Uh oh
Come on now. Don't start that stuff. You know when the Meigs QB got hurt it was a hole different game. Those predictions would have been pretty close with him at 100%. The play book went from 10 pages to 1. Just like if #4 for Rockwood got hurt they would have had a hard time moving the ball. Those predictions were made with both teams at 100%. The young man was still trying to run. And when he would drop back to pass he could not avoid the rush. He was trying to play with one leg. Congrats to Rockwood.

Hate to see Swafford go down. It changed the game. But that's part of the game. Rockwood played hard and deserved the win. I know the Meigs guys are down but will be ok. No seniors on starting offense losing 2 good starters on defense. They will be a tough out next couple years. Will I guess we will be in the gym now.

McMinn Central for sure and a good chance for Meigs, based on playing in a very weak region. I don't see either team winning their sub state games though, but we'll see how the season goes.
Both teams are young but talented. McMinn I think has one senior and Meigs has three. I think they will finish 1-2 in district and region. Don't know who came out on top. McMinn lost a lot more than Meigs. But will still be good. Meigs lost one senior and will be deeper than McMinn. They have some good sophomores and freshmen. But yes I agree wining a substate game will be difficult especially for the team that has to travel. But there's always a chance if the young one develop.

Does not negate the fact that it changed the game for both teams. They gave up, and we played J.V. all of 4th quarter.
I will agree with you on that. Looking forward to Friday night.

Gavin should win the 2 A one hands down
I thought that would be the three finalists. I hope I get the chance to watch the other two play if Meigs can take care of business.

Also been to every game but one, 5 onside kicks back to back allowed us to pull away that game we got 4 of them back. Aaron had 7 touchdowns that game. It was a different Meigs team after halftime. And Rockwood didn't show up after half time. I don't doubt Meigs will win again this game.. But I am saying Rockwood is also a decent football team that if they show up four quarters would be a better game than we have had the last 2 playoff games.
You mean the 5 accidental onside kicks lol.

I've been to every game but one. Rockwood might have played great in the first half against Meigs. But that was the worst first half I've seen Meigs play this year. Just going through the motions and just flat. And about 70 yards in penalties. In fact I think Meigs was at one point 3rd and 45 lol. Meigs will roll in this game. Rockwood doesn't match up well against Meigs. To much speed and to much depth. If it's close at the half Meigs will pull away in the second half. When you just have one player going both ways it's a huge advantage.

Saylors had 22 rushes for 233 yards against TC. But yall keep in mind. This is a regular season award in which stats, academics and character are all taken into account.
Yes I know it's a regular season award. Just saying that's why they were nominated. I hope they both take care of business Friday and meet in the 4th round. I think it would be one heck of a game. And Swafford is in the top of his class in academics.

I'm going with
2A
Aaron Swafford
Jacob Saylors
Gavin Stanfield
the kicker for Bledsoe County is really good.
Really don't know much about 1A.
Swafford and Saylors still looking good. Swafford with 5 TDs" against HV. And I'm sure Saylors had good numbers against TC.

Man this one is a hard pick. You just don't know which Tyner team will show up. But I said a few weeks back that I thought Marion would be coming to Meigs in round 4. And nothing has changed my mind.

And RW still have won cause we refused to tackle!
Just saying those refs are a disgrace
How do they decide where the refs come from?

Answer is no. 2a is weak weak weak. They might already be playing basketball if they were in the 1a playoffs.
We've heard that all year. As good as Meigs defense is you may be surprised. Grace beat Greenback in a close one. Grace beat HV in a close one. And Meigs pounds HV. Meigs would be more than capable of beating the top 1A teams in the East.
-
Meigs 46-14. I know people are going to disagree a say Meigs is overrated. But Meigs might have the best defense in the state in 2A.

Jet told me that was the same crew we had at RW
I saw some bad calls on both teams. But Meigs would have still won the game. Meigs is just a better team. It's not even close on defense or offense.

INTERESTING!
I don't know if you are referring to my statement. But the only reason I say that is because the region and district that Meigs and McMinn Central play in is down. And I don't see anyone who can beat them. But winning a substate game is a different story.

I had misinformation. Website I read was wrong. Looked it up on the Rockwood site and it was 14-14. I was right about Meigs running away with it in the second half though for sure.
Last game doesn't mean anything. And Rockwood is playing much better of late. Should be a good one.

If Rockwood plays the way they did against SN, this game could be over by the beginning of the 2nd quarter. Rockwood had a decent size lead against Meigs earlier in the season, and completely blew it in the 3rd quarter and Meigs dominated the game afterwards. We will see how this game goes.
It was 14-14 at the half. I'm a little confused by that statement.

After HV struggled to put SG away. And Meigs could have scored 70 if the coaches wanted to. I'm going to say 37-14 Meigs.

Yeah TD Rockwood. Rockwood leads 29-20 and SN has the ball with around 2 minutes or so left.
It looks like you guys will be coming for a visit. Meigs put it on HV.
-
38-6 4:00 minutes left. Meigs in dominant fashion. That's what you call good defense.
-
32-6 in the 3rd 7:23 left

Swafford got hurt. If not for that I would say he would have. That just shows you what he means to his team.
