Isbell up 8-6 with :30 secs.....Isbell for some reason tried to throw Witt....straight to his own back....gave up 5 pts. Youngster mistake....but 1 more caution, he was giving up 2...would of been tied.

Not sure, but he immediately grabbed the shoulder that was injured last year.

There is a thread below this for D2.....might be able to throw out some predictions on there and get some conversation started . Good luck to the CAK boys....jumping up into some deep water this year.

I know in some smaller brackets, I’ve seen coaches forfeit big mismatches in the 1st rd vs #1 & #2 seeds, hoping to sneak out the back and make the consolation finals. Dont know in the case your talking about.

Thanks Bump....just hoping the boys wrestle their very best. I think Manuel/Smith in a quarters, or Cole in the semi’s are all more than capable of making the finals...heck, the Henry kid from HVA is strong and tough. Just needs to do his thing. You know what I know....anything can happen.

Won’t get into this one, as I have a pretty solid son in this bracket....but I think Pendley will beat the Millasouska kid and Cam on the bottom side t make the finals. Again, I’m partial, but this is a really good weight class....really good kids in the upper echelon, with very solid kids in the 7-15 range. Shoukd be a good one to watch.

I think that other than Chubb Kramer at heavy....Palmer is the next closest lock to win. Little Isbell was coming back, but Palmer won’t get 5-pointed again. I too, like a region 6 final.

Don’t sleep on Bryce...my son and Calvin are tight...Calvin has just been back for 8 matches.....he is the best in this bracket by a bit, in my opinion...when he is completely healthy and in great shape.....as for his health, he’s good to go...I just wonder about conditioning. I like the Pond/Martin winner by quite a bit over Horst....not to mention, a strong Fowler coming down from 132 to meet a young Horst coming up to 126 in a semifinal....that could be tough for the younger sensation....he handled the Nelson scenario just fine last year, though. All that said...Horst is nothing, If he isn’t a winner/champion! Since I’ve spent this entire comment telling you why he won’t win......I will cover my butt and say that I Would not be surprised if he finds a way to win again...that’s just what he does.

I like Luke Story vs Dooley in finals, but I think the winner comes from the Story/Pergande semi-final. Luke has been the best all season, but Alex has looked great since back from the knee fix. Obviously...another rough bracket set up.....all the guys that I like to win are up top....except Dooley and Burns, of course. Story and a Porter in rd of 16, then Story/Porter and Whiteside....if Luke or Porter win it, they’ll have darn sure earned it.

Yes sir. With Gibbs dropping the small school....and TSSAA shuffling Bearden, Farragut, Knox Catholic, and Hardin Valley to Region 3...made no sense....it definitely effected our new region. 2nd big change in 4 years. TSSAA tinkering with things is a problem, for sure.

Agree completely....Halls has been a top 10 team for many years, no matter what. Kiddie pool...maybe....but send whAtever 5th, 6th place kids you want....they still won’t snifff a medal...agreed?

Unfortunately, Region 2 and 8 are the way they are because of this recent years reshuffle.

Region 1 had really good 145 bracket, as well.... In fact, I would argue that Region 1 And 4 had the the top 6 145s between them.

Wouldn’t be shocked if 2 from that crappy Region 2 make the finals, would you? TSSAA needs to adjust...is that what your saying? Let me say...i’m A region 2 dad...not dissing them. We hated it, as well.

Wilson was 2nd, so unseeded. Just opposite side of Matthews placement. James finished 3rd. Thus, first round 2 v 3, from different regions. it is the same in every bracket, just happened to be two former medalists here. They should seed all region winners and place them....then, separate the second placers, as they must go into the opposite from their region winner. Seed the four 2nd placers in each 1/2 the bracket, and place them. Same 3 and 4. iI guess that would take too long, huh?

You have to win your region this year.. and placed in previous years....if you don’t win, no matter your resume...blind draw

Only Teaster won his region...other three get no seeding preference, at all...just blind draw. This is the way TSSAA likes it, I guess. Any idea why Wilson forfeited to Matthews?

Wouldn’t doubt that, at all....... Given that, would it really matter if that 3rd or 4th place kid only had to beat 1 kid to make it to state? I would guess, not. We should look back at the region results and see if we can come up with the 3rd and 4th place kids that you speak of, what do you think?

That is true...and I do get his point. Another colossal mess...but courtesy, 100% of the TSSAA region placements. heck, the boys can only wrestle what’s in front of them.
