  1. Oakridge is good for East TN. They can't play with Riverdale on a bad day, sorry, This Riverdale team is for real this year.
  2. Bad way to look at it...bull crap...if a top team is eliminated in an early round of the tourney, they were either over rated or got bad luck in the draw.. Simple....The blind draw is an easy way out for the TSSAA. The number one teams are not always "number one" compared to the state. Just to the crappy schedule they have. The luck of the draw will get you to the finals...ask any coach whose been there....they'll all say we dodged a bullet when .....BLA BLA ... happened. so don't call me bitter. I'm just honest and it hurts folks feelings. That's what a forum is for. Go Trump.
  3. Give the gold ball to Riverdale please. No one in the state can play with them. Bradley is good, they beat a young Stone Memorial team on a last second shot. Cumberland County ranked 3rd in the Coacht poll...are you kidding me? I don't think they have the fundamentals to get out of the region. These so called "county elementary schools" that put banners in their gym for winning a AAU tournaments are hurting the players, giving them false expectations of what the high school level is like. You have to guard, you have to listen to your coach, not momma, you have to play as a team player. You won't be spoon fed basketball, you will be given a lot of good coaching that should make you want to become better, But if your parents can buy bleachers for a college gym (boys thing here) to get their child a chance to play on an NAIA team. They'll end up in school a TTU playing in the school league. I hate what it's all become, there is no pride in these kids anymore, it's all about "ME" and what are you going to do for me. NOTHING>.get your butt to work and become a better player. Learn quickly and grow up.
  4. Why have a top ten...Only eight make it to the glass house...AND why put teams in there that you know will not have a chance in making it to the boro? three teams from one region won't get in...that's the way it's set up..It's not right..some teams can't compete with the top three while other teams sit home that could possibly win it all. But the freaking TSSAA is outdated, why do high schools allow them to control the high school sports. Form their own organization with QUALIFIED people who can organize these playoffs. We don't need TSSAA, money making buttholes, HIGH SHOOLS get on board, form your own organization. Make your own playoffs. Get the "REAL" champion each year, not one that got the luck of the draw, which is a joke.
  5. Target on your back??? If you cant stand the heat...get out the kitchen. I think a team from Greenville will have something to say about either CLK or PC winning the state. They are tough, well-balanced, skilled players. Fundamentally they are better than PC or CLK.
  6. It's the district record that counts...duh... when they loose at Clarkrange, they (PC) will drop to 2nd in the district and won't be #1 in the state....Buck is a streak shooter. If I was a coach, I would not guard her. Pritchett is their go to player........
  7. LA subbed too much. You can't throw off your teams rhythm against a team like PC. PC is always in attack mode on both ends of the court. They also have a short memory after a mistake is made, where on the other hand, LA players were getting jerked out of the game when they made a mistake.
  8. you gonna loose one of these games. LA or Jackson! and btw do you not know the history of the drama with players and coaches at PC. Don't get me started. Been around a lot longer than you i'm sure. Cheating, scandal relationships, divorces, etc.....You can't erase that past. I strive on the good ole days where the game mattered to the players. Now it's parents, who mostly don't have a clue, because it's all about their daughter or son. Playing on a Division III AAU team is like scrimmaging a group of gym rats at open gym. Don't start saying, "it's not a district game," that's what I'm talking about right there. Where is the heart in beating LA, like a drum, they are a rivalry, but it don't matter, they are not a district game....to the fans it does, always will. . . . . Bet on that.
  9. Class A - Pickett County Class AA - Upperman Class AAA - Riverdale Jr. College
  10. Well. District games begin now. Who can survive, bad officiating, home court cooking, un-educated parents about how their kid could be successful. All the out of shape, drug addicted, alcoholic abusing kids on these teams in the Upper Cumberland. NOT ALL, but this does exist and school systems allow kids who get caught with an illegal substance to return to the team. What about those juveniles in jail. Someone give them a second chance, ooooops. they don't have the money to hire / pay off / judges...and lawyers... Such a Joke. What have you won really, what are you teaching your child. MAKES ME SICK.
  11. Seriously...you think CCHS has a chance tonight at Clarkrange, I've got some ocean front property in FFG to sell you.
  12. One of their better players in years, Middleton, stinks at UT....she should have went to a smaller school.
  13. Whatever....they recruit all the time...however........Karma comes back to ya!
  14. Look for the Lady Buffs. to pull out a can of WHIP A**. Lady Buffs win big. Exploit Lady Jets weaknesses.....themselves...
  15. Well you actually agreed with me. However, as quoting Adolph Rupp "you can't make thoroughbreds out of bunch of jackasses. Sorry the truth hurts, but these teams today are so spoiled. Along with their parents, some who have no clue what playing with "heart" really means. High school recruiting, students going to schools out of their zone, all because of what????? Adult influence somewhere.......just saying.
  16. On this day after New Years...girls hoops are on my mind. I want to go in March and watch some local teams from the Upper Cumberland via for a state title. However, the statewide talent has caught them. More access to good AAU teams, socioeconomics of households which creates the inability for rural teams to keep unless the HARD work is put in. They don't wear the grass out underneath the goals anymore. They won't practice hard unless it's an air-conditioned gym in the summer time. This brings failure in the winter time. I've seen Clarkrange, Pickett, Stone, Livingston, Upperman, Macon, Clay, Cumberland girls all play. Kinda disappointed to say the least. Not in the coaching, but the effort from the players just is not there like it used to be. Sorry.
  17. Enjoy it while it lasts....season begins now....sling shots are for birds...LOL.
  18. This game looked like walking into the gym during a P. E. class where the kids were divided up and told to play....GEEZZZZZZZZZ.....AWFUL
  19. Going into district play, I see Pickett county and Clarkrange battling for the home Sectional game in the Regional Finals.. The other region is weak. AA Upperman, best coached team by far. They'll be in Murfreesboro. AAA Stone Memorial will battle Bradley in the Regional Finals for a sectional home game also. Any other Fans out there have an opinion?
