There won’t be as many fans but a semi final game always brings other local represented school out. Maybe some folk up near Knoxville will venture down to see the pirate squad play.

Why does everyone think SP won’t blow us out tonight?

They beat Clay 58-0 last week. 2 weeks we got lucky to beat Clay in double OT.

So tell me why the predictions aren’t skewed big time to SP? I’m a Gordonsville homer and have seen a lot of really good football teams at Gordonsville and this team is a slightly above average team. Nothing more.

Our team in 2021 was better than this years squad and we went to SP and lost 44-14.
 

Maybe I’m too critical because I’ve seen so many Gordonsville teams but I just don’t see us keeping this one close. I hope I’m wrong.

 

Historically the games haven’t been blow outs. That is pretty much what I’m going off of.

I look for the Pirates to come out firing on all cylinders tonight and take control early in this one. Gordonsville will punch back but will not have enough to overcome what the Pirates will bring at them. Best of luck to both teams for an injury free game. Hopefully emotions will be in check and sportsmanship will be displayed.

#1. The big recruit is the slowest defender on our defense.
#2. He isn’t a pass rusher 
#3. SP should be able to rush the passer all night. 
#4. Gordy beat Clay & Chatt Prep by a combined 2 points.  (So unless Gordy purposely made these game close then I’m not quite sure how this game isn’t a multiple score win for SP.)

To be fair Gordy played smith county to a 6 point game which is in the 2a quarterfinals for a reason. I don’t think we win by a land slide but we should win.

Exactly my point. I’d be curious what the point differential would be when looking at each teams margin of victory against one another.

These games are never lobsided I expect this game to go a good one just as the others. Everyone sleeping on Gordy but know dang well they not taping out early

well, since you brought it up…SP has not faced a team with great athletes all year…I do think they find it easy sledding to Chatt…I do think Chatt will be very difficult up front especially but a test for the defense as well. Time will tell. One week at a time.

Yes we haven’t played anyone athletically to match us. That’s what I’m afraid of.
