  1. So 16 seasons out of twenty that he went either .500 or above? And we have how many since his "retirement"?! Heck nah, no way would I have hired him back! Perfect example of Mcnairy central ignorance. And.....oh by the way, Everybody knows why he took the job in MS. You could be from NorthEast Tn and figure that all out just by reading our message board of shame!
  2. Tradertwo I agree with you totally! Like it or not, a coach is in place and now the kids will have a vision again. Personally, if everyone will just let him do his job, I think he will succeed. You can't just sit around and wait for something bad to happen. It's support and positives that the program needs. If you can't get behind him then just get out of his way!
  3. All you guys are right on. First it's an injustice to the kids who are out there everyday and still have no idea who's leading them. We have assistants walking out as well. They deserve better. Secondly, pretty much all applicants wasn't very appealing and the income won't lure a proven winner. And finally, I just hope that the "ones" involved with the last couple hires and fires don't have input In this hire. If so, we will be in the same place in two years as we are now. It's time to make a call and do the best we can and do it now. This political BS has become a comedy show for whoever Is watching!
  4. I sat with a couple of the player's dads at the last game and there is a storm brewing! A complete mess internally. Regardless of the talent this team has/don't have or the opponent that they are playing, this program will NEVER be turned in a different direction with Brown holding the reins. For those that have commented on this thread, pointing fingers at the kids and parents..........your totally wrong. He's ran off more talent than he has left on the team already and that number is going to keep growing as the year goes on if nothing changes. It has nothing to do with hard nosed coaching because those same kids have been coached that way their whole lives. They understand that its a coaches job to break them down so they can be rebuilt. Thats just the way it is suppose to work. It's the constant verbal abuse, negativity, and the bullying that comes from Brown every time those kids lace their shoes up and step onto the gym floor. It doesn't matter if its practice or at games, they only are exposed to the degrading rants and the positives never come. Ultimately, the kids start questioning themselves and before long playing basketball isn't the same. The confidence that once was possessed cant be replaced. They can't get past the fact that the man that leads them into battle don't believe in them and it becomes more and more difficult to believe in each other. They just keep being bent until finally he breaks them entirely. The sad thing about this is this is allowed to take place. Wasnt there a zero tolerance policy put in place not that long ago for bullying and you was to be removed from school and placed into alternative school?? Seems that if an adult, faculty member was guilty of failing to adhere to this policy he/she would be removed as well. Parents are becoming more and more impatient by the day they say it isnt getting any better, only worse as the L's start to pile up. How long before one of the parents snap because they can't sit and witness their child receive any more mental abuse? After the parents have tried to fix this the right way with zero success, what's left for them to do? Do they Whatch their child lose their love for the game and walk away from all they have ever known like the rest have done, or do they simply get fed up and go straight to the source. I dont blame a parent for whatever they are forced to do. It wasn't like the school administration wasn't aware of what they was hiring because he arrived with more baggage than he could carry. Doubters.........ask the Hardin Co folks if you dont want to believe it. Now they would rather just sweep this under the rug than deal with it because they know his plans are to retire within a year or so. So just sacrifice the kids until hes gone?. It's almost like they hired this guy to come in and shut the program instead of to rebuild it. That's not acceptable!
  5. Failed that test! It was really hard to watch tonight.
  6. Mcnairy ran the Tigers out of the roundhouse with a blowout win a couple weeks ago. Hardin co is 7-1 with the lone loss coming from the Bobcats. Can Brown and the Cats get it done again?
  7. Has Woodmore put in for the job yet? I was told that he put his name in the last couple of times and that he wasn't putting in for the job this time. Has anyone heard of any other names floating around? Kinda has went silent as of late.
  8. Bobcats83 looks like it's back to reality. Brown and crew have dropped two straight, with the last against Alcorn Central a huge embarrassment! Brown was in true form tonight as well. His outbursts really seemed to have a negative affect on players and in return caused for a very poor performance from the entire team. Their body language said it all. Tonight proved to many that things haven't changed near as much as one might have thought. Now the program hecklers and the "anti-browns" can say I told you so and it would be difficult to argue even after such a promising first four game start to the season. The breakdown was truly disheartening for those who where so optimistic. Not counting the first two games, the W against Hardin co. was impressive regardless if Hardin was coming off a hard fought victory or not. The way the Bobcats shot the ball at such a high percentage and the aggressiveness on defense was pleasantly surprising in itself. Browns sideline mannerisms wasn't so bad and the teams play proved talent isn't quite as absent as we all mighta thought it was. It actually pumped excitement into the fanbase and gave a bit of hope to those that are so eager to see success again. Simply proof that we can actually compete any given night. After looking at crocketts record and how close they played Jackson SS, the loss on Tuesday might not have been so bad. A little far away for me to travel so im going strictly on what i was told, i heard we could have won this game too if some suspect calls against us and A few bad decisions from our bench woulda been just a bit different. i was pleased to hear that the players still really fought hard after getting into a hole early and actually made it a game with an opportunity to steal a quality road W at the end. So considering all, it wasn't the end of the world because we was 3-1 and could possibly have been 4-0. Puzzling, I find it hard to understand how someone that has coached as long as Brown still hasnt figured out that kids react differently to criticism and his blow ups are costing him more so than being a motivation. You can really tell that it changes the performance of this years group for the worst. Some have argued that it's the kids fault if they have a hard time "manning up" to his style of coaching. I disagree with that totally. Some kids have been beat down at home or wherever and will lay it all on the line for a coach that is more positive with them. Sometimes, in these situations, that type child will forever look at that coach as a father figure and role model, a positive in their life they always needed. On the flip side, Others do have to be pushed and challenged a little more aggressively. Maybe because they get a touch lazy or maybe thats simply a way to light a fire in them that causes them to get after it more, each player has different buttons to be pushed. This isn't anything new. I assumed that he was far more capable of handling such a matter.
