  1. SHEW-WEE! Burgers from Wayne and Nancy's never disappoint. Heading to the field now
  2. Exactly. I don't pretend to know exactly what goes on because I'm not directly involved. What irks me is when others pretend they do.
  3. I participated in Grace athletics for years. What happened with those two players was obviously against TSSAA regulations. And I personally paid part of the price. My Senior volleyball season was taken from me in more ways than one. Not only were we banned from post season play (with a virtually guaranteed consecutive trip to the State tournament), but the administration from that time also was partly responsible for the loss of the best coach I've ever had, in any sport I've played. And I had a very poor experience with the next coach. All in all, it sucked. I think people forget that the majority of the school was not privy to what was going on, and we all suffered for the sins of the few. What happened was wrong. But please don't lump us all together. There are some of us who are just as angry about it as you.
  4. Same! I know my brother has a lot of respect for you and I've never met any of his Coach T buddies. He always disappears off somewhere like it's a super secret meeting or something
  5. Thanks pujo. Didn't mean to get up in arms, just a little raw still. Brings back memories of the other 2 we lost. The first one, two years ago, was a classmate of mine for many years and also was hit by a car. We really appreciate the thoughts and prayers from everyone. Now as to your quizzing. Perhaps I should be a bit more specific. While I have heard of Len and Otis, (more about Otis, he played for the Chiefs' right?), that's pretty much it. NFL history is not my strong suit. It's been going on a lot longer than I've been alive, afterall. When I say I follow the NFL, I mean more currently. I watch as many games as I can and try to keep up with records, injuries, coaches, and other such things, along with the players. Fun fact: Jason Witten is and has been my favorite football player ever since he was at UT. This is partly due to his skill and his character. He's a fine man on and off the field. I also like him as a tight end, because that is one of my favorite positions, and I believe tight ends are underutilized in all levels of the sport, middle/highschool on up into the pros.
  6. I know people think GCA athletics are corrupt, but we would NEVER capitalize on a tragedy like this just to attract athletes.
  7. Respectfully, Miles' parents requested to start the scholarship in his honor. It's not a scholarship to play football at the school. It's a scholarship to provide a kid the opportunity to go to a camp where he may not have had the chance before. I think it's a wonderful way to honor their son's memory. In the wake of their grief, I really don't think their intent is to try to "recruit" athletes to Grace.
  8. Wow. You sure do miss a lot on here if you don't check in every few hours. First of all, I'd like to apologize for Ramlady's language and immaturity. What a poor representation of a school whose principles are supposed to be founded in Christ. Second, I am super pumped for this game! Hampton has been a historically difficult game for Grace, and tomorrow night should be great one to watch. Our O-line has to play well for our running game to be successful. They've definitely improved over the season, and I hope they can get it done tomorrow. Sounds like a lot of the offense for both teams is gonna be on the ground rather than through the air. And as much as it pains me, I do have to say in Ramlady's defense that I, as a girl, follow the NFL and college (mostly SEC) football pretty faithfully. I don't claim to know everything about the game, but I have a pretty fair understanding for a girl. We may be few and far between, but we do exist.
  9. Seems to me they respond pretty well to honesty, respect, and a good sense of humor. Raven can be pretty contrary sometimes, and they seem to like him pretty well. I'll let my opinion be known and speak up if I think Grace is being unfairly represented, but I think we'll get along alright.

  11. I was hoping the name drop would get me some points
  12. Thanks! As Raven said, I've been toughened up by three brothers over the years. I've also been a silent reader of Coach T for quite awhile.
  13. Hi fellas (and Ramlady). I'm just going to go ahead and insert myself here. I'm Raven's sister, a football fanatic, and a proud GCA alum. I look forward to talking football with y'all.
