You're absolutely right. I as well as some of the players pretty much begged Coach Jarrett at the beginning of the season to add some tougher opponents such as Haywood, Fayette Ware, South Side and some Memphis teams even Mitchell use to be on our schedule during the season but anyone that knows him knows its hard getting him out of his ways to do something different.LOL. But you have a good point. I honestly think they're ready for whatever though. Offensive wise, this is the best team to come through Halls ever. Including our state teams in '02 & '04. Our only weakness is depth. So we're working to develop other players to be ready by tournament time.

Our schedule is as tough as any other single A team that isn't in Memphis. Adamsville, Gibson Co, Union City, Humbolt, Camden, Ripley, Liberty aren't just pushover teams. And early Nov. Martin Westview and Obion. All these teams are tough and Ripley is as tough as they come. Like Bullshark said, Halls is the real deal.

I wondered about how good Clay Co really was but I'm in west tn and don't know anyone out east who knew anything about them.

2000 plus people Sold out Ripley high school gymnasium Saturday night for a showdown between (AA) #4 Ripley and (A) #2 Halls. About 200 people was turned away cause the gym was filled to capacity... Its was a Sub-State atmosphere and by far one of the most exciting high school games I've ever seen. Baskets were traded the entire night between the two until Ripley pulled away in the 2nd quarter by 10 but Halls kept their composure and brought it within 2 at the half with Ripley leading 44-42. The game remained within 2-4 points until about 5 mins in the 4th when Halls began to pull away score ending was 106-98 with Halls coming out on top remaining undefeated at 16-0. Epic game. I think we finally got it together this year. I hope we can maintain the level of intensity and continue to play as a team. We do that it will be hard for any team in the state to beat us... But great effort by both teams...

I honestly think you guys have way better guard play than UC. Weddle shot lights out though. I think he may have hit at least 8 from down town. He missed only one. It was a good game. I'm sure it will be totally different in UC though.

What a lot of people don't know is that our guys can shoot it foreal. It wasn't just a lucky night or just one of those nights where shots were falling. Those kids can really shoot. I definitely agree. UC will be a great test cause they can shoot it as well. Come on down Tuesday night and watch some good basketball.

I agree with the tunnel vision thing. I don't sugarcoat anything when it comes to our players. If they suck at something I let them know. I'm their biggest critic. When we went 8-0 last year I knew we would fall to the teams we fell to because of how they played as a unit. They weren't together. There was a lot of jealousy and everyone was for self. I told the guys they would lose. So no tunnel vision here. I'm a fan of basketball. Not just Halls. I won't even say we're the best because I know how tables can turn and teams can have a bad night. I do know that we have it together now and we are a tough team.

Who cares about how many times someone has lost to a team? This UC team doesn't compare to the past ones. Y'all lost Lebron, Wade, and Bosh(big 3) last year and still feel like y'all have the top team lol. Not even close. But I feel like any team can lose on any given night and UC isn't exempt. It kills UC fans to give anyone else any kind of credit. My personal opinion, it should be a good game.

I don't disagree with anything you said... This was our big man's lowest scoring night. He's normally in the 25-30 pt range every game. But like you said, we have a complete team and if one is having a off night the others know they have to step up like tonight. Our other guard #2 stepped up and did what had to be done. I don't think he missed from the outside. A lot of ppl don't remember him from last year because he was only 5'4 lol. We still have a tough district. I don't think it will be easy but I think our guys are up for the challenge this year.

We were this talented last year we just didn't have any chemistry. We got it together now. But based on these message board comments people are still sleeping on us. We're not mentioned when top teams are discussed.

Yea I saw the 6'8 guy play the first game. He was playing a lot around the perimeter wanting to shoot most of the time. Which I think he would've been more beneficial inside. The guy handling the ball (#11) was pretty good. He just didn't have any help. Hopefully we'll get a chance to meet up again tournament time when y'all are at full strength...

Ok because Halls dominated the entire game. Three starters missing definitely makes a big difference.

Get an early sneak peak of Halls vs TCA tomorrow at Ripley High School. Come out and check them out. Will be 6 other teams playing also. Full day of good basketball.
