Here's a good look at the implications of this week's game for our region.
My head hurts after looking at all those scenarios lol

That's a strange way to play a game.
Or the defense was playing so bad the coach decided to put the young players in hoping to motivate the starters to play better.

McMinn Centra's defense has been porous the last 4 games, giving up an average of 31 points a game. But they've gone 3-1 in those 4 games which shows they have a pretty potent scoring offense. Just average defensive play against Chattanooga Central should suffice since McMinn Central should easily score 30+ points in this matchup.
I’m pulling for M Central in this one because it benefits us lol because Tyner is playing pretty good and M Central let Tellico score 38 makes me a little nervous.

If McMinn C and Meigs were to be upset, then the seeding would look like
Tyner
Meigs
McMinn C
Brainerd.
Good call on that btw. I hadn't given consideration to a two team upset on the last game of the season.
I hadn’t ether, at the game they said Meigs clenched the 1 seed, for some reason I didn’t think about Tyner only having one loss.

Both teams coming off victories against fairly weak opponents. Mc beating tellico in a less than convincing fashion 51-38, CC beating Howard quite convincingly 42-0. Chargers will have to play a better ballgame then they did on Thursday if they wanna get past this team down In Harrison. If it's the team who played against kingston, sweetwater, tyner than I think the Chargers win, but if it's the team who played against signal mountain or tellico. It'll be alot closer or Chattanooga might upset MC. Final score prediction is
Mcminn central 32
Chattanooga Central 31
This is a big game for both teams, if MC wins they will get the 2 seed and a home playoff game, if CC wins and Brainerd loses, CC will get the 4 seed and if Tyner wins and M Central losses Tyner will get the 1 seed. and Meigs will be the 2 seed. A lot on the line this week.
Meigs County 4-0 McMinn Central 3-1 Tyner Academy 3-1 Brainerd 1-3 Chattanooga Central 1-3 Sweetwater 0-4 -

Seems Tyner has improved and Red Bank has regressed some (maybe injuries) but I see a good ball game brewing with Meigs with the win but maybe a 4th quarter game.Good luck Meigs.I said this back in 13 when we had you all on the schedule a few years and you all were a badly coached team but LOTS of very good players that when you all got some coaching -Watch out!A Meigs fan came and stood by me on our side during the game and said why are you guys always so good and I said we always have talent and just enough coaching to put us in the right place at the right time. Then Ryan came and took us over the top.He said I can't understand why we can't win (had 50 to 60 kids on the sideline).I told him to just hang in their and at some point the right guy would realize your potential and low and behold Fitz came and the rest is history.Very glad to see you all being so successful!
Sometimes as a fan it can be hard to be patient, but you are right, Fitz came in and set the tone and put players in position to be successful and win games. I think Bunch and all the coaches are doing a great job, I think the offense is a little more balanced this year, we have the ability to spread the field and throw to some good receivers that can take it to the house, and a QB that can throw it or kill you with his legs, and two stud RB that run hard and that are always going forward. The defense is very physical. Brainerd has a big O and D line with athletes everywhere but Meigs beat them up for three quarters and they didn’t want anymore. I’m hoping we come out and set the tone just like that with Tyne, if we do it will be about the same if not it will be a four quarter game. Good luck to you guys

Very surprised the rams beat rhea county quite convincingly
I know that Rhea is down some this year but Rhea did beat Red Bank and Tyner lost to Red Bank the first game of the season 44-6 that tells me they are definitely improving.

Bledsoe by 14, The pujo curse.
Please don’t come over to the Tyner/ Meige thread unless you’re picking Tyner lol

Meigs comes in after dominating Brainerd, can they continue the winning streak and go undefeated, or will the young improving Rams that beat a much larger school in Rhea County, come in and snap the winning streak. Thoughts on this one?

I give the edge to Bledsoe but by no means counting the Indians out!
I would never count Oneida out, just think Bledsoe is playing good right now and at home.
-
I like both programs but I think Bledsoe takes this one.