  9. So what's usually the normal time frame a school shoots for when hiring a coach? Especially since the lack of direction over the last couple years, wouldn't you think.....if you was hoping for a good find, that time was of the essence right now? With several vacancies in the area, and schools jockeying for the best they can find, wouldn't it make since not to just sit around and wait on someone to fall from the heavens and show at least a little urgency? Just wondering......
  10. Bobcats make the Jackson Sun Dandy Dozen for the first time in a long time. Probably won't stay there long but at least they get some early season recognition. Maybe a confidence builder for a young team.

  12. Baseball and not football? We looking for a baseball coach or a football coach?
  13. I agree. And I'm sure that anybody that ever played for Browder would agree as well. Everytime he comes around, you will always see former players flocking to him. It says a lot about who he is and the impact he has on the guys that play for him! How could there ever be a better choice? He's been there and done that already. For those that post the negativity about him, their kids wasnt good enough to play for him or it could be that if he returns they know they will lose their control over the program. They are the reason why we are at current state.
  14. Why not just send the boys on over to aville since they compete for gold balls every year instead of taking away from their staff. Makes more since. If you can't beat them.....steal from them, I mean join them! Why even bother! So many coaches in our bleachers anyways! Save the money! We would just fire him in a couple years anyway
  15. What's your thoughts now Bobcats83? Just Run Hardin Co outa the gym! The same team that beat Bolivar the other night. No contest from the very start! Girls 0-3 Boys 3-0
  16. 9oldschool5 I was just meaning to limit the traffic on the playing field until it gets back to where it needs to be. Before it got outa hand, it could handle peewee, jh, and hs games. One year of having to use it for practice and little to no maintenance done a real number on it. It's amusing to me how one would think our facilities is what needs the most attention. If that's the case we should just hire a lawn service owner and let him coach too!
  17. I was in the locker room this year as a matter of fact. Yes, a new field house would be everyones choice, but as bad as you think ours is, many places are far worse off than ours. Brandon allredge and skylar Crayton are two young assistants that do get after it. The last coach wouldn't allow any help from assistants so they wasn't utilized at all. Hodge wanted to be in full control of everything and seldom would take any other coaches input. Neither are ready to be a head coach, but could be eventually. And as far as not going down the Browder road again, nah I wouldn't either. Y'all get in your little hiring committees again and find someone to be your puppet and will do this again in a couple years. You can like the guy or not, but he wins football games. Proly not a good fit at Mcnairy if he can win is he??
  18. Parents and fans were spoiled by the Tommy Browder era until winning 8 games and making the playoffs every year wasn't enough anymore. Browder was forced out it's been all down hill since. Not all coaches can produce those type results every year. Our facilities are headed in the right direction now. Our playing field will be back in much better condition in the next year or so. Keeping the Pee-Wee and Junior High off of it would help greatly. As far as the amount of money we have to offer......money wasn't an issue when our program was winning! There is nobody in house to give job to. However, we do have a couple young assistants that get after it and work there butts off. Finally......question for you......how long after Gray was hired before Aville started winning? Not enough patience around here for that one. Solution- for the ones that ran him off, swallow that pride, bring Browder back. Problems solved!
  19. Tommy Browder would be a good get for Riverside. A lot of us at McNairy would love nothing more than for him to come back home because we haven't won here since he was pushed out. After a year at Scotts Hill as OC, I think that he has caught a second wind and will be head coaching again soon somewhere. Robertson was an assistant on his staff at McNairy and I figure it's very possible hes at least on the list.
  20. The football hires wasnt on franks, but I think basketball was. Really no options to choose from for basketball. Let's not throw him to the wolves just yet because like him or not he is capable of getting this mess fixed. He has an opportunity here to score big, but the clock is ticking. This will determine if hes AD material.
