FYI........there are some nice photos on the Jackson Sun website. I thought you all might like to see them. There are pictures of Peabody, Middleton, Bolivar, Jackson North Side and that's all I remember. I'm sure there are more that I didn't notice. One picture I found interesting was a picture of the Peabody/Middleton game where McKinney is going for a shot and Dex Fields is falling over and Mack Ashburn is attempting a block.

I just read the article about Willie Kemp and his Mom. That is so sad. It made me cry. I really wish him and his family well. I don't even know him, but my heart goes out to him. Someone posted earlier that he didn't shoot very well during the tournament, maybe this had something to do with it. That is IF he didn't shoot well.

You guys won and I congratulate you on that. However, you should just enjoy the moment instead of coming in here to harp on someone else........if you REALLY believe there's more to life than basketball. Great game Middleton!

The original plan was to leave Friday. Deposits were paid and chartered buses were scheduled to be there at 5 am Saturday. We still had several folks there.............our coach and team were very appreciative of the crowds they had.

They are also going to miss the homecoming celebration for the TIDEMEN. Which they ALL regret!

As I said, the band left YESTERDAY. They were still here while the girls were playing. And we were still in school so numerous announcements were made and school was dismissed early for them to attend. Yes, I know. The opportunity for them to march in a parade came and the band boosters jumped in with both feet. They did all the fundraising and deposits had to be made back in November.............all before anyone realized the latest they could leave and make the parade was early Saturday .............and upon looking at the calendar......realized it was the boys championship game day. Nothing they could do about it then. Many were just sick about it, but what could you do.

As I have posted in another thread.......the Peabody Band of Gold left for Florida Saturday morning at 6:00. That is 1/3 of our student body....seriously. Then you add all thier families.....takes a pretty big chunck out of our cheering section. Half of the cheerleaders are in the band. In addition, our school is on that new schedule, 9 weeks on---2 weeks off........and we are in the middle of those 2 weeks off right now. I feel like several had vacations planned.

Congratulations, Middleton.......I listened to the game on the radio and it was very exciting. It was a great game between PHS and MHS. I, of course, was hoping for a different outcome, but I'm okay with the success of our Tidemen. Enjoy and celebrate your victorious season!

Oh, yeah I am loving it! .....but you know what? When he was being interviewed by our local radio station, it was mentioned that he got a nice "consolation prize" and he responded with, "it's not really a consolation prize, I'd rather had the gold ball, that's what I came here for." Which I thought was admirable and shows that he's not selfish. He was more concerned with the team winning, and not being Mr. Basketball. Believe it or not, he's very humble.

Isn't the voting done BEFORE the state tournament begins? And if that's the case, the state tournament play would have nothing to do with the outcome.

To the TIDEMEN: You guys are awesome and have played your hearts out over these past several weeks. You all are very blessed, don't forget that!
