At closing in, if not @ 70, I believe it’s time for ole Joe to hang it up and enjoy the rest of his life peacefully. He’s put in so much time and effort through the years for the big OR, and as a fan who knows him and grew up with his son, I truly appreciate everything he has done for the program from the bottom of my heart. But, you have to wonder if it’s time to bring in a younger fella to pump some new lifeblood into the OR program.

Good post Sweet. It needed to be said. Sad though.

I'm not saying it is time for Joe to go but he sure looked worn out after last season too. I hope he does what is best for him.

Come on Willie! Don't take the ball!

FINE! You can have the stupid ball. Oak Ridge High has a national caliber Science Bowl team I can cheer for. And our WildBots team kicks robot butt.

Seriously, I really thought OR was going to win easily. Stupid me!

  3. Dang! We lost to Karns and the Beavers deserve a boat load of respect for winning. They could have quit down 21 - 7 but they came back and wore OR down in the second half. Nice job Karns.

All the talk about changing the Offense was just hot air.

Believe it or not but we will probably still make the playoffs.

We have got to stay behind this team because it is the only football team at Oak Ridge High School. Not much of a reason but it is all I got.

I am down but I will stand behind the team because of players like 13, 7, 33, 38 and  some others.

God, please let us not get killed by DB. I really hate Kingsport. Amen.

Maybe so with more reps.I wouldve loved to see him after a yr or more of playing defense.I will say he can still be a D1 RB.I think as FR and SO he was on an upward path at RB and got D1 offers because of it.Then as a JR he seemed to not get better or take the next step we all thought he would.Combine that with this years nightmare of an offense and people like me kinda wrote him off as a big time RB.But to be fair he really hasnt had much of a shot to prove it at RB this yr.We really need him on defense and with 2 other good RBs we dont need him running it 20 plus times a game. And our offense and blocking has been so bad the best of the best would have a hard time.I would love for the new offense to give him a better shot at showing what he can do before seasons end.For some reason I think he learned from some mistakes and will put up big numbers if we give him a shot.He seems to be getting back to running downhill and punishing tacklers.I hope he shines and his hard work is rewarded.

    Good post! RWR!

Jackson appears to be more of a linebacker than a running back in college.  Thoughts?

You maybe right. He has struggle running this season but so has all the OR RBs. I do however think Jackson is going to have some great games at RB coupled with some stellar LB play in the next several weeks.

Judging from the two players on Wed. Coaches Corner the team still looks up to Jackson and has faith in him.  I know I still enjoy watching him play.

If that OR defense is as good as what has been indicated by previous games then I don’t see this one being close. Bishop will get his yards but the Cats make it happen!

The Oak Ridge DL will do well against the Karns OL, giving Berven, Kelly and Jackson free roam to target in on Bishop. Bishop will manage 125 tough yards and 2 TDs.

We all have seen what Bishop does when they put him on TV.So thanks for doing us no favors Packer.I see Karns scoring around 28 so can the Oak Ridge offense beat that?

Ut Oh...I am not sure we can score 28 points. The defense must limit Bishop to season low production.

This game will be won or lost by the OR offense. If they can control the ball and keep Bishop off the field, that will be the key. The OR defense doesn't need to stay on the field all night long and be expected to contain the nation's leading rusher. This will be a very interesting match up

No offense but I hope the OR defense is the key to a victory. I thrust our Defense more than the offense.

You are right this will be a very interesting match up. I sure hope the Cats take Karns seriously.

If you guys can stop the run  and keep bishop limited the Wildcats can win this regional match up. Believe the Wildcats can go 5-5 this year and sneak into the playoffs  and will have either 3 or 4 spot and will likely either play rhea County or mcminn county

I think I disagree but I could be wrong. If OR beats Karns and Campbell County and is beaten or wins over DB they will be 4 - 6 or 5 - 5, and EARN NOT SNEAK into a Second Place Region finish. The DB game is actually meaningless if OR beats Karns and CCHS.

I have no idea who they would play in the playoffs so I will go with what you said.

Best of luck to your team!

    RWR!

Been praying for BVD, keep us all updated from time to time on how he's doing

I am with ya Blazer1. I have been following him on YouTube for four or five years.

I was keeping up with the recruitment of Tee Higgins and I came across a YouTube video from BVD that should be called, " SCREW YOU TEE HIGGINS! " I was pissed when I saw that but then I watched it and it was some funny sheep.

He starts out ragging Tee for switching from UT to Clemson then changes his tune and wishes Tee good luck in his life.

It was a brilliant piece of satire. My prayers to him, family and friends.

I was walking @ Warriors Path park the other day, deep in thought about Newton's laws of motion.... specifically, why is it that a frisbee appears to increase in size the nearer it gets to you?   ....     And then it hit me .......

I didn't see that one coming.
