I don't believe I would do that. Chances of beating Hunt are slim anyway. Save him for the next game for the #2 spot. Use him monday and you won't have him the next day should you lose. Clarksburg is setting in good shape to advance past the district for the 2nd consecutive year. Good luck guys! Keep playing hard! I wish I could get by to watch a game but there has been no way.

He is doing fine. Thanks for asking. Playing JV and they have him practicing in left field. Weather has messed their games up a lot though. No pitching just left field and DH. Main thing is the grades are pretty good.

They were not happy at all last year when Clarksburg beat them.

Luke pitched his sophomore year and did pretty good. Had a pretty good curve ball. Is E-man playing this time? Who is the district favorite this year? I don't know who has what coming back honestly. I know you guys could always beat anyone.

Was curious about yalls new coach. What type of offense do you run? I know the last two years yall ran a lot of picks trying to get someone open and where very patient with the ball. I thought yall would probably have a shot at winning the district this year. I don't remember what west carroll lost, I know big sandy lost a lot, and clarksburg has no depth and from what I hear have not played well together up to this point. Same problem plagued us last year.

Yes unemployment is high but I dont think that is it. We had unemployment in the 70's and early 80's and people came out in droves. 5000 was not hard to do then. That's probably one of many reasons. A lot of kids that would have used to gone to Lexington now go to Scotts Hill, the Jackson privates, and the others. Plus, I heard over the weekend Henderson Co. unemployment was 18%. I had no idea it was that high. There were probably people who wanted to be there who legitimately couldn't afford it. I'm sure there are others too.

I doubt it. Didn't even fill the home side last week. Football has lost some of its luster since the days when Lex was good every year. I can't explain it it just does not captivate the community as it once did. Could be the politics that have just eroded it over time?

Don't tell me you use cowbells? What is it with mid tn and cowbells? I have seen them from several teams and different events, even baseball games. With the facilities you guys have you dont need cowbells to be loud. Just one of my little pet peeves I have. I don't like cowbells at little league/junior high/high school games. Although a football game is a better environment for them though. To each his own.

Just saw some photos of Giles County's football facility. Very very nice. You guys should be proud of it. Heres to a good game with plenty of sportsmanship and no serious injuries.

The one pass I remember on the visitors side that people from Page wanted a PI call on was a jump ball that the db got to and knocked down. There was contact but only because they were both going for the ball. He did not run thru the receiver. I saw two late hits called that should not have been. One on the Page side and one on the Lex side. I saw holding not called on both teams. I did not notice the clock issue. From where I sat the teams where pretty even except Lex played a little more physical style of FB. That was the difference in the game IMHO. I think Lex left some points on the field by not running enough misdirection. Yall were sucking in so bad to stop the fb that you were wide open for reverses and stuff like that. Personally I would have ran enough of those to keep the backside from crashing down so much on the inside runs, but I am not the coach. Honestly, I cant say it was every ref. It was definately the sideline judge on the Page side of the field...that guy should never be allowed to call another game again. First off the PLAYCLOCK. never in my 15+ years of going to football games have I seen such a terrible display of playclock opperation. When Page had the ball, the clock would continue to run even after incomplete passes. The refs conveniently didnt notice it until there was just under 3 minutes left in the game. There was easily over a minute of the game that was lost due to this. There was a HUGE blown pass interference call that was comitted on #16 in the 3rd qtr that would have put Page in a great spot, the defender clearly had his arms around him before the ball got there. Big facemask on our TB during the last drive that went uncalled. And the WR pass "bounce pass" play that wasnt blown dead until the ball was caught in the endzone. If it had been an incomplete forward pass, why did it take so long for someone to blow a whistle?? The teams were pretty evenly matched, im just saying that its an injustice to see a playoff game flushed down the toilet by the officials. All of the plays I mentioned happened right in front of this official....turrable just turrable...

What did the refs miss? I know I saw a couple of things, but what did you see that was so blatant?

Don't know anything about Giles. I did watch the Lex-Page game. Neither team impressed me. If DL was a typical DL team and Giles beat them, they should have no trouble in this game. This Lex team is not as good as they have had. They have some heart and two big backs, but are not strong enough up front IMHO. I wish them well as I know a lot of the boys on the team but I just don't see it. How big is Giles up front on both sides?

Page played the run up the middle well. Their spread offense had Lex back on their heels to start the game. Result Page took and early 7-0 lead in the 1st. Lex bounced back and answered with some passing mixed in, 7-7 at the half. Page again takes the lead on a quick drive 14-7. Lex answered with a good methodical drive 14-14. Teams traded punts and eventually Page was at about their 30 in the 4th and threw a pick which was returned to around the 20. Lex punched it in , 21-14. Page answers with a nice methodical drive into the redzone............come up short on 4th down with a min to go. Lex won 21-14. Both teams played hard, lots of mistakes on both sides. I thought Lex could have ran more reverses for big gains as Page was selling out to stop the middle. Back side contain was not there especially when Lex put 2 men wide to the other side. Page had a nice little gadget play that I think was too slick for the refs. I could not tell if it was a backwards pass or not from my angle but if it was the refs cost Page a TD. I wonder if that ball was supposed to hit the ground or not? Well played from a sportsmanship angle anyway.

This has to be the most stupid thread I have ever seen. One side talks smack and then gets upset when the other side does it too. Both sets of fans believe in and hope for their team to win. It will be settled Fri night. I may go watch this one. Never watched Page before.
