sayre in Lexington is a good home for him where and alot of people already know that pulling a coach out of other surrounding states to come coach in TN isnt always the best choice. I see why you think they hire Chad if he wants it but its a hire on name alone

Many folks thinking this but no one saying it….

Win or lose Karns is in the playoffs, why would this be Bishops last game, unless you mean regular season, I think you are right about chippy. Probably a lot of genealogy and heridity talk on the field. Yes Clinton went out of the playoffs with the Lenoir City loss I believe.
He means that if Karns loses that they lose the chance to host a playoff game which would make that his last HOME game

This is what i'm saying he played the entire game last year and every down.
BB, it is not very (Grace) Christian like of you to personally attach people and their character. Great job on turning the other cheek OR cat. Maybe Burrville can get a new job next year at his 6th or 7th school in as many years.

Once the TSSAA finds out all the details on the recruiting going in Clinton and the players “living” with the head coach and others he won’t have a choice to but to leave. It’s a matter of time. Now is when you go look at my profile and see I just joined and made this account. That’s because I have never posted before and I couldn’t keep quite on this one

Clinton shouldn't hang their heads too much after that one. They still have a legitimate shot at the playoffs, assuming they take care of business against Lenoir City. It'll come down to the Karns game. I could see 100 combined points in that one. If Clinton were to beat Karns, we could definitely end up with a 3-way tie for those last two playoff spots in region 3. In that scenario, with overall wins being that first tiebreaker, I think the Cougars would be the odd man out (Clinton would be #3 and Karns #4).
A lot can happen between now and then, but let the speculating begin!
Head to head win is the first tie breaker

Big game for the both teams for playoff positioning or not. Plus I know that Clinton really wants to hang a second "made it to the playoffs" banner on their fence.
It’s a pretty big game for the Dragons. If they lose here I don’t believe they go to playoff seeing how Karns wins by a few trickles over OR

I think it would be easier and more of a hot ticket item if we did an Anderson County Kick off Classic or Jamboree of some kind each year and rotate fields to get teams in the county some extra money at the gate for their program.
