Centrals offensive and defensive lines have both been a pleasant surprise this year considering they lost everyone from last year. Especially the offensive line. Coming into the Meigs game the O line had only gave up two sacks all year. It’s not that Central is that bad it’s Meigs is just that much better.

I think if the O line was a little better you guys would be hard to stop on offense.

I think Meigs is the front runner followed by Sweetwater, then probably Tyner and Central, Brainerd, Chattanooga Central.

Give me some picks on the finish.

I was wrong about Sweetwater lol

    Meigs 3-0

    Tyner 3-0

    McMinn Central 2-1

    Chat Central 1-2

    Brainerd  0-2

    Sweetwater 0-4

Big game coming up for Tyner and McMinn Central, if Tyner can get the win and Meigs can beat Brainerd, we would have a showdown the last game of the regular season in Decatur for the region championship. Any thoughts?

Are the semifinals not on black Friday this year lol? Yes they would be matched up with region 3 and a potential game with Meigs or Central. Either way....everyone is fighting for 2nd place in the East.

Most definitely someone’s seasons will end at Alcoa. Thanks

They do. Period. 3 Head Coaches on staff....1 GA State Champion DC, HC/OC is from a successful Bradley program, and OL coach is tied for most wins in a season as HC at Central. There are others as well that have brought knowledge and experience. Pretty cool for small town football to have that. Something Sweetwater probably cherishes right about now.

I guess that staff forgot to go with the team when they played a bad Signal Mountain team lol

Wow. You must be one of the offenders. If the rest of the state thinks a program is foolish  but the ppl apart of the program make excuses and trying to manipulate the situation, who is wrong lol? Ridiculous

I have nothing to do with the program and I’m not a fan, but if a coach is playing a kid just because it’s his son and not because of his talent, that’s wrong for many reasons. The school had a tough decision to make.

That power is what worries me. I don’t know if our defense can get off the field.  On the flip side I’m looking forward to how you defend Masingale and Harbison with cook and McCarty in the back field.

I would say Stone is the best team we have played, they were big but couldn’t stop our run game, Meadows took the game over late, he seems to get stronger as the game goes, Stone had a good QB with some good receivers and we did a pretty good job on them. It seems like you guys struggled early in the season and finally got it together against Sweetwater. I think Meigs is the favorite if we can control the clock and finish drives, but you guys having a week off and home field advantage can make a difference as well.

I've thought thr same about our Qb and you defending him. Teams have done it, but at the cost of #23 having his way alot of times. This game is shaping up to a really good one. Not sure when we've had better records going Into our game.

I look forward to seeing the Masengale kid play.

#13 is starting to get a lot carries and he is hard to bring down.

The problem is, that those who are not part of this program, know more than everyone in it. You feel bad for a coach who doesn’t put the best 11 on the field. Give me a break. This is no longer about a football program but about hurting someone’s feelings because they can’t see talent. So you would punish the whole team for one kid. What is also bad is that the players see it and know who should be playing. But let’s not worry about the whole team just the one player and the “coach”.

The players and parents knew about this situation before the season started, I was at the jamboree, and when the backup QB came in I looked at a Sweetwater fan and said he will be the starter before the season is over, and he replied back and said, no he won’t because the other kid is the coaches son.  I don’t feel bad for the coach but I feel bad for his son, and to put his son in that situation knowing that he shouldn’t be out there, that tells you a little something about his constantly, and not a very good role model for the players.

Never heard of this before and don't think it's a good idea if that was a rule.  An Administration hires a coach to run a team and they move their entire family to the new town and school, the Coach has a son who plays football but won't let him play?  No football coach with a kid would do that.  Just imagine if that was a rule at Greeneville (Ballard wouldn't have been able to play and lead us to 2 state championships) or Anderson County (Gillum would have to step aside for his son to play next year since he will be a freshman or his son can't play?)

Again, I could be totally wrong, but I was told that, and I was told that the coach would have to step aside if they had a kid come through. I will see if I can find any truth to it. Thanks

5-0 Meigs County visits 4-1 McMinn Central Friday September 29th.

Meigs handled the Chatanooga Central team with a respectable score of  34-6.

McMinn Central had a bye, but are coming off of a thrashing of the Wildcats of Sweetwater 44-10. A team Meigs only beat 21-14

This Meigs team is a similar team in ability to the 2021 team. I'd say stronger offensively but maybe just a tad weaker defensively. We are playing our best football right now of the season. Our new coach so far has proven to be of equal caliber to Fitzgerald as a coach and better in some aspects especially his ability to adapt his team to what his opponent is doing during the game.

Many of you Central fans may not know of Ethan Meadows, but he is likely of equal caliber to your Masengale player.

We will see who deserves the hype after this game is over.

What have you gentleman? Predictions? Breakdowns? I'm all ears. :popcorneater:

I think the D is playing pretty well, they have done pretty good against some good athletes. I thought Stone had a really good pocket passing QB with some good receivers and we contained them pretty good, I think the coaches will have a good game plan to limit Masengale’s touches and make someone else make plays. I think it comes down to Meigs just being more physical and being able to pound the ball with some good running backs and Meadows can take it to the house on any given play. Looking forward to this game.
