  1. Definitely an interesting game. Kingston lost to Sweetwater, Central and Signal Mountain last year, Meigs defeated all three last year, but this is a new season.  I don’t know much about Kingston but Meigs has a lot of senior and I thought they looked good against the run but struggled against the pass, but they will need to control their emotions and stop getting the 15 yard penalty’s, or it will cost them against good teams.

They'll have their chance it seems. My prediction still holding of Alcoa repeating.

The Meigs vs Alcoa game tomorrow night should be a good one, both teams returned almost everyone, Meigs won the only game they played last year.

Oops!!! Sincerest apologies offered, retraction printed, and I'm accepting ideas for restitution!

No restitution needed for me, I think it’s funny, we usually play them about four times a year and those games get quite heated. But I do have to pull for my neighbors in McMinn COUNTY :D

If SS just plays their game business as usual, they'll collect their first gold ball. Bartlett will have to have the game of their career's to be in it late, and you'd have to have Westview and McKenzie as slight favorites. McMinn Co. and Wayne Co. aren't pushovers though, and both have lots of past history in the glass house...don't be surprised if either or both aren't interested in crowning last years champions in a repeat.

Lol you just called McMinn Central their arch enemy McMinn Co. those Central fans might go crazy :roflol:

I went to the TSSAA site and found the brackets for several tournaments.

1992 Class AA State Girls' Basketball Tournament Bracket (tssaasports.com)

1992 South Greene went 37-0, beating Meigs for the title.

The following year, South Greene came in 34-0 and Meigs beat them in the semis and then went on to win the championship. So Meigs returned the favor.

I believe it was the '92 SG team that had four players over 6'. I asked one of them, a few years back, if she thought the game had changed since she played. She said, "Absolutely." She has a 6' 4" son playing for SG and a daughter who is graduating this year, after two years All-State and one state championship in volleyball. The kid was a great player during her four years on the SG basketball team. Hate to see her leave, but time marches on.

Rachel Powell/Moore that lead those Meigs teams, and went on to play at Georgia has a daughter playing for Meige now.

You saw them both within a few days of each other, so I'll take your word. I watched some of the first half of the G-P / Meigs game and G-P looked very good.... though this Meigs team isn't well coached and self-destructs on their own.

McMinn Central overwhelmed a very solid Alcoa team last night.  And to think they don't have a Senior on their team is even more impressive.

We definitely make good teams look great and bad teams look good at times, and it blows my mind when you’re getting beat by 20 and you have players sitting on the bench laughing and cutting up and they go in the game and have no idea what to do.

Dang really? Was they a sleeper team? I missed them this year? I seen Alcoa beat them last year in the sectionals.

Central is young they have no seniors and they are well coached. Alcoa and GP are neck and neck with each other and I would take Central over either. And remember McMinn Central is the only team to beat Bradley Central.

Surprised Hampton is in overtime.  Not surprised by NG.  I figured James could get them.  I've been watching Hampton's livestream and they've been rattled from the opening tip.

I called the region 1 sweep but very surprised with the score, because Harriman is not very good.

Congratulations.  You'll host a scrappy Harriman team but I think you'll win by 20+ at home.  Right now I'm pretty certain that clarkrange, Pickett, Oneida, Hampton, McKenzie and Wayne will punch their tickets

I will take both region 1 teams if Hampton is legit, Harriman is not very good and Oneida has been blowed out by every good team they have played and they lost to a not very good Kingston team.
