  1. I am physically at my office today. "That's about all I have to say about that". 8th grade starts tonight, too.... so there is very little being accomplished.
  2. Big and strong -- he seems to fit in well with the offensive tactics at UC. MF will have to work to make sure those big holes aren't opened in our D-line for that bread-and-butter play (keeper).
  3. 55 is a mystery... an enigma... we may never know who he is or what he really means. He IS a great public servant, though! fallguy you may be right with that comment!
  4. Whatever you want to call the UC offense, we are aware of it and can defend it. Even if UC keeps the MF offense off the field most of the time, that's all they need to score. Pass defense will be Key for UC. Oh, and pay no attention to those RB's. Nothing to see there. So, we meeting at Hops & Barley? Swo, you've met 55 in person huh? Ha! He's a good guy... and 55 is good at the game.
  5. Welcome, TReb!... from a huge Mayfield Cardinals fan!
  6. Mayfield is scrimmaging Madisonville and Henderson Co. Want some numbers? 3 full strings of receivers and 5 legit RB's.
  7. I noticed a UC fan came on to the KY preps board and was going on about the Tornadoes incorporating a much more pass oriented offense. I smell a rat... Swo, I love this back-and-forth, too. Makes the anticipation of a game like this just that much better!!!
  8. We were at our 8th grade jamboree Saturday (at McCracken) and some of the same sentiment was there about the UC v Mayfield game... it's never going to get here!! Had a couple injuries in the 8th at the event so be careful. Hope all can get there on the 18th uninjured and finish that way as well. We did have a good jamboree showing though. Beat McCracken so that's always good.
  9. My friend 55. Northwest is where UC is. It was interesting to look at the stories on that last game in '88. UC threw 8 passes which may be around what they do in a game now? Swo it sounds like your guys are coming around nicely and things are clicking. I hope all are healthy and able to play on the 18th.
  10. This year's team is more senior-heavy than last year's. Plus, we may be playing DeSales instead of CAL. We do have plenty of seniors and they produce results. Can't wait until the opener!
  11. I wish you could help facilitate because, like you said way back in this thread, that was a heck of a game! I do think the respective coaches have been talking.
  12. We're here speculating on what we know about our respective teams and I think the "numbers only" comparisons are interesting, too. I just look at it as more info. Hey BigSwo, I wanted to ask you if you have any influence with the current 8th grade team because we have been trying to set something up to play them this season. Also, the messages tab is at the top of the page.
  13. Same website says 2010 Mayfield loses to 2014 UC 34 to 24. That Mayfield team rolled easily through every game and is considered one of the best so 2014 UC... wow! This is the only one on which I mixed the years. 2014 is the only year MHS loses over the last 6 according to unnamed website. Interesting.
  14. SWO I sent you a direct message on this site.
  15. unapproved website says Mayfield wins this 35 to 28 but that's on a neutral field. So there's another reason to expect a great game.
  16. I say Hops & Barley at 5:00! Love for the MHS and UC faithful to get to know one another and help get this rivalry going the right way!
  17. http://mycn2.com/spectrum-sports/hs-football-kickoff-kentucky-featuring-mayfield Now y'alls turn.
  18. I agree with you completely! Just trying to get any feel I can for the opener! Milan always seems to be tough. Wonder why they don't play UC?
  19. We didn't scrimmage this year. When was this jamboree? I know last year Dresden rolled everybody.
  20. I'd like to point out that I've said nothing bad about the boys on the UC team. No sense doing that. I'm certainly glad we don't play push-over teams early in the season this year... they seem like a waste of time - or glorified practice, at best. I'd rather take an "L" from a good game than win a pointless one. But, that's me. No, I don't predict an early "L" for the RED AND BLACK. Seeing all the "chest beating" going on here from the UC fans (and Mayfield fans) remind me that I just watched Kong with my kids. Big, impressive animal there. Except for one thing: it's GCI. Just like the bloviating here, right? The kids will dictate the outcome. The coaches will help. I have come up with a possible measuring stick: we have scrimmaged Milan for the last several years and do very well in that. When is the last time UC played them? Thoughts?