At this point the speculated pairings would be
R3 (1) Meigs vs R4 ( 4 ) Grundy Co.
R3 ( 2 ) McMinn Central vs R4 ( 3 ) Watertown
R4 ( 1 ) Giles Co. vs R3 ( 4 ) Brainerd
R4 ( 2 ) Sequatchie vs R3 ( 3 ) Tyner
Just a talking point folks. This could change if there were some upsets, but I think it may turn out this way. What have you? Any upsets in the first round? The Central and Watertown game should be a good one I bet.
Meigs clinched the 1 seed tonight, so this will probably be the matchups
I think the higher seeds win, the Tyner vs Sequatchie game could be a good one if this is the order of finish. Tyner beat Rhea tonight, they might be starting to improve. And it depends on which Central team shows up against Watertown.

Meigs 35-12 with 7:04 left in the 3rd.
We just pushed their hole defensive line 5 yards.

21-6 at the half.
I thought we should have go another TD there with the ball on the 1 with 18 seconds to go.

It's a region game and we're at home. I don't see us struggling this week again like we did last week.
Hope your right.

If there was a game for Meigs to be concerned with on their schedule in region play it’s Brainerd. Brainerd has athletes that Meigs has not seen.
they have the ability to pull off the big play if they can connect. QB&WR seem to be out of sync but if it comes together there should be concern with the athletes.
if Brainerd watches last weeks film and executes defensively then this may be alot closer than expected.
meigs can not afford to come out slow like they have on several occasions this season. They need to show the ability these next weeks to put 4 quarters together without committing silly penalties that have plagued them all season.I’ve said all season that penalties could bite us in a close game if we’re not careful. As far as the athletes, They look a lot like Chat Central and Hixson has some good athletes as well. But I do agree with you that we need to come out fast and play physical and set the tone, if we do that, I think we win comfortably, if we play like we did against Polk with all the penalties and mistakes then we could be in a dog fight . It’s really hard to go undefeated in the regular season, trying to keep a bunch of young men focused for 10 games.

Defense was pathetic and has been several games now. Offense is rolling so don’t include them in pathetic statement. Luckily we can score from anywhere at any time. However, I agree with playoff outlook. If we come across a team that can play defense we are in trouble .
I was really surprised that Tellico scored 38 points on you guys. Definitely need to improve on defense or the playoffs could be one and done.

This statement is very naughty and Meigs County is not going to a state game. I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.
I don’t believe that comment came from a Meigs fan

I agree 100% I believe it bein at Bledsoe gives them an edge as well. Oneida is playing better ball but I don’t know if it’s enough to go in and beat Bledsoe at home.
The cow pop smile is an advantage to lol

Happy Valley May be the sleeper team this year. They are hittin their stride when it matters most and surprising some people. It may be
1. York
2. Hampton
3. Happy Valley
Could be, Bledsoe is like Hampton, Meigs, Oneida and York, they are a bunch of mountain boys that are really physical and just like to hit people, I believe they will be a hard out.

Brainerd comes in riding a 14-12 win over Howard hoping to knock off the 8-0 tigers. Meigs escapes Polk with a 7-0 win last week, will Brainerd do what Polk almost did or will that wake the Tigers up, any thoughts?
Tyner comes to Meigs County
in Class 3A & Class 4A

I hope I’m right too. I haven’t seen Tyner this year just basing it off scores in region play.
Tyner vs Brainerd 14-12
Meigs vs Brainerd 49-20
Tyner vs Chat Central 27-21
Meigs vs Chat Central 34-6
Meigs will have the best defense that Tyner has seen in region play, and I believe we will be to physical, and I don’t see them stopping Meigs run game.and to be honest I don’t think they are playing good football right now because they have lost 2 out of the last 3, and after taking to a few Rhea people, it sounds like they are having a lot of problems and some of the players have checked out on this coaching staff. but we will see in a few hours.
