Now that I live in Fountian City I have had the chance to see both teams in action. (Fulton and Central) RecentlyI watched Fulton play Jefferson County in a scrimmage and they appeared very tough. They didn't look like the flashy team that scored every other play from a few years ago but they looked very solid. Number 6 is a monster and even called out Jefferson Co on defense screaming they were running the same play again and challenged them to stop him. Well...they didn't! And Central as well looked a lot like last year I was told...only bigger. In my opinion though Fulton is still more athletic and the speed they have should prevail in the end. I expect a close game like last year though.

I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic but if not...true! But doesn't Fulton have the Malone kid? Isn't he rated one of the top 10 rising sophomores in the country and a Freshman All American? Still seams like something ain't right.

I'm full of good rumors this morning....but I was told that Austin East will be getting some players this fall? They "chose" AE over Fulton? I found that hard to believe...if true, what in the world would they be thinking doing that? I was told they are lineman...and this is apparently the year to go to Fulton if you want to play early as a lineman. Something don't smell right here.

I'm hearing the Head Coach is thinking of moving on after this season? Just one of the "rumors" that floated around breakfast at Shoney's this morning on Broadway. Any truth to that? This man said an assistant is already slated to take his place.

I actually stopped and watch a practice...don't get to much...and they have some good sized lineman. #65 is really big as well as #53! The problem I saw was after the 1st five the backups didn't look the same. These coaches know what they are doing though. If they didn't they would not have all those state championships and a few more runner ups.

I was just talking to a old fella while eating breakfast that the only applications they have received thus far are from old retired ex-coaches and a bunch of "youth" coaches with no middle or high school experience. There must be a way that they can petition the TSSAA to possibly play down in 1A football. Even if it means being denied the playoffs. It's a big county and enrollment is high I know but this is a case the TSSAA needs to look at and make an exception even if it penalizes the school. Let's face it, they wouldn't win more than 3 or 4 if they played in 1A either but at least they might win a couple. What's everyone think about that?

I have talked to an old buddy that watched them Falcons practice yesterday. He said that QB looks real sharp and the Dobson kid is looking real good. Also they have a RB he said he hasn't seen before that was running hard. Possible good things for these boys in maroon.

Drove by the school and saw that the field was being dug up. I didn't know they were putting those new fields in so quickly. I can't wait to see the finished product.

I agree with you IrishBball...sources close to Fulton tell me that their biggest concern is offensive line. I'm told they will be ok as far as starters are concerned but depth might play a role in their success. They have a ton of skill players that I can think of that are coming back. None on the Rodgers kid's level but a lot of them are pretty close. Their QB is turning almost every college in the countries heads and I believe two or three media outlets named him a freshman All-American. If he can get protection I believe just like last year the winner of the Fulton/Catholic game will be your state champion. This Fulton team is going to be a blue collar team I believe and getting down and dirty and being tough for 4 quarters will be their key.

Fulton Football 2016. Loaded with athletes again. QB is already a top prospect and a sophomore. I say 1 or 2 losses possibly but they return to Cookeville.
