  1. I would say that Camden's coach has solidified his case for COY with the run in both the district and now especially in the regional tourney! Great in game adjustments especially last night against GC. Can't wait for tomorrow night against CPA to see what he and the Lions have for them. Best of luck!
  2. Camden vs Giles at 6 Marshall vs CPA at 7:30
  3. I would completely agree that the Fairview coach would be deserving if there had not been a pattern in years past of giving it to the winner of the regular season. The Fairview coach has taken that team from arguably the worst in the district to honestly one of the best. Please take no offense to the "worst in the district" comment. I would also like to combat the comment from another member stating that it really isn't coaching to have the 2nd best player move into your school. I would follow that up with, wasn't it great coaching to continue having your team win when THE best player in the district was out 3 weeks during the peak of the district games??? All in all, it is all water under the bridge. If in the future they decide to go with a coach that has actually done a great job and not automatically give it to the reg season champs that is cool but be consistent.
  4. Congrats to everyone on another season! Congrats to Camden for winning the regular season and district championship! I find it very sad however that Coach Dave Roberts was not given Coach of the Year. With all due respect to Creekwood's coach but I cannot remember a season that the coach of the reg season champs did not win coach of the year. Not sure what went on during the vote but IMO it should have gone to Coach Roberts. And as far as tourney MVP goes it was prob about even for Womack and Vick. Both had an excellent run during the tourney carrying their team at different times. I was happy to see that Vick won both his final season in 11AA. It has been great watching him grow into such an impressive player these past 4 years. And the story from Beagle about the little kid does not surprise me one bit. He is a very humble person and loves to speak to anyone who loves basketball! Best of luck to him at TN Tech. Best of luck to the teams in the regional tourney!
  5. You are correct. Creekwood and Hickman should play at CW in the first round as they finished #2 in the district. I would lean toward CW in that game based on the home court advantage. The next rounds move to Hickman Co. Then IMO it should be CW and Camden in Championship and the edge to Camden for the title.
  6. I am being told that Vick will return to action this week. With Hickman Co on 1/31 and Wavo on 2/7 (@ Wavo) and holding a 2 game lead in the district I am confident that Camden will hold on to that reg season district champ and make a great run in the tourney
  7. Hunter Vick from Camden. He is amongst the leader board in many of the stats from West TN. 3-point shooting 52 out of 114 (45.61%), assists 82, scoring 402 in 17 games (23.65 pts/game), steals 38. He was recognized for going over 2,000 career points early in the season and currently holds the all time record for scoring at Camden Central High School and all of Benton County. He has been out the past 2 weeks with an ankle injury but should return this week to help his team secure the regular season District Championship. These stats were released in the Jackson Sun last Thursday. Camden is 19-4 overall and 12-2 in District 11AA.
  8. I wasn't even gonna go into that one!
  9. You must not have ever played a team sport and you definitely know absolutely nothing about this young man. The one thing a "team" player would be focusing on at this point is working on getting back to the team that he has been apart of for the past four years of his life. And having gotten to know this young man as a fan of basketball in this area and watching him play these past four years I know that all he wants to do is get back on the court to help his team.
