  1. Congratulations to cchs on an unbelievable effort under incredibly difficult playing conditions. I was at that game. Cchs was down by 10 in the third. Made a little run at the end of three to cut it to 6. Then the officials took over. Cchs was whistled for more than twice as many fouls as Riverdale. With the game still close, cchs was called for a technical because the coach asked how a player rebounding a ball fouled the player riding her back. But 5 minutes later after a foul call on his player, the Riverdale coach yelled an obscenity at the ref loud enough that I clearly heard what he said, with no response from an official. That game should be an embarrassment to the tssaa for the quality of officiating at a game this late in the year. And as a final classless act, riverdales coach called time out with 9 seconds left in the game. As far as 7aaa being so strong, I have no doubt cchs or Bradley on a level playing field can play with any of them. And to "summit", maybe you should watch some of the games you comment on, instead of disrespecting a team because they beat you twice this year. I've seen several of the games you've commented on this year, and it's obvious you weren't there, and if you were , you are delusional.
  2. I believe that's a couple games farther than either white county team. Just an observation
  3. You have two different styles of basketball in the two regions. Region 3 is more fundamental. They're patient on offense and play good defense. Both teams can shoot from all over the floor. Region 4 is more physical. They lean on you on defense and play inside more on offense. The big girls put a shoulder into the defense to clear a path to the basket. Depending on where your officials are from will make a big difference. If they let them play physical, 4 has the advantage. If they call it tight, I think it's 3.
  4. You named one player. The others are guesses. Oakland and Blackman aren't playing.
  5. So you have only seen two of those teams play, and one of them only once at Blackman. how can you pick winners , if you don't know what all the teams have?
  6. Tell us the names of the players for Riverdale and Stewart creek who are d1
  7. I was actually asking play4fun. He seems to be the expert on the 4 teams. Just wanted to hear his thoughts on why bradley and cchs are so weak and why Riverdale and Stewart creek are so strong
  8. I'm just curious, how many of the 4 teams have you actually seen play this year?
  9. I ll be at state tournament, so I'll see your team if they make it. Thanks for the invite.
  10. That rule does not specify what is a violation, it just says that a school can't try to persuade a player to come play there. It doesn't define what is recruitment or what is not. It open to interpretation. All I'm saying is make the rules clear. State what is a violation so everyone knows. It's not that hard. Why would my opinion not be honest? I've never been to elizabethton, and I'm just pointing out that the rules are not clear and need to be clarified
  11. That rule is so vague that a coach shooting baskets in the back yard with his niece, saying hello at Walmart, or an 8th grader watching a high school game can be a violation. Depending on who is involved or who reports it. Make the rules black and white and enforce them. What I understand about this incident, the girl was just shooting around with some girls and left when the coach came in.
  12. I've been reading this argument, and even though I live 200 miles from EHS and have no children in school anymore, I thought I would throw my unwanted 2 cents worth into the fray. First off, this infraction is minor. Second, the tssaa rules are so vague and broad that any coach can violate a rule at any time. If you want to stop coaches and players from violations on "recruiting", then petition the tssaa for these three things. 1. No high school coaches can participate in aau ball. Period. 2. Hard zone everyone and enforce it. Period. 3 make the punishment for either of these violations a lifetime ban for coaches, athletic directors, and the player involved. Period. Everybody thinks twice before they cross the line, and only the guilty pay.
  13. I didn't say you did. I asked how many were on the floor
  14. Again, rubbing somebody the wrong way or being liked, is not a criteria for coach of the year. If you want somebody who doesn't rub you the wrong way, go watch games at the ymca, where they don't keep score and everybody gets a trophy.
  15. I ll say it again. If you and the other coaches believe " coach of the year" shouldn't be decided by success on the floor, and you can't bring yourself to vote for a coach that beats you, then change the name of the award to " the least likely to hurt somebody's feelings award" and give it to your buddy.
  16. Do you think that if Cookeville or white co had won that game, that either of their coaches would have just taken a seat and not acknowledged their fans or celebrated? I've seen every team in the district play at least twice this year, boys and girls, and they all celebrate a win. If people don't want her cheering with her team and fans then beat her and her team. Not voting for someone who is deserving, shows less class than celebrating a win with your fans.
  17. I think I addressed that already and so did you. 19-1 last two years in the district. People don't like you when you beat them. The only show of classlessness I saw in the finals came when Cookeville coach and bench gave no applause when cchs received their trophy. And besides its " COACH of the year" not "miss congeniality". If it's a popularity contest, then change the name of the award. She's 5-0 this year against the two coaches who won. How could anybody not have voted for her? If I had a child playing, I wouldn't let them play for either of the two who won. And I would bet that not one of the girls who play for her would either
