I have two sons on the Warriors team and I will be cheering for them to get the win tonight. However, as I see the Dragons run on the field tonight I am sure that a smile will come to my face as I think of one of the greatest young men I ever met who wore his York letterman with pride. His name was Ronnie Swafford. I Went on a mission trip with Ronnie when I was 15. He was a gentle giant. I will never forget him having kids in the slums of Monterrey Mexico flock to him, they were amazed at his size (especially his feet). He was one of the kindest persons I ever met! He made an impact on many people. My heart broke as a teenage boy when I heard that he had been in a wreck on his way to take the ACT and had died. Tonight I want my Warriors to win but for my friends sake part of me will always cheer for the dragons.

How will the region teams do tonight? I figure McMinn is an underdog at Bradley. Rhea,Ootlewah and White should be big favorites I don't know anything about the Chattanooga area teams: How will the Soddy/Central, Walker/Hixson, and Cleveland/East Hamilton games play out?

We came to Jamestown last year and won by 18 in a very sloppy game. I really believe that we are a much better team this year. I also believe that we really didn't show what we are capable of last week. I hope we can get some momentum going as we head into our brutal regional schedule.

Why even bring the varsity? We wouldn't want anyone to get bored. Whoever comes will find a team that will play hard this year! We know what we are up against in this region. We are getter better. We probably have a ways to go but I like what I am seeing.

You guys as well. You will be fine in 1A.

Sparta had several players out including a two time thousand yard rusher and one of our best defenders. I really believe we are better but honestly that is not saying much.

Last year we (White County) really struggled in the region. We lost by 30 to almost every region opponent except Cleveland. We lost to them by 8 and scored over 30 points on them. This year many seem to say that Cleveland is the clear favorite. What makes them the team to beat? New players? Many players returning? There are some really good teams in this region and every week will bring some tough games. I believe that we will be more competitive this year at least. I am just glad it's football season again!

White county coaches made some great adjustments at half time. First half was a little sloppy and we were actually tied 7-7. We are trying to get used to a new offense and defense and it seemed to get better as the game went along.

Sorry to tell you boys but that is backwards. We won 35-7. We do have a new coach and staff and they did a great job tonight. Sure we were playing a smaller school, but the offense got clicking! We had about 10 boys sitting out tonight because of a disciplinary reason. We really got off to a good start tonight. Go Warriors!

I saw Bledsoe score once on a mix of 1s and 2s. White scored a few times. White has some players but not enough to compete with schools with twice the numbers. We have about sixty boys out. We have too many guys going both ways. I actually think we will be better and will compete with most for a while but will struggle when our guys get tired. I think we should handle the three non district games other than Cookeville. The District will be tuff. I would love to see us surprise a couple of teams but realize what we are up against. I think we will play hard and at least be physical...

I think that many of the boys on the team hope that they hire from within. I am pleased with the leadership that is being given by the assistants during the transition. I really believe that the coach you are speaking of is a great guy and connects well with the boys.

As a parent of a couple players on the team, I really would like to see the administration make a decision soon! The boys are working hard in the weight room but they need to know who their leader is going to be! They need someone pushing them and laying out a vision for how they are going to get better! I really believe that there is a chance for the Warriors to get better in the next few years. The JV only lost one game last year and should have won it. They have the chance to have a huge line in the next few years as the freshmen and sophomore classes have some big boys. Richmond who gained over 1000 yards will be back to run behind whatever line is put together. Our biggest challenge though is the district we are in. Every week it seemed like we were facing teams with twice our numbers. We had guys going both ways and even if we hung around for a quarter or two we would get tired and give up big plays in the second half. Whoever is named our coach, will have my full support as a parent, and fan. I am praying most of all that He will be someone who can help shape our young men into men of character, who go on to be good husbands, fathers, and productive citizens.. And a few more wins wouldn't hurt.
