Got the story.  Class history project about things that happened in the 60s  and a group of students chose segregation.  They illustrated segregation by  labeling 2 water fountains.  A picture was taken by another student and posted on Snapchat with no context which created some controversy which was immediately dealt with by the administration.  Anything to add YB?

Spot on with that. Just probably would have stayed away from that kind of project in the current climate these days.

Moooooooooo, moooooooooooo!  The Mighty Mavericks?  Please.  But that Davey boy is a sexy beast.  I keep hearing about a Davey Gilliam statue going up over there just outside of  The Papaw Stair barn they run out of.  lol

OR cat, heard anything about a photo from the end of last week taken at OR having to do with water fountains?

Nothing like watching the wildcats and dragons at each other while the Mavericks could beat both.

The mavs coaching staff get their plays from PlayStation and wear letter jackets as grown men on the sidelines of games. Go back to the kiddie table and eat your mac and cheese

What would be your idea of "addressed appropriately"?

Btw, Clinton players use that same slur directed at OR players throughout the game.  And anybody that has ever played in that game can tell you the same.  Is that the culture that is being taught at Clinton?  C'mon man.

Okay, I'll drop it cat.  I mean, the head coach did get a picture with the director of the Boys and Girls club there in town so I'm sure it's all smoothed over.

For sure very unfortunate situation there,  over and done with, we've moved on.

Side note:  that former OR qb you referred to will most likely have to get his 4th win over Clinton in a Karns uniform.

I'd try to move on fairly quick as well.  GCA probably will try to move on from yesterday as quickly as well.  Just wish more were concerned with why the leader of the program and may diehard fans wanted the kid to continue to be a part of the team.  Is that the OR culture we all never really get to see.  I was told people were mad at kids for outing the QB in the first place.  Its crazy how so often these things are just "moved on" from instead of addressed appropriately.  Maybe the coaches at Karns can teach him that.

It's great to see Clinton fans excited about sports.I know it must be hard after all these years and no state championships for any sport in the school history.Do we have any gamblers on the T?If I gave you this 3 pick parlay for Clinton this year what would your pick be? Over/under 3.5 on Clinton cupcake wins,Clinton players tazed after game, really dumb things military man will say during season

What is the over-under on players from OR using racial slurs towards each other and the principal and school board having to remove them from the team instead of the head coach?

Welcome back Bonkers! Long time no posty.   Yep these OR threads are great.   We got it all. We have the critics of the program, we have the haters, we have the wanna be's, we have the know it all football experts, we have parent imposters with agendas,  we have imposters with multiple screen names, and it goes on and on.  Never a dull moment once the season gets going.  Should be another wild ride for Oak Ridge football fans and haters alike.  I can't wait.

Gotta love football in east TN

What are the teams in  the area that dont like Oak Ridge.Clinton has been a trainwreck for years but too worried about what AC and Oak Ridge are doing to fix it.Oak Ridge has a top 10 or 5 team in state about every yr but I guess thats not enough for a Clinton fan.Go play more give me wins and act like things are getting better and we will worry bout Oak Ridge.Coach Cummings will make you proud in the next decade

I hope Gaddis keeps doing his show next year or cummings picks it up so you have a place to get your football lingo fix and coaching tips.  It will only be a matter of time until Cummings is flipping the bird at his own student section as they chant "daddy Ball"! Ask halls...

Side note: as good a coach as you sound like, I think coach duff may be looking for some assistants

Put a team together and see if Clinton will put you on their schedule coach

Why are you coming on here trying to be negative about Oak Ridge?Do you have something against Oak Ridge or Coach Cummings.Who is your team? Just trying to figure out where all your comments are coming from?I seen where somebody said something about Clinton to you but surely a Clinton fan wouldnt be trying Oak Ridge

And God forbid a Clinton fan "Try" OR. It is those comments by OR fans that make most teams in the area not like OR.  What has OR done in the last decade besides beat West on a lucky call to cake walk into a state game?

I just thought this was a place to exchange ideas about programs in our area?  Not trying to be negative.  I guess when it comes to OR we can only discuss the positive things?

Idk YB. Coach told me again today Rogers is practicing and working hard.   We are losing a senior wr though, not named Rogers.  I guess we will have to wait and see.  Like you said, the A B A thing isn't going to work anyway.   I do know this much, if he is planning to leave, he hasn't mentioned it to anybody on the coaching staff to this point.  He is practicing and wearing cardinal jersey #1.  You can see him for yourself, in the flesh at Blankenship at Tuesday's practice.

You may be right Cat, I just heard he was the one looking at TKA but you know how things change with kids from day to day.  I hope he stays with you all and performs well.  He is a good kid that has just been a little misguided by the wrong adults in the past.

To be fair, isn’t that the case with any Coach? What would Gaddis in his heyday been without Lussier as DC, Rankin without Nix, Quarles in his heyday without Jimmy Gaylor, Ditka without Buddy Ryan? And the list goes on………A HC is only as good as the coaches he has surrounding him.  That has always been the case, and today it’s no different.

This is a fair statement. I should of been more clear in my opinion that Cummings hasn't always hired the best guy to call his D

So..... a former Vol/NFL player as D coordinator isn't going to cut it?  Are you making your stand there?  With any changes to any program, there will be some turnover.  It happens.  Also, everything is new, offense and defense.  I expect a slow start to next season and finishing stronger.  But, I like what I see out of this staff so far.

Didn't that same D coordinator get demoted at Catholic?

What little I have got to know our new coach has been great.I have no doubt he will have us on top in no time.If you are good he will find a way for you to help the team.Ive been impressed and if parents can get behind him and just tell little Johnny to go to work they will be happy in the end.Its too bad so many kids today are taught its all about them because its so much better when you play for the right reasons.Im just glad my parents told me to get better instead taking my side when I would complain about not getting ball enough. We have some really good players and it can get good quick if we can fix or improve a few areas in yr 1.Go Wildcats

I can appreciate your excitement. He is a good coach, but I think everyone knows he is only as good as his Defensive Coordinator. He scores points but most of OR games will turn into shoot outs… if he has any players left by August

Heard the same on the WR.  Hear a public school in Knox County public and a private school in Sevier County are in play.

He would have to move in to the zone to be eligible at another public school, and I am pretty sure he would have to move to be eligible at the private schools, too.

Yeah, the A, B, A move wont work here without a move.
