I've never been to Happy Valley but I think watching a game at Hampton with old Pujo walking around before the game is my preference. Really nice setting for a game. So I'm hoping SG beats Hampton but I'm pretty sure that game will be over at halftime. I think for the most part it's shaping up like most people thought it would. Hampton and York as 1's, everybody else waiting to be blown out in whatever round they play them. As for Polk, they can't seem to find a way to win. They had so many missed opportunities vs Oneida that I bet that coach didn't sleep that night. I watched the Meigs game and Polk played their best game of the year. They had some players back that haven't played in a while. Meigs really should have won 28-0 but just couldn't finish drives in the redzone. Made some really dumb plays too. Dumb penalties and bad clock management in the first half erased 2 scores. But Polk did play their best game all year. I'd say Meigs played their worst game of the year though. It will be interesting to see how the regions matchup. If I was doing a power rankings for Region 1/2. I would say:

    1.  York

    2. Hampton

    3. Bledsoe

    4. Happy Valley

    5. South Greene

    6. Oneida and Polk tied

    8. Eagleton

I'm just assuming SG is better than they played vs Eagleton due to injuries. But I could have easily put SG tied with Oneida and Polk.

I would probably move Oneida up, just imagine if Meigs was still in 2A and in region 2, that would be a tough region for sure, and I said last year that Meigs would win the region and they have two games at home to prove me right, moving up has made it easier until playoff time.

    1.  York

    2. Hampton

    3. Bledsoe

    4 Oneida

    5 Happy Valley

    6 South Greene

    7 Polk tied

We could have another player or 2 back , I'd say they will also. Not so sure about us and York meeting, Region 2 looks tough especially after Polk only lost to Meigs  7 to 0, that will be their # 4. Round one will be tough for all of us region 1 teams.

Pujo I wouldn’t read to much into the Meigs/Polk game. Meigs has been costing and Polk always plays us tough, that was just a good game to bring those young men back to earth, and let them know they can’t take anyone lightly. I would put money on it if they played again it would be totally different.

I think region 1 is just Hampton and region 2 is York, Oneida and a Bledsoe team that has surprised some people this year, I think Oneida has their hands full with Bledsoe and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them get the 2 seed.

I need to see the boxscore from this Meigs vs Polk game. I'd love to see the stats. I thought this would be a running clock in 2nd half

Polk came ready to play and Meigs thought they would win easily, you just never know with a bunch of teenagers, just like Meigs had no problem moving the ball on Stone, scoring 33 and a good York team could only score 14, it’s a good thing that the Meigs defense showed up last night or we could have left there with a L

Alcoa just doesn't get "upset" Whoever gets to Alcoa will be run ruled.Wish Meigs could have Stayed down but realistically should have just skipped on to 4A chances were MUCH better.

The story in 3A is pretty much the same every year in the East with Alcoa, and as far as Meigs, we were borderline 3A and I was told we are below the cutoff now.

Kingston better than the newer crossville team?

IMO yes, we actually moved the ball on Stone with good success and pretty much dominated that game for 3 quarters, but gave them a couple easy scores on a pick 6 and penalties. Kingston defense is much better, but you guys have the best passing attack that they have probably seen, I think for you guys to win that’s the key.

Both teams are coming into this game off a victory last week. Both of them have a shared loss from Meigs county being their only common opponent. This game could be a toss up, but this is the best Kingston vs best central team I've seen in awhile, just think Kingston looks a bit better with more experience . I think the final score will be something like

    Mcminn central 22

    Kingston 35

I'd love for the boys in blue to win, but they have to stop Kingston offense early on and try to win by slowing the ball out And maybe getting a defensive touchdown or two if they can good luck to both teams this coming Friday hope for it to be injury free, because both teams will need to be full powered come playoff time.

I think this will be a tough game for Central, I believe you guys will have to throw the ball to win, they have a good defense against the run and they have 22 seniors, and IMO they are the best team we have played this year.

If you can't stop the run it will be a long night. Kingston runs the ball 90% of the time. And the qb which was pretty much forced to play at that position this year is our best athlete. He pretty much put the team on his shoulders and ran every play last week on the final drive of the game to beat a good Loudon team.

As a Meigs guy I think Kingston is the best team we have played this year and similar to us, you guys are very physical and have a good defense.

Here are a few highlights from our game. This is just the Meigs highlights of the game. I figured I'd let Central handle theirs  If they wanted to do any. Im going to try later to make a small video of Ethan Meadows our qb. He definitely should be in the running for Mr Football.

Its shaky due to the confined bleachers lol, i detest going to that place only for that reason.

    Thanks for watching.

    Nice work Yeti.

Meigs County is not going to state this season. They will not get a shot at Alcoa because they would not be able to beat Giles County in round 3. I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.

I guess we will see if those little Bobcats and Tigers both make it that far.

Does central bounce back from their loss against the Meigs County tigers and have enough juice to beat the young, but ever improving tigers of Tyner.  I think Tyner can give central some trouble and possibly "upset" them for what it's worth, I hope central can pull of the W and secure a home playoff berth 2nd seed so they can have a home game in the  postseason. Massey ratings say the game will be central 20 Tyner 35. I hope not

This is a big one and a hard one to pick for me, both played Brainerd close 14-12 Tyner over Brainerd and 21-20 Central over Brainerd, I think if Tyner can run the ball and control the clock they have a chance to win, but I think Central gets the win at home. And it’s the Tyner Rams BTW. Good luck to you guys.

They have several who could start for us. Shoot we killed Cloudland and they have at least 4 who would start for us.

That’s definitely a bold statement, especially for a 2A school. I’m a Meigs guy and we have a really good team this year and I promise Oneida has a few that would start for us.

Central had 365 yards in total offense......Ran 60 plus plays.......225 yards passing and 140 rushing. Meigs had zero sacks and I do not recall any negative offensive plays by Central. You don;t have that kind of offensive production without good offensive line play. Central replaced all 5 starters on the OL.....when the season started, there was only 2 varsity starts between all 5 of them. Additionally they are on their 3rd Center due to injuries. For the whole season Central is averaging right at 400 yards in offense per game. Not bad for a bunch of first year starters in the trenches.

Do you have the stats for the first half? A lot of those yards came in the second half when the game was over and some against the second unit.  The QB gets it out quickly and lets the recovers do the work, because we flushed him out of the pocket a lot. All I’m saying is if the O line could give the QB time for some plays to develop down field your offense would be hard to stop with the receivers you have.
