Absolutely one of the worst decisions I have seen to first put our QB who is already a back up on defense, then put in a freshmen QB and decides to throw with it

And of course our QB goes down while playing defense. And people questioned me why I said they shouldn’t risk it

This is a pointless discussion. There is nothing anybody from CA could do to convince anyone outside of CA to believe us. We CA fans that have children on the teams and have been here for years, through the good and the bad, know that we have done it the right way and not recruited. Next year in D2 will likely be a different story.

No when I said we don’t recruit so heavily I said it like “we defend the point that we don’t recruit so much” like we defend the fact that we don’t do it so much.

It’s not arrogance. It’s pride. CA was bad at football throughout the entirety of it being a sport at CA aside from a few average years. Most every private school does recruit now adays, but we pride ourselves on the fact that we have finally got something going in our football program and have done it the right way. That’s why we defend the fact that we don’t recruit so heavily, because many of us went through years and years of disappointment in production On the field and now we finally have success.

I don’t think we’d have 7 to 10 state championships but we’d definitely have at least a couple. People see how successful we’ve been the past few years and their way of justifying it is that we cheat to do it instead of accepting the fact that we’ve just been better than than the majority of the teams who accuse us of recruiting. 2013 was our first pretty successful year in football for a while. 2011 was an ok year, but 2012 and practically every year before that we were terrible. 2013 Charlie Lansdell becomes head coach of CA and we start being good. The same players that had gone 5-6 in 2012 were back minus a few seniors in 2013 when they went 10-2. And the next year they lost a few more seniors but the only other new players were players that were freshmen. The reason we’ve been successful was because of the coaching change.
