Now this reminds me of 16 year old Batman when I had a 396 Chevelle.I passed a car on highway 70 out of Greeneville and was going to turn around before he topped the hill and go back past him.Didn't work out well,I got into some rocks and spun right into his lane as he topped the hill .I went  left off the road and he went over into my lane to miss me.You live and learn sometimes.

Ya know that crazy thing to me is if this was Greeneville playing Tullahoma they would already have the gold ball in the case in Greeneville.  Heck,  they had the gold ball midway through the season.  But it’s not Greeneville.  I like the position the cyclones are in.  This team is battle tested and played a very tough schedule and post season.  I think Tullahoma will be the 2nd best team they’ve played thus far.  That’s no disrespect either.  Saturday will come down to who makes plays when it matters most.  I see a low scoring game and ball control being huge.  These two teams a so much alike it’s crazy.

I guess I'm one  exception to already having the gold ball before it's earned. I was personally worried after watching the very first game this year and I'll stop there .The bottom line for Elizabethton is they are in the championship game and hopefully will use that hard nose defense to finish the deal.

  3. I know absolutely very little about what Tullahoma has as far as size, speed and coaches but understand a 14-0 record doesn't just happen without some really good players and coaches .Every time I read the early season stuff, this was a team I kept wondering about .Now we are all going to find out when they matchup with a team Ive seen since I was a teen playing football myself way back in the day.Even before that's all written about,I expect like most football games, this one to come down to who plays the cleaner game.Meaning , turnovers and penalties to start with. I hope it's a great game and all the young men come out injury free.At the end of the day, I'm pulling for Elizabethton to bring back the gold and look forward to next week.

Alcoa will have one competitive game all year. And we know who the opponent is. Outside of that they will boat race all other teams on their schedule and all the teams in 3A including Giles County.  That’s why teams like Upperman and RedBank decided to move to 4A. You aren’t beating them for the foreseeable future on the gridiron.  Alcoa would be the favorite in 4A and one of the favorites in 5A which is where they matchup talent wise year in and year out. They would still win more than they would lose and the games would be a lot more fun to watch for the fans but that’s just my unbiased observation.

Probably one of the reasons Alcoa takes on 6A powerhouse Maryville every year as well as the best that will play them from all classes during the regular season. When the playoffs get here, the goal is gold. When Alcoa has the amount of  students to move up,they will.I understand what your saying but it's not Alcoa's job to find a place to lose more often but other schools their size job to get better. I've seen Alcoa have down years in the past and not win it all.Nobody cared then outside of Alcoa.Shoot, some folks in 4A or 5A would be crying foul if they moved up now and took someones playoff spot.Several years ago,one of my kids was batting and got under a baseball but it still went off the 350 fence .The coach of the 13 year old all-star team recruited him that night because he didn't think that was possible at that age and  it not even a solid hit.I told him my boys age and he said, I'm sorry he doesn't meet the age  requirements.I didn't see a big deal but apparently a year makes a difference . Anyway, Alcoa is playing where they are supposed to  because of their size.

Ha, I didn't want to ask ,but wondered if you were making a run to Pal's this evening, how many big Pals would it take to make momma happy .Batman must be pretty hungry as well because I was just watching to see if she was going to save some of that turkey or eat the whole thing .

What is the realistic probability that all 3 Carter County teams end up in Chattanooga next week?

Last week I gave my answer on which team I thought had the best chance and that meant Elizabethton had to beat Greeneville, but I said Elizabethton. I don't know a lot about the competition in the other brackets, but I know what Elizabethton has and that's why I went with them for my pick instead of what the newspaper guy said.

The older I get i realize that life is to short to get mad at things that really don’t matter and as BVD says hug your mom and dad and tell them you love them.

BVD and I are half brothers by the same dad.BVD had one of the greatest moms in the world ,second only to the one my two youngest boys have, atleast in my opinion. I'm sure a lot of coacht posters feel the same about their mom or wife. Whoever you care about in this life ,you should always hug them and tell them you love them. For the life of me,I can't understand folks that don't love their kids, but I guess it takes all types.

We are very proud of this team and community and Batman this never gets old and as you know you better enjoy every minute because you never know when it will happen again.I’ve supported this team for a long time and we finally got that first gold ball and I will never forget the feeling watching the team and coaches celebrating on that field after the game.

That's right, we're not guaranteed tomorrow, much less another state championship. When Greeneville got that silver ball . I thought that might be the last chance in my life time but it worked out.I'm thankful for for a lot in my life but have gotten to a different point with sports these days. Back years ago,it would make me so mad to see Tennessee lose a game and nobody wanted to be around me for a while. Now,I'll still pull for my favorite teams but when someone asked what happened,I can say what's on my mind and not think a whole lot afterwards. On top of that, believe me, it's ten thousand times better for Batman "not" having a son playing sports these days. Sounds better
