You have to understand a couple of things about the Humboldt game. First we had just come back from SC where we lost Scribner for the season. Not only was he our QB but he wad a great defender. Second, we had several kids get sick and were unable to practice. Because of that they were weak and couldn't play at their best. So early in the game they were sitting on the bench taking in fluids. We were very lucky to come out of that game with a win. In fact we should have lost. Since then we have been banged up and have lost more of our starters. The fortunate thing is that we have had enough time to get these new guys some playing time at new positions. We will be fine come Friday night.

 

I heard about all of that and I'm not doubting union city will come with a good plan. I got one more question what about against Trenton this year how many yards of offense did they have against you guys ?

I hope union city has a better defensive plan than they did against humboldt. If they don't I honestly think it could get ugly. Dresdens defense has improved since last year I don't see union city busting any big plays after losing scribner and bumpus

Union city would have lost to NCS just like Peabody. It might have been closer for union city. Peabody played bad

The word on here is that Trezevant's enrollment will have them playing in 3A next year.

If you don't know who Alcoa is then you don't know much about Tennessee high school football. I believe they have won around 14 or 15 gold balls

Ncs had like 5 d1 recruits. You don't just luckily have that many recruits on a team in a school that like 250 students

Maybe the grades were changed on players who haven't played

The tide doesn't have a quarterback who can run and the backs they are using are a sophomore and freshman. The union city game in my opinion was a winnable game minus are the fumbling. If you have the ball on one yard line and can't score off a running play that has nothing to do with coaching. The tide had 3 or 4 players on offense and defense that ran 4.5 40 yard dashes they don't have that now and have to play acoordingly. I don't think mind boggle knows anything about football

We'll have two weeks to get ready for UC. I think I recall one year we had a scrimmage against another team on our bye week. But I could be mistaken. I do that ya know.. make mistakes.. a lot. But shhhh, don't tell nobody. I have a reputation ya know. Ha!

Really? Are you that arrogant to think you know everything?... TRUTH is our team DID look past Peabody last year & wrongly assumed we would again beat y'all like we did in regular season. Our players and staff have gone on public record saying they did this. For you to try and counter that and say they didn't & doubt it is in essence calling dozens of people liars. STOP IT! STOP IT NOW! You ARE WRONG period! ... Dresden players & parents & others said they did... But yet right now you (in your self-assumed arrogant superiority of knowing others thoughts & words that were said last year) say otherwise... THIS MAKES ME SICK!... And personally I say you owe "the Dresden people" (as you called us) a huge apology. My prediction is you will double down on your sickening comments and keep up this kind of talk/posting and you are not man enough & mature enough to admit your mistake and apologize. Your comments about last year is sickening. And you are one million percent WRONG! But Dresden said what we needed to say on tonight's scoreboard and on the field of play. Dresden 41. Peabody 0. And yes we are now & forevermore (thanks to Golden Tide's amazing run last year & y'all spanking us AND mighty UC too! Awesome job!) totally aware that y'all (or anyone else) could come back in the playoffs and whoop us all the way back to the loser's corner. We won't overlook nor underestimate any team nor any playmakers. One player CAN and DOES make a difference as your QB proved last year. No matter what you say or think this is all 100% pure truth. Deal with it. .... As for tonight's game it didn't seem like a lopsided win to me. I guess it's because out of respect to Trenton's capabilities I kept expecting an explosion & momentum swing. But tonight all the breaks went our Lion's way and the ball bounced in our favor. Our running backs were incredible and our D bent but never broke & did another shutout against a fine team. So the question of "is Dresden that good? Or is it just bad opponents?" .. this seems to have been somewhat answered tonight because Golden Tide ain't no pushover. Yet we have a long way to go with lots of areas to work on (especially discipline & penalties! That may be our demise yet!), but Lions still find a way to win. And imo this is not an aberration nor a one or two year run. I think this will continue for awhile. Hope this winning ways lasts a looooong time. GO LIONS! Proud of you warriors!

This thread is awfully quiet for such a big, important game. Where is everybody? Camping out Nascar-style in a tent-city around the stadium? Doing tailgate parties and getting there early for a good seat?

Dang what happen to bumpus and the offensive lineman ? I'm assuming scribner hurt his knee ?

I don't have any affiliation with Trenton but I'm guessing since Winn threw several interceptions against union city and Trenton last year I'm betting the plan is to rush him. I don't think any of the others teams have rushed him the way Trenton or union city will.
