Athlete for athlete this one isn't close, but.....  Coach Webb will have a plan to run the clock and keep this one close for awhile. I believe Tyner will hit some long passes that will ultimately be the difference in the game. Tyner by 21 after pulling away in the second half.

You may be right about the long passes and I could see Tyner winning just because of who they have on their team. The amount of great athletes they have is incredible. Athletes we don't compare, but I bet they have more heart. They want to win and it's shown. I kind of feel like this compares to Austin East. Not saying Tyner is AE and AE is Tyner, but both have some pretty good athletes. I only mention AE because the players alone are similar to what Tyner has to offer. I do believe Rockwood will be prepared, obviously I have to say that or what kind of fan would I be? I want them to win, but I won't be surprised if they don't.

I see where Rockwood played A.E. the past two(2) years.  2015 was a 33-27 win but last year was a 40-0 lost!! None of that will have anything to do with Friday night. It will be about match-up's, execution and turnovers! It's looking like another clear and cold night on Friday. Coach Turner will have the kids ready and "pumped" for this one!

Are you coming up here to watch the game? I probably won't get to go, but from my house I can hear the announcer and the crowd. Even inside of my house LOL.

LOL. Your field does run downhill to the hotdog stand and it would be tough for even #4 to start at Mecca. BUT, I KNOW it’s tough to win at Civitan. Brought many a team in there that was FAR superior and struggled to pull out a W.

You've done cursed us. I saw you replied to the post and I expected you to say we'd get beat just like everyone else. We've got some bad juju now, LOL.

I like your small town football. Tyner will give you a chance only if they have one of those games I have mentioned them usually having where they make a ton of mistakes. They have talent like a 4,5,or 6A team would have.

Mistakes or not, I'm hoping for a good game and not a blowout like others are talking about. To see a team like Rockwood, who hasn't made it to the state championship in an extremely long time, would be a nice story to tell. Obviously this will be the toughest game they'll play in an extremely long time too.

They should be in this spot most seasons. The talent that they possess is unreal. Usually they have one of those games where they have 4-5 turnovers or 100 yards in penalties. So far they have been able to avoid that in the playoffs. They will beat Rockwood by 28 or more.

This is exactly why I wanted to see Rockwood play Tyner. I want to see where Rockwood matches up. I was curious on why Coach Webb doesn't schedule a team like Tyner. To see where we stand. They've been the underdog plenty of times, and I understand Tyner is by far the better team and no comparison to Meigs at all, but we will see.

Meigs is no Tyner.........Rockwood has a chance though, they are where most teams want to be, playing after thanksgiving.......

Meigs is no Tyner. Tyner is a great football team. That's why a few weeks ago I wanted to play them. Playing Tyner will really test and see how good Rockwood actually is. I personally wanted to know that. I was saying also a few weeks ago, how come Coach Webb doesn't schedule a team like Tyner or some of the better teams and gauge how good his team is.

Well, here we are RTF19...the two teams on the Coacht boards who were least likely to advance(according to the prognosticators). Just goes to show its always won on the field!!

Big game After a big meal(Thanksgiving)..don't eat too much!

You don't either! A lot of people will say there's no way Rockwood can win this game and or the Rams will roll. You absolutely never know until you get on that field! I hope both teams play well and no one gets hurt. I for one hope this is a back and forth game until the last few seconds, minutes, or whatever. I would love it if Rockwood proves everyone wrong like we did tonight against Meigs, but we will see.

Preview from that Hargis mans paper:

ROCKWOOD TIGERS (9-3) at MEIGS COUNTY TIGERS (12-0)

Storyline: These Region 2 opponents met Sept. 15 at Meigs County, with the home team winning 48-27. Rockwood left that night 2-3, but it hasn't lost since. It is a senior-heavy team that runs a wing-T offense, with sophomore QB Nate Brackett (6-3, 215) directing things behind a big line. Rockwood's first option is inside to FB Ryan McCain (6-3, 215), who's flanked by scatback types in WBs Joe Ashburn (5-7, 140) and Zander Price (5-9, 170). And like most teams that operate this type of offense, it primarily wants to run the ball. But Brackett has a strong, accurate arm and has shown he can make all the throws, including deep. He may have a hard time trying to upstage his counterpart, though. In the earlier meeting, Meigs QB Aaron Swafford, a Mr. Football finalist, ran for four TDs and passed for three. With the recent emergence of RB Martin Smith, who has gained approximately 500 rushing yards the past three games, Rockwood may not be able to solely concentrate on trying to contain Swafford. It tried five-, four- and three-player defensive fronts the first time. Meigs showed its last opponent, Happy Valley, a couple of things it hadn't seen on video. The team that adjusts best should be able to gain an edge. The thing is, there's no time to wait until halftime for that. It will have to be done earlier — and on the fly.

Rockwood was the home team when they first played.
