O-Dub who is coming out of Region 8? One would assume Arlington and Bartlett right? Anyone else to keep an eye out for tomorrow night?

Arlington and Bartlett will be your Region 8 reps.  Look for both to capture a few wins in Franklin and as much as many want to say no, Arlington could earn a plaque. 

I say that on appeal, it appears the verdict might have been overturned. It appears Tennessee might have been holding something back as they only lost 2 of the contested matches this time, pretty impressive. I guess we'll have a clear understanding next weekend of the full picture of the state.

Artus, do we get a new poll on Monday prior to States? The top 16 will be set, but I imagine you guys will throw SD in there for shirts and giggles.

Coach Peck left Ravenwood and is now at Nolensville.

I don't know Flynn but sounds like he's going to be fun to watch. And kudos to him for choosing to take the hard road in AAA rather than the A/AA route. If he wins 4 AAA then he will be among the highest level kids in Tennessee.

Speaking of sleeping, Halls is the big sleeper in the AAA bunch.  No one is talking about them but Sayne has them ready, they will make a deep run at States.  Much better than an HM team. 

I believe McCallie held back a little bit against Ryan trying to make sure they were full strength for the big show vs cross town rival Baylor this weekend. The Blue Tornado is still my favorite in D2. Followed by the Brothers from Memphis.

You're dreaming D2!  Ha  The Bros are a clear D2 favorite here.

Ok Artus, I see you trying to pretend to take the high road here, but here's the thing, you come on to make your pointed post at me almost immediately following the match where Arlington lost.

I suggest if you have such a disdain for Hamm's rankings that you make the effort to put together some of your own. Wilson and Beech are two top 6-8 teams and other than those two, who from middle Tennessee has Pin-TN "unfairly" listed in the rankings?

our man OW may not surface for some time.  He knew he was fighting windmills but he continued anyway to beat a drum that only he could hear. 

Don't get too excited there Artus & Tex. Tournament champion and a 3rd place.  How is that a failure and what drum is it I'm beating that no one is hearing???  CBHS took home the gold!  As a matter of fact I think that makes 2 times The Bros have put it on your boys. 

As for the Arlington match, I'll give you that one, SH had a good match vs an Arlington team that was missing one of their best wrestlers, Cannon, who is state ranked and recently walked through the GP with 4 pins and a major.  I didn't hear our coaches make any excuses but having someone of his caliber out of the lineup most certainly tied their hands a bit.  So now we are 1-1 against Science Hill.  Maybe we will meet again at the State Duals and settle this. 

So if you want to go all literary let me join:  Failure is not a single, cataclysmic event. You don't fail overnight. Instead, failure is a few errors in judgement, repeated every day.  One "event" does not determine this team's season.  You won't see Arlington team crying in their coffee this morning, in fact, I know a few who are back at work already.  So I'm glad you take pride in thinking that I/we failed, but we only use this as fuel to ramp up for the post season. 

Soddy Daisy, 3rd best team in the State?

I think what dachamp means is that neither team will be bumping kids all over the place and playing strategy. Even if Soddy wins this one Cleveland is numer 1 seed in region and Soddy would be two and Bradleh 3 so they wrestle again next week to decide who wrestles against Cleveland so really tonight means nothing but bragging rights.

Oh ok, makes sense now. Just so I'm clear, you're saying BC don't care if they win anymore just bc they dropped 2 matches by a point to Cleveland. And Soddy, they know they can't make state duals based on the Coacht discussions, so they also don't care. Is that right?

Just seems like based on that rationale they just forfeit it out and don't make the boys have to make weight.

Both teams may not even give it 100% knowing they have got to wrestle next week. The one that counts. Last match under the lights this year. Such a depressing day!

That's such a cop out statement!  Both teams may not give it 100%??  I guarantee you whichever kid steps on the mat for each team will give 100%. 

So what does DaChamps pre match speech sound like:  "Ok guys, listen up, tonight were going to go in there and give approximately 65%.  We just need enough to get through this so we can then get to Region Duals and forfeit out because we really don't want to show our hand.  You guys got that?  I don't want to see any of you trying to step up and be a hero and pushing out 70% effort.  We're here to give minimal effort.  Ok TJ, McElhaney, you guys just stay on the bus.  I can't take any chances on you getting out of hand and like pinning someone or something.  Headrick, none of those crazy high scoring throws tonight!  You understand guys, we're going in here tonight to underwhelm!  Got it ok ready?  Everyone in, Dial it back on 3. 1---2---3!"

Yeah, it was a great match with questionable calls on  both sides and several matches that could be flipped both ways next time, but everybody needs to remember one thing.

 

We compromise the beauty of what happened last night if we make excuses. 

 

And KG is right. If we are on the wrong end of the score next week, there won't be any excuses coming from our camp. Just respect. 

Artus it seems you have some highly opinionated coaches up there.  Are your boys ready to come to Memphis this weekend and back up that talk? 

I'm curious how they will run the pools.  Top 3 to Championship pool?  I hope not because I believe Summit is a great match up for Arlington and Science Hill.  I'd hate to see them not make the Championship pool because they won't get past The Bros. 

My goodness, I think I might have just sounded like some of those guys from Chatt talking about Soddy being top 3 even though they're not going to make it.  Ok, ok.  Sorry Summit but you are not top 3 in this tournament.

I hope that's not correct. Looks like Pool B is over weighted move one of the ranked teams to Arlington pool.

Soddy finished behind Arlington at GP West makes sense that they are closer together. WC finished behind Science Hill at Richardson, makes sense theyou drop closer.

Not sure Wilson is as low as 9th or Soddy is as high as 7th. Also, I'm trying to buy into Bumps optimism on Tennessee, it appears the pollsters have. Curious to see how that plays out.
